Sin & Suffer is the highly anticipated sequel to Ruin & Rule. Let me tell you, after I read Ruin & Rule I was DYING to see what happened next! Pepper Winters took us on one wild ride and left us with a shocker of an ending! Cleo and Art are two characters that are damaged, yet strong. With all the twists and turns, I’m so happy about where the story took us. 

I don’t want to get spoiler-y and go into the story, but we all know how important revenge is to Kill. That is a huge part of the story. We also get tons of growth between Cleo and Kill. Their relationship really flourishes in this story, even with all going on. I loved this one lots, but for me, it missed the 5 star mark just a bit. It felt a little too long at times, and most of the time it kept my interest, but other times I skimmed a bit. 

Pepper Winters doesn’t give us a traditional MC book with this series. Nothing is traditional about her stories and I love her for that. Sin & Suffer was suspenseful, sexy, dark, gritty and unique. It was also an all consuming love story with vengeance and secrets. I love books that keep me on the edge of my seat, keep me thinking and keep me guessing. Sin & Suffer did that. I would recommend this one to all fans of darker romances!

“NO!”

I pushed back, gripping the handrails of the private jet, throwing my weight against Daniel’s incessant pushing. “Stop!”

“Get up the fucking stairs, Weaver.” Daniel jabbed his elbow into my spine.

I stumbled, bashing my knee against the high tread. “You can’t do this!”

Daniel cackled. “I think you’ll find we can.” He shoved me higher.

My heart hurt—as if every mile between us and Hawksridge was a blade slicing me further from Jethro’s protection.

Time once again stole my life.

One moment, I’d been love-bruised and adored, tiptoeing back into the Hall; the next I was trapped, forced to dress in jeans and a hoody, and obey Daniel as he lurked in my doorway, barking orders to pack a few meagre belongings.

My favorite types of books are the ones that are dark and twisted. The stories that keep me on the edge of my seat, the ones that make my heart beat fast and my palms sweat. Pepper Winter's Indebted series does that. Every single installment makes my heart race and shocks me with it's twists and turns. Fourth Debt is no exception. Pepper is a brilliant author and she really shines with this story. 

That cliffhanger in the last book just about killed me. I can't describe how happy I was to see this book pop up on my kindle! What's going on? Who do we trust? Will love save them or ruin them? Well, I can tell you this... you'll have to read to find out! 

I devoured this story and I can't wait to see what's in store next! Bring on the rest of this deliciously dark series!!!

Pepper Winters is the queen of dark romance. She is absolutely one of my favorites. She writes the best tortured heroes, twists, turns and I love her writing style. Ruin & Rule is gritty, dark and suspenseful. It’s a story that kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved watching how everything started to connect towards the end. After finishing it, I’m desperate for the next. I can’t wait to see how the rest of their story unfolds.

There is so much I want to say about this story, but I feel like any little thing could potentially spoil something. And I love that this story had so many twists, turns and surprises so I won’t do that.

 


Just like all of Peppers books, Ruin & Rule is fast paced, dark and twisted. It also had an element of almost… sweetness at times. It surprised me but in a good way. To be honest, I have no idea why this book wasn’t a 5 star read for me. Honestly, it took me a while to really get into the story and just didn’t give me that 5 star feel all her other books have given me. I still enjoyed it lots and would highly recommend. I’m anxious to read the sequel and only wish it was coming out sooner!
