"On the Honey Side is as heartwarming as it is hilarious. It blends the humor of matchmaking with the heat of a slow burn for a cocktail I can't resist and will beg for time and time again. Sweet, touching, and subtly steamy, it was the perfect romantic comedy to get lost in at the end of a hectic day. An easy five-star and must read of 2022!" - bestselling author Kandi Steiner

No one can ever have Keaton Meyer.
Least of all me.
The brooding construction manager is a man of myth and legend, rarely seen in the wild. Once upon a time, he was the star quarterback, the smiling homecoming king, royalty in our small town. Until tragedy struck. And then he disappeared completely.
Now he’s resurfaced, and I can’t keep my eyes off him.
He’s an island surrounded by lava, bound by a desert and guarded by dragons. I don’t stand a sunshine’s chance in a hail storm.
Our siblings disagree and are out to prove it, nudging us into each other in the hopes we’ll fall. But with our town in tumult and the two of us firmly in the middle, nothing between us is easy. And when he’s faced with an impossible decision, I learn the truth of what I already knew.
No one can have Keaton Meyer.
And I have the broken heart to prove it.

This is my favorite kind of small town romance. One where the town feels alive and almost like a character itself. One with so much heart and emotion. I loved Daisy and Keaton’s story so much!

Daisy Blum is one of the ‘cursed’ Blum sisters. Now that her sister Jo has found love, maybe Daisy can too. She did once, a long time ago, but her longtime boyfriend passed away when they were teenagers and she’s been single ever since.

Keaton lost his wife years ago and aside from working the family business and spending time with his brothers, he’s been a bit of a recluse in town. Daisy has had a crush on Keaton for some time, but they’ve never spent much time together. Until they decide to join forces and help the homeless community that has overwhelmed their small town.
”I don't know how to do this, Daisy."
"Neither do I. Can we figure it out together?”

I loved the community aspect of the story, the family ties on both sides, and Daisy especially. She was just wonderful. It took Keaton more time to trust and come around- I wish he would have a little quicker but getting his perspective let us see what was really holding him back.

This can definitely be read as a stand-alone but I enjoy this world and these characters so much I would recommend checking out the others in this series! If you’re looking for a beautiful friends to lovers, small town romance that is sweet and charming with just enough emotion and angst pick this up!

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life -- a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can't forget that. She's also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She's been a wife, though she's certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She's also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she's been drinking whiskey. When she's not writing, she's reading, sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.

Review: Full Flight by Ashley Schumacher

Everyone else in the tiny town of Enfield, Texas calls fall football season, but for the forty-three members of the Fighting Enfield Marching Band, it’s contest season. And for new saxophonist Anna James, it’s her first chance to prove herself as the great musician she’s trying hard to be.

When she’s assigned a duet with mellophone player Weston Ryan, the boy her small-minded town thinks of as nothing but trouble, she’s equal parts thrilled and intimidated. But as he helps her with the duet, and she sees the smile he seems to save just for her, she can’t help but feel like she’s helping him with something too.

After her strict parents find out she’s been secretly seeing him and keep them apart, together they learn what it truly means to fight for something they love. With the marching contest nearing, and the two falling hard for one another, the unthinkable happens, and Anna is left grappling for a way forward without Weston.

A heartbreaking novel about finding your first love and what happens when it's over too soon. Ashley Schumacher’s Full Flight is about how first love shapes us—even after it’s gone.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was wonderful and terrible all at the same time. Wonderful because I loved the characters, the writing, and so much of the story. Terrible… because I spent the whole last 20% sobbing in my pillow. I love emotional books but this was a little much for me.

Anna James need help with a duet in marching band. She started late and is behind those band members that have been doing it forever. Weston Ryan is the guy to help her. Weston and Anna come from a small town and Weston doesn’t quite fit in. But he fits with Anna. They become friends and so much more. They relate to each other and I loved them together.

Anna’s parents are a bit strict and don’t want her dating anyone, especially someone like Weston, but they come around. I loved watching these two fall in love. Reading about first loves are just so dang beautiful. I truly loved Weston, Anna, as well as their friends Ratio and Andy. This could have been such a sweet YA romance, but then it wouldn’t have been an Ashley Schumacher story, would it?

This author always seems to bring the feels. This one was so emotional. It tackles grief and loss and you’re going to need some Kleenex for this one. I would recommend this one, but be prepared for all the feels.

Synopsis for The Legacy, Book One:

HE'S MY RIVER . . . I WANT TO DROWN IN HIM.

Heir to a business empire, Hayes Rivers was commanding, powerful, and sexy as hell.

When our paths crossed at a gorgeous seaside villa in Italy, sparks flew at first glance.

It wasn’t just my body he set on fire;

I was enthralled by every fascinating, filthy word that fell from his beautiful lips.

And beneath his billionaire Master of the Universe facade beat a tender, fiercely loyal heart.

When our trip was over, and our real lives were beckoning, neither of us was ready to say goodbye.

Even though we came from completely different worlds, and the price of admission to his was steep;

Hayes had won my heart, and I was willing to pay it.

Loving him was like jumping into an untamed river; it consumed me, body and soul. And I loved every minute of it.

But nothing could prepare us for the shocking pieces of his past that ripped through us like a hurricane.

Will our love be enough to shelter from the storm's rage?

Or will it wash away everything we built?

Audio Review: A Chance for Us by Corinne Michaels

New York Times Bestselling author Corinne Michaels returns to the Willow Creek Valley Series in this stunning small town/fake marriage romance.

My marriage started as a lie.

But some lies are worth telling.

My father’s dying wish was to walk me down the aisle, and I’d do anything for him.

Even marry a man I don’t love.

So when my fiancé jilts me only days before the ceremony, I turn to my college friend, Oliver Parkerson, and convince him to marry me.

My family hasn’t met either man, so I’m confident we can pull this off.

But the feelings, our touches, the way my heart beats for him... none of it feels pretend. The way he holds me at night and carries me through loss tells me he’s not acting either.

I didn't mean to fall for my fake husband, but real love was the one thing I couldn't predict.

Except, nothing built on lies can last—I know that better than anyone.

But the truth might tear us apart forever.

Christy's Review:

A Chance for Us (Willow Creek Valley, #4)A Chance for Us by Corinne Michaels

4.5 stars

It was great being back in Willow Creek Valley! I couldn’t wait to get to Oliver’s book. Fake dating, marriage of convince, sigh. I love these books!

Maren’s wedding gets called off just days before she’s supposed to wed. It’s so important to her that she gets married… less important is who the groom is. Maren’s father is dying and more than anything, he wants to walk her down the isle. Oliver and Maren have been friends since college so he says yes.

This fake marriage turns into real feelings. That’s the thing I love about these kinds of books. Watching friendship turn into so much more. Oliver and Maren together… I just adored them. This book was so emotional but also had its fun/funny moments. I loved the family dynamic and the small town feel.

This series is truly fantastic. Aside from Stella’s book which was my absolute favorite, I think this was the next best one IMO. You honestly can’t go wrong with any Corinne book though. She writes with so much heart and skill. I give this one 4.5 stars and highly recommend it!
