REANELL'S REVIEW-
5 'Fuck Cancer' Stars
5 'Fuck Cancer' Stars
I absolutely loved this book. Tara Sivec is probably the only person who can take something so serious and turn it completely around where it isn't so sad. Don't get me wrong, it's still sad, but she makes the sad better. The antics of the characters in this book to make Claire feel better, or Carter, were HILARIOUS!! I think my favorite part was "Shaved Pussy" that scene was emotional but she was able to pull it around and make me laugh my ass off.
Make sure you read Tara's note in the beginning so you can understand why Tara wrote this book. It really changes your perspective. Because when life throws that ugly word CANCER at you, you need people to help you see the bright side of things. You need the people that are going to scream with you "FUCK CANCER".
Tara yet again gets 5 stars from me. She is one of those writers that can write about anything and make it good. I can't wait to see what else she has in store for us in the future.
CHRISTY'S REVIEW-
Tara Sivec may be one of the only authors out there that can take a subject like cancer and make you not even feel bad about laughing so hard your about to pee your pants while reading. She’s just that kind of author. I have been obsessed with her Chocolate Lover’s series since I first read Seductions & Snacks. They are some of the funniest books I have EVER read. The characters in this series have become like friends or family to us readers. So to know one of my girls, Liz or Claire has breast cancer... it’s not easy to read about.
If you’ve ever had someone you love get cancer, or you’ve lost a loved one from cancer, you have maybe screamed this once or twice... I know the main characters in this story aren’t shy to say it.
Liz and Claire have been best friends since high school. But they are more than just friends. They are each others person, soul mates, as close as close could be. Dealing with one of them being sick isn’t easy. Everyone has a different way to deal with illness. It’s incredibly hard and stressful and down right scary. The two of them and the rest of the crew try to maneuver this the best way they can. With lots of laughs, inappropriateness, and lots of love.
This is not only a story about cancer, it’s a story about love, friendship, and supporting those you love. It’s a story that gave me so many feelings.
Reading this novella was a roller coaster of emotions for me. I blubbered like a baby half the time, but this is a Tara Sivec book, so you know I laughed hysterically through the tears. A really great read. And know that this and every October, all proceeds will go to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and Living Beyond Breast Cancer.
