Even salvation can be delivered through the love of the damned…
Beauty can be a curse.
Faith can be a cage.
Only love can set you free.
A few long weeks after being reluctantly ripped from the comforting embrace of her sacred prophet’s religious commune—the only life she has ever known—a terrified Delilah is thrust into a world enveloped by evil and swimming in sin.
Steadfastly devout in her faith, and retaining the deep belief that her soul is innately tarnished as a branded ‘Cursed woman of Eve,’ Delilah is determined to find her way home to her people in The Order and away from the corrupt and damned outlaw motorcycle club—The Hades Hangmen—who hold her at their secluded compound for her protection—a 'protection' she strongly resents.
Delilah yearns to return home, convinced that only amongst her own people, and under the holy guidance of the Lord’s revealed prophet, can her Satan-spawned soul be truly saved. Conditioned her entire life to believe she is a witch... a life-long temptress… the devil’s whore... Delilah increasingly resents her beautiful face, her shapely body and her sensuous effect on men. But when a man of the motorcycle club—a deeply sinful yet stunningly beautiful man—is charged with her care, Delilah begins to see that this dangerous and moralless sinner from the 'outside' may offer her something she did not know could truly exist: unconditional love.
Kyler ‘Ky’ Willis loves his life: a daily abundance of brotherhood, liquor, the freedom of the open-road and—best of all—his pick of hot women. Raised a biker brat and now VP of the most notorious MC in the States, Ky has no shortage of club sluts warming his bed; a situation he takes full advantage of… until a certain blonde enters his life… a gorgeous pilgrim-blonde he can’t get out of his head… a pilgrim-blonde he and his club recently-rescued from some backward religious cult… and a pilgrim-blonde he’s been ordered to keep the hell away from and his whorish hands off.
When yet another in a lengthy line of drunken blunders forces Ky to reluctantly take charge of the pilgrim-blonde’s care, he realizes that there could be more to this woman than just supermodel looks and a stacked set of tits. He begins to see that she could be the woman who could do the impossible—tame his wild ways and capture his reluctant heart.
But the unyielding bonds of Lilah’s past are strong, her ‘people’ determined and, with a new Prophet in charge and hell bent on revenge, they are mightily reluctant to let her go...
Christy's 5+ Star Review!
I thought I had my favorites list for 2014 all put together, then I read this book, and had to shuffle everything around. Tillie Cole is an amazing writer and she has this ability to make me feel so much when reading. This book had me awake all hours of the night reading until I finished. I sat there and read for five straight hours, my eyes glued to my kindle until I read the last page. I literally could not put it down. I looked like a zombie the next day at work, but it was so worth it. I cried while reading. I cried while going through my highlights for this review (and I had to go through over 50, because there were too many fantastic quotes). It’s safe to say that this book impacted me in the best way and I loved it dearly.
We had been forced to exist after being ripped from our home, ripped from all we knew: the commune. The Order. The Lord’s Prophet. We belonged with God’s Chosen Ones.
Lilah is ‘sister’ and friend to Mae. She is not taking life on the outside near as well as her sister. She has been ripped away from her home, surrounded by crude and rude bikers. She’s terrified.
Then there is Kyler. VP of the Hangmen. Ky is something else. He’s the biggest manwhore in the MC. He’s hilarious, sexy and crass. He’s also the man that his Prez and best friend, Styx assigns to Lilah. He’s supposed to show her around, help her adjust to ‘real life’. Ky and Lilah are so funny together at first. You won’t find two characters as different from one another as they are.
His talk was crude, but I had come to realize it was just his way.
The more time these two spend together, the more used to one another they become. They actually start to get along and like being together. For the fist time since Lilah’s been away from the Order, she feels safe. Ky is the only one who makes her feel that way.
I felt safe with Ky. I knew he was my protector... And even out in this unfamiliar world, and with as little time spent with him as I had had, I instinctively knew he would protect me from danger.
As much as Ky doesn’t want to admit it to himself or anyone else, Lilah is slowly changing him. It’s obvious to anyone around them that he cares for her and is protective over her.
My favorite part of the book was just watching these two together. Watching them grow into friends and so much more. I loved seeing the changes they were making. They are so connected to one another. Ky has this way of being able to open Lilah up and bringing her out of her shell, something no one else could do. And Lilah brings out a side of Ky that he didn’t even know existed. He is still his crazy self, but he is sweet, gentle and kind with her. The two of them together… it just made me melt. It made my heart sore.
Things had changed for me so drastically in regards to this man. My feelings were so strong that I almost could not stand it. He was becoming the center of my world. He was completely changing my life.
Lilah and Ky were two of the most beautiful and memorable characters I’ve read in a long time. Lilah is broken, sheltered, terrified of life, but she has this strength and determination that you don’t see very often. I rooted for her. I loved her. Just as much as I loved Ky, I loved her. My Ky. When I read about Ky in book one, I just knew his book would be epic. Naturally, I was right. Ky made me laugh out loud so many times. Watching him with Lilah made my heart melt. And watching the changes he made for her was a beautiful thing. I adored both of these characters so much. I liked Mae and Styx and the first book, but this book and these characters were on an entirely different level for me.
Heart Recaptured is an emotional, beautiful, painful, stunning, raw, gritty and powerful read. It’s a book that will make you laugh, make you cry and it will move you. Ky and Lilah’s love story is one that needs to be read. I can’t recommend this enough. Tillie Cole, you amaze me. I am so looking forward to the next book in this series (Flame). I love the crazy ones and I just can’t wait!
As you can tell, this is a must read of mine- a favorite of 2014. Don’t miss out on this amazing story and this beautiful couple!
“I love you, Li. You’re mine. My woman. My property. My fuckin’ old lady... my fuckin’ forever.”
