REVIEW: The Country House (London Prep 6) by Jillian D

After the drama at Harry’s family cocktail party on Thursday and confessing my feelings for Noah on Friday, I’m looking forward to a weekend away with the boys.

So after packing up my wellies, tweeds, and a fancy dress or two, we are off to the countryside!
And everything seems perfect.
Harry and I are closer than we’ve ever been.
My relationship with Noah is finally progressing to more.
The boys’ club is stronger than ever, and we get a weekend away with no parents!

Except, well, it isn’t all that perfect.
Because Harry’s parents still think we’re dating and sometimes I wonder if he does too.
Harry still doesn’t know that Noah and I are kind of a couple.
Helen is questioning my every move, not trusting that I’ll behave myself.
My dad seems to have a man crush on Harry.
And even though Noah and I have shared our feelings, he won’t share his body with me.

I know we’re going to have the best time together, but I can’t help but think about how when the weekend is over, everything is going to change.
After all, I never expected to wind up in Harry’s arms again, having him look at me like he still loves me. And I never expected to hear that Noah thinks I’m going to break his heart.
It’s only one weekend, but a lot can change in just a few days.

Christy's Review:

I loved every second of being back in the 'London Prep' world! This book was a little different than the rest as it didn't take place at school or London at all. Mal, Noah, Harry, and Mohammed were all at Harry's house in the country.

Mallory's life is changing once again with her parents moving to London in the next coming week, navigating her friendships as well as a new relationship, and trying to adjust to being in London permanently. A getaway is exactly what everyone needed. It's just the boy's club getting away for a few days. Just the four of them.

I was squealing so happily about the direction this book took! I think most readers will be very very happy about it! Though the end left me a bit nervous. Mallory has a choice to make and whatever she chooses could easily change the course of her life!

These are the kind of books that will pull you in and engross you. I didn't want to put this one down and I'm so excited for the next book! It can't come soon enough!

Cover Reveal: Doctor Love by Leisa Rayven

Being wrong for each other has never felt so right…

Dr. Love, an all-new steamy, standalone from International Bestselling author Leisa Rayven is coming June 7th, and we have the stunning cover!

Toby Jenner may be tall, handsome, and own the world’s greatest collection of cardigans, but his track record with women is woeful. Even though he’s the tech genius behind the most successful matchmaking app of all time, it seems as though Doctor Love is able to predict everyone’s perfect partner except his own.

All that changes when a beautiful, intelligent, quirky-as-hell woman crashes into his life. Plagued by her own relationship woes, Joanna’s done with dating guys who aren’t right and pins her hopes on the Happy Ever After app turning her love life around.

Within hours of meeting her, Toby realizes he’s finally found the soul-deep connection he’s always craved. Even better, she seems to feel the same way.

There’s just one problem–according to his own state-of-the-art compatibility algorithm, they don’t stand a snowball’s chance in hell of working out.

Being a man of logic, Toby knows he should forget about her and move on. He knows he shouldn’t move into her plush Manhattan apartment so he can monitor the glitchy A. I. that runs/ruins her life. He knows he should be fine with her dating men whose compatibility scores aren’t in the single digits. And he should absolutely ignore how just being near her sets his entire world on fire.

Yes, Toby is very aware that falling for his perfectly imperfect match will lead to devastating heartbreak. But he also knows that if there’s even a one-percent chance of them making it, he’ll move heaven and earth to beat the odds.

A sizzling new standalone from the internationally bestselling author of Bad Romeo.

Elle Kennedy has a new series! EEK!

MISFIT

A Prep Novel

Finding out your mom is marrying some rich dude you’ve never met is enough to make any eighteen-year-old guy’s head spin. But for RJ SHAW, it only gets worse: he’s being sent to Sandover Prep for senior year. If there’s one place a misfit hacker like RJ doesn’t belong, it’s an ivy-covered all-boys boarding school for rich delinquents.

RJ knows his stay at Sandover will be temporary. Which means there’s no point making friends or trying to fit in. But the plan to remain antisocial goes awry when he meets a gorgeous girl in the woods on campus. SLOANE TRESSCOTT is pure temptation, with a sharp tongue and an ice princess attitude RJ’s determined to crack. Except there’s a catch. Sloane is the one girl he is forbidden from touching.

The headmaster’s daughter.

Good thing RJ doesn’t believe in rules. Sure, Sloane insists she’s swearing off guys this year, but their connection is impossible to deny. He wants her bad, and he’s going to win her over if it kills him.

Unless her ex-boyfriend kills him first.

DUKE, the ruling king of Sandover, will stop at nothing to get rid of his competition. Luckily, RJ’s unwittingly made some friends—his new stepbrother FENN, a pretty boy with a self-destructive streak; LAWSON, self-proclaimed agent of chaos; and SILAS, the All-American Good Guy who can’t actually be as nice as he seems.

If RJ wants to survive prep school and win Sloane’s heart, he’ll need to adapt—and fast.

Christy's Review:

When I tell you I cried through half of this novella I am not exaggerating. You most definitely need tissues and waterproof mascara while reading this one, but it was so fantastic! I’ve always loved Queen Lenora and Edward, as well as Nicholas and Henry. This novella had so many important moments in their lives that they just touch on in the books. We get them in detail, as well as getting to actually ‘meet’ Nicholas and Henry’s parents. It was a tearjerker in some ways, but it left my heart feeling full. Couples like Lenora and Edward will make you believe true love exists!

Review: The No-Show by Beth O'Leary

Pre-Order The No-Show

THE NO-SHOW begins on Valentine’s Day with three seemingly unrelated women realizing they’ve all been stood up by the man of their dreams… which just so happens to be the same man. Where is Joseph Carter? Is there more to him than meets the eye? And will they each untangle the truth before they all get their hearts broken?

All of these questions and more will be answered in this surprisingly moving contemporary romance that highlights the challenges of dating, grief, toxic relationships, and the strength of female friendships.

Early Praise for THE NO-SHOW

“O’Leary pulls off an impressive balancing act, unraveling each woman’s backstory while meticulously drawing connections between them and celebrating them for their differences. The attention to detail adds depth to each character—even Joseph will win readers over—and the twisty plot keeps readers both guessing what will happen next and rooting for happy endings across the board. This is a knockout.”—Publishers Weekly, starred review

“Beth O’Leary is that rare, one-in-a-million talent who can make you laugh, swoon, cry, and ache all in the same book, and The No-Show is her most moving yet. O’Leary’s wit, charm, and heart are on full, fantastic display in this cozy, surprising, and deeply satisfying novel. I couldn’t possibly love it more.”

Emily Henry, #1 New York Times bestselling author

One of 2022’s “best new book releases so far”—PopSugar

"Sweepingly romantic, bursting with character, and so, so clever I gasped out loud. Many writers make you feel good, but O'Leary also makes you think."—Gillian McAllister, Sunday Times bestselling author

CHRISTY'S REVIEW

The No-Show by Beth O’Leary was so intriguing and took me on a journey to a place I didn’t see coming. First off, in the synopsis this says it’s a rom-com, but let me tell you… it is not. I would not consider it a rom-com at all. I would consider it more of a contemporary fiction with some romance in there.

Joseph Carter was a hero I spent so much of the book conflicted about. I didn’t think I liked him, until I really did. Ugh. There is so much I want to say about his situation with Siobhan, Miranda, and Jane, but I don’t want to spoil this book. I’m so glad I didn’t know what was going on. After I finished this one I ended up telling my husband all about it and saying how good of a movie I think it would have made.

This is Beth’s best work since ‘The Flat Share’ in my opinion. Her writing is so developed, the characters were great, and the story its self had so much emotion, angst, and a touch of humor. It’s one of those books that was equal parts heartbreaking and heartwarming and kept me on the edge of my seat. I definitely recommend checking this one out. It was not what I expected in the best way possible.
