Falling in love with a Bennet is not an option.

My mother has summoned me home to take my place at Bower Bouquets, and as the heiress, I’m expected to do as I’m told. I’m expected to sit by her side as she does her best to decimate the Bennet family and their flower shop, Longbourne. I’m expected to play by her rules, or she’ll ruin me too.

But the day I crash into Marcus Bennet changes everything. And the kiss seals the deal. If my mother finds out, I’ll lose everything—my family, my life, my security. Worse, she’ll make sure the Bennets pay for my mistakes.

Falling in love with a Bennet is not an option.

But I might not have a choice.

I am loving these Bennet books! I was really looking forward to this book because not only was it Marcus book, but it was a forbidden romance. Two feuding families, and romance ensues. Gah! I love it.

A Bower and a Bennet could never fall in love… but when Maisie Bower runs into Marcus Bennet, its love at first site. Until she finds out his name. Then she knows. It can never be. Except the connection and chemistry these two have is undeniable. Even though it seems impossible, they have to at least try to make it work.

Maisie and Marcus were both fantastic. I loved them together. Their love was so beautiful and pure. I also loved the secondary characters, the entire Bennet family as well as Maisie’s dad. It was great to get some of the parent’s back stories as well. I just love all these characters and this family so much!

I never tire of reading Staci Hart’s romantic comedies. They’re always fresh, fun, and make me smile. I especially love the little bit of angst the forbidden aspect of this story had and I can’t wait to read more from this series. If you’re looking for a swoony, sweet, and steamy read, pick up Mum’s the Word.

We poured ourselves in until each overflowed with the other, until neither could be distinguished. Together, our hearts stopped. Together, they kicked back to life.

Spiked Love by Toni Aleo LIVE + REVIEW!

Friends to lovers hockey romance!
Spiked by Love by Toni Aleo is available now!

Allison Titov and Asher Brooks have been best friends their whole lives. Brought up together as part of the Assassins family, they might as well be related. But… Ally has never felt anything sisterly toward Asher.
In love with Asher since she was a teen, Ally has gone pro at keeping her feelings a secret. It’s been easy…as long as he’s stayed halfway across the country at college and she has a volleyball to slap her frustrations out on. But now, he’s home. And having his quick wit, heart-filling laugh, and adorkable smile so close is going to test her like never before.

After being dumped by his fiancĂ©e, Asher is at a loss what to do next. He craves stability, but with an unexpected kiss, Ally might as well have spiked Asher in the face with a volleyball. Now he’s faced with the dilemma of his life. Does he keep Ally in the friend zone, or does he take the ultimate risk for love?

If they’ve learned one thing growing up in the glow of hockey greatness, it’s that you can’t win it all if you don’t play the game. And by serving one hell of an ace into the middle of Asher’s safe little life, Ally is ready to claim victory.

Asher isn’t just some guy. He’s the guy.

Spiked by Love is the sixth book in the Bellevue Bullies series with tie-ins to the Assassins series as well. It can be read as a stand-alone, but these books are so character driven and interconnected I would recommend reading the other books first.

Allison Tivot and Asher Brooks have basically been best friends since birth. Not only are their moms close friends, but their dads played hockey for the Assassins. They have pretty much grown up together. Allison is in her last year of college and after graduating, Asher has moved back home to Nashville. The two pick up right where they left off like only best friends can. The more time they spend together, the more apparent it is that these two are much more than 'just friends'.

My favorite thing about these books is the family dynamic. It was great to be back with the Brooks family as well as the Tivots. I loved the scenes with the parents and siblings and I never get tired of reading about this group. Ally is one of those heroines I completely adored and I loved Asher lots too. Watching them go from best friends to realizing their real feelings for one another was a beautiful thing.

I've said it once and I'll say it a dozen more times I'm sure, but Toni Aleo writes the BEST sports romances. This was a little different as our heroine was a volleyball player and our hero wasn't very athletic, but I loved it just as much as the others. If you're looking for a steamy, sweet, and fun friends to lovers romance, I recommend picking this one up!

About the Author:

My name is Toni Aleo and I’m a total dork.
I am a wife, mother of two and a bulldog, and also a hopeless romantic.
I am the biggest Shea Weber fan ever, and can be found during hockey season with my nose pressed against the Bridgestone Arena’s glass, watching my Nashville Predators play!
When my nose isn’t pressed against the glass, I enjoy going to my husband and son’s hockey games, my daughter’s dance competition, hanging with my best friends, taking pictures, scrapbooking, and reading the latest romance novel.
I have a slight Disney and Harry Potter obsession, I love things that sparkle, I love the color pink, I might have been a Disney Princess in a past life… probably Belle.
… and did I mention I love hockey?

That Night is KI Lynn's newest stand-alone romance. It's got a surprise baby, a workplace romance, and a bit of insta-love. And I couldn't put it down. I always enjoy KI Lynn's writing and this was such an easy to read romance.

Natasha is out for New Years Eve and meets a guy... this guy enthralls her from the first moment she lays eyes on him. His name is Richard and they share one magical night together, then she goes back home to her home in Indianapolis. Imagine her surprise when a few months later she finds out she's pregnant. And a few days later she runs into the elusive Richard again. In her office.

Richard and Natasha have a lot of chemistry, but their relationship isn't easy. Not only is there a bit of distance between them, but Richard is married to his job and often puts it over everything. It takes something big to happen for him to change his ways.

If you're looking for a quick read that will hold your attention from start to finish I recommend this one. It's steamy, fun, and has just enough emotion to pull you in to Natasha and Richard's love story.

Review: The Trade by Meghan Quinn

Can you pinpoint a time in your life where you realized you are completely and utterly screwed?

I can. I got the dreaded phone call, the one every baseball player hopes and prays never comes.

I was traded. Yeah, that phone call.

Traded from my long time team of over ten years. And not just to any team, but my childhood rivals; the Chicago Rebels.

Completely and utterly screwed, right? Wrong. The trade was the least of my concerns.

I met a girl. Natalie. Man, she's perfect.

I swore I would never get involved with anyone during the season. Too complicated. But can you believe I have zero restraint when it comes to this girl? I couldn't get her out of my head and the more I talked to her, the more I realized I needed her in my life.

So what's the problem? Why am I screwed? Because, Natalie, the girl I can't stop crushing on, yeah . . . she's married.

At least, that's what I was told . . .

Baseball isn’t the only thing Cory Potter is really good at.

From the moment we met Cory Potter, I knew I wanted his book. This was one of my most highly anticipated reads because of Cory. I fell for him in 'The Dugout' and I was dying for his story. Cory did not disappoint me. I loved him just as much as I thought I would.

Cory is a legend in baseball. He’s played for Baltimore since his rookie season and is a fan favorite there. Now, in his early 30’s, the unthinkable happens… he gets traded. To his most hated team in the league. Cory is now a Rebel and he doesn’t know what to do with this. The only plus side is he’s in Chicago where his sister Milly is, along with his friends.

Cory has always put baseball first. He’s always felt that it was unfair to have a serious relationship when his career is so demanding. His plan was to settle down when he retired from the sport. Then he met Natalie. Natalie is Jason Orsen’s (Cory’s teammate and friend) sister. Due to some things going on in her life, Cory doesn’t think he has a chance with her. But he couldn't be more wrong.

Ask anyone who knows me, I’m the nice guy, the dependable guy, the leader with a heart. I don’t screw women over, ever.
Cory is my favorite hero in this series. I couldn’t have loved him more. I loved how kind and sweet he was, and all the stress he was under broke my heart. Natalie was great for Cory. She was just the kind of girl he needed and seeing as her brother is also a player, she understands the demands of the job better than most. I understood the stress and the tension and the build up to the conflict in this story, but I wish it wouldn’t have caused such a long separation.  If it wasn’t for that, I think this would have been a 5 star read. Either way, I still loved it to pieces and it was a strong 4/4.5.

When it comes to romantic comedies, Meghan Quinn is one of my favorite authors. This sports-romance/rom-com series have been great for me. I love this group of friends so much. This book made me laugh so hard, it had just the right amount of angst, and gave me all the feels. I love these characters a ton and I hope there is more to come from this group! The Trade is a must read.

I love the way he holds on to me, as if he needs me to be connected to him. And I love the way he makes me feel, like I’m whole again.
