LIVE!!! Finding Storm by Samantha Towle

The son of an icon.

He was a legend. Rock royalty.

A man I never met.

But I’m measured against him in every aspect of my life.

The only time I feel like me … the real me … is when I’m onstage with my band. But the more

we grow in popularity, the more people compare me to him.

I’m not him. And I never will be. If only everyone could figure that out for themselves.

I need a break from it all.

Then, a confrontation has me jumping in my carputting LA in my rearview mirror. And a

stupid mistake ends up with my car on the side of the road. And straight into the path of

girl who is the exact opposite of everyone else in my life.

She’s like everything I used to know.

And she has no clue who I am.

Even if she did, I don’t think she’d care.

She thinks I’m cavalier

I think she’s intriguing. And hot. Let’s not forget hot.

I’m stuck in this town overnight while my car is being fixed. But I’m thinking I’m gonna stick

around abit longer.

I’m Storm Slaterlead guitarist in Slater Raze and the only child of the late, great Jonny

Creed. But, here, right now … I’m nobody. Just a regular guy.

I’m liking it a whole lot

And I’m liking her even more

It felt great to be back into TMS world. Storm Slater is a character I’ve been curious about ever since he was introduced in the earlier books. He’s the only child of Jonny Creed and now he’s all grown up and the lead guitarist of his own band, Slater Raze.

Storm is in a popular band, has a great family and friends, but he’s bored with his life. Something is just… off. When he’s doing an interview and gets some shocking news, he takes off. He ends up driving his car across state lines and ends up in Arizona. Where his car promptly breaks down leaving him stranded.

Stevie Cavalli helps run her family’s B&B and occasionally helps out with her dad and brother’s auto shop. When they get a call for a tow, she is asked to help and goes. She sees Storm and sparks fly between them. Stevie adores 80’s music and has no clue who Storm is. She just knows he’s good looking and drives a nice car. Storm is relieved to meet someone who doesn’t know him and treats him like a normal guy. These two really hit it off.

While Storm’s car is getting fixed, he stays at the B&B. He and Stevie connect in a way he's never connected with anyone. She feels it too. Sooner or later Storm will have to get back to his life and face everything going on in LA, but for now, he’s happy to be where Stevie is.

I don’t think I’ll ever get close enough to Stevie. I want to be inside of her in every way that matters. Inside of her the way she’s inside me. She’s under my skin. It’s crazy. I’ve never felt the way I do with her or about her ever before.

My favorite thing about this book was Stevie. She was the most fun heroine I’ve read in the longest time. I got a kick out of her. I loved her relationship with her family, how she treated Storm before and after knowing who he was, and how she was genuinely and unabashedly herself. At the start I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about this book, but then Stevie showed up and from there, it was perfect. I loved Storm, too. He had a broody/damaged vibe early on, but Stevie lighted him up and was exactly the girl he needed.

This was such a sweet and romantic book. It was also fun, sexy, and made me laugh more than once. I love Samantha Towle’s writing and I can't get enough of these boys! I hope we get more books from this new band, because I definitely want to know more about Storm’s friends!

Review: River Wild by Samantha Towle

A new town. A new identity. Pregnant and alone.
And far away from a past that can never find me.

River Wild.
Moody. Sullen. Asshole.
And my new neighbor.

I have no interest in befriending River. And he definitely doesn’t want to be befriended by me.

Then, he helps me rescue an abandoned dog. And, that day, I see something in his eyes that reflects back in my own. Sadness. Pain. Loneliness.

I know all of those things well.

An unwanted and unexpected friendship that somehow works. Then, without warning, it turns into something more.

River and I both have our secrets, and that’s okay. Because I understand him. And he understands me.

For the first time in my life, I have something I never thought I would have—happiness.

But happiness isn’t forever. Not for people like me.

Especially not when my past is waiting just around the corner, ready to come and take it all away.

River Wild was a quick read for me, but it wasn’t an easy one. From the very start, both of these main characters stories broke my heart. It’s one of those books that you won’t want to put down. All I wanted for these two is to find the love and happiness they both deserved.

Carrie Ford is new in town. She’s pregnant, alone, and finally away from her abusive husband that she worked so hard to escape. She gets a place to stay, a job, and everything is going good. All but her neighbor, River Wild. River is a bit of a jerk. He’s never in a good mood and doesn’t really speak to anyone. But with time, he grows on Carrie and she starts to befriend him.

River can seem like a real ass, but you get all these glimpses into his past and you realize exactly why he is the way he is. Both he and Carrie deserve so much more than they were given. They are two broken souls who find healing in one another, and it’s a beautiful thing.

Sometimes, I feel like he's the other half of my soul. The part I was missing but didn't realise until the day when I looked into his eyes and saw him. The real him.

I loved watching the friendship between River and Carrie develop. You can tell River hasn’t had many friends. It was endearing. I also really loved watching it turn into more. No one deserved a beautiful love story more than these two. And watching how River cared for Carrie when she was pregnant and after the baby was born, sigh. It was so sweet.

Of course, there was a bit of drama and angst towards the end that had me on the edge of my seat, but overall I was very happy with the way it turned out. This definitely has some more serious themes/subjects, but was well worth the read.
“You’re brave, Red. And you make me want to be brave, too.”

Christy's Review:

description

Sigh. I love a good second chance romance! I’m a huge fan of Samantha Towle’s books, and when I heard she had a new one out and saw that cover, I knew I needed to read it asap! Full of angst, steam, and some feels to top it off, this was another win from Towle!

Zeus Kincaid and Cameron Reed used to be the center of each others worlds. Cam was dancing in Juilliard and Zeus was on his way to being one of the biggest boxers in the world, when suddenly, Zeus ends it. One day these two are happy and in love, then it’s over. Cam’s heart was broken but she moved on. She had no choice but to move forward.

The man is my weakness. My downfall. My ruin. He always has been. And it seems that he always will be.
Fast forward about five years later and Cam and Zeus run into each other again. Every thing in their lives have changed, but one thing has stayed the same. Those feelings, that pull they feel to each other is still there. I love being engrossed in a story and you can just feel the chemistry and connection the characters have. It was like that with Cam and Zeus.

I wish I could say things were easy for them when they were back in each others lives, but they weren’t. Zeus gave Cam some major trust issues and he has to earn his place back in her world. I could understand why Zeus did some of the things he did, but I am glad Cam didn’t let him off too easy. He deserved to have to work for her after all he put her through.

"You've been mine since the moment I saw you. That's never going to change.”
Ruin was a fast paced read that I flew through. I get so much joy reading a story that I don’t want to put down, and it’s getting more rare these days. Cam and Zeus had a sexy slow burn, second chance romance. I enjoyed this one from start to finish and I only hope that the author gives us more from this world! Though Zeus and Cam’s story is complete, I would LOVE a book about each of Zeus’s siblings!

Wardrobe Malfunction by Samantha Towle

From New York Times bestselling author, Samantha Towle, comes a new standalone romantic comedy.

Vaughn West, Hollywood heartthrob, has been at the top of his game for years. He thinks he’s untouchable—until a betrayal brings him spiraling down. Now, everyone pities him, and if there’s one thing Vaughn hates, it’s pity.

After a few months of working his way through every available actress, pop star, model, and waitress in California, Vaughn needs to get his life back on track and focus on what he does best—making hit movies.

Charlotte Michaels is in love. Just not with one person.
Louis Vuitton…
Christian Dior…
Valentino…
Gucci…
And the list goes on.

Sadly, Charly’s limited bank account doesn’t allow her those luxuries, and the closest she gets are lucky finds in charity shops and working closely with some of those names in her job as a wardrobe assistant.

Now, Charly has landed the mother of all jobs—working on the new Vaughn West movie. Excited doesn’t even cut it.

Only things don’t go as planned, and it turns out that Vaughn is actually a jerk. A hot jerk, but a jerk nonetheless.

So, why do their clothes keep falling off whenever they’re around each other? And why can’t Charly keep her mind in the closet and off Vaughn?

Getting mixed up with a smart-mouthed, fashion-obsessed wardrobe assistant is the last thing Vaughn needs.

Getting mixed up with an arrogant, self-centered, obnoxious, jumped-up actor who has a lack of respect for fashion is the last thing Charly needs.

Things are about to get hot, dirty, and messy in Hollywood. Very messy. Especially if Charly’s closely guarded secret falls out of her closet.

Christy's Review:

4.5 stars!

   photo 5832CA0E-3D01-4800-8747-ED62344CDC45_zpsaqzava1l.jpg

I love when I’m reading a book and have a huge smile on my face the entire time. It doesn’t happen often, but Wardrobe Malfunction had me grinning from ear to ear. Samantha Towle knocked it out of the park with this fun, lighthearted, sexy, and sweet standalone romantic comedy.

Vaughn West is a big time Hollywood actor who’s having a rough time. He’s been on top of his game when it comes to acting, but his personal life is a mess. After his relationship fell apart in the worst way possible, he’s started to go downhill. He gets offered the role of a lifetime and he’s got to get it together for the sake of the movie. Everything is going good. Then he meets Charly.

Charlotte Michaels is a wardrobe assistant and she’s just got offered the biggest opportunity of her career. Working as Vaughn West wardrobe assistant in a huge film. She couldn’t be more excited. Then she meets Vaughn. Things don’t go quite as Charly imagines when they meet. Charly is nervous and Vaughn is a bit of a jerk. Even with all that. it’s pretty apparent that these two are attracted to one another, and their banter is fantastic. I loved the back and forth.

The more Vaughn and Charly are around each other, the more their back and forth continues. Eventually, the sexual tension between them is so on fire, it nearly explodes. Even though Vaughn and Charly can’t really be together (Vaughn needs to appear to be on his best behavior and Charly has something she’s not told Vaughn) they can’t keep their hands off one another.

I know this is how it’s always going to be with Charly and me. And I like it. I like the challenge she gives me.

I loved that there was so much more than just sexy times between these two. They grew to have a friendship and genuinely cared for one another. Charly was a fun and fantastic heroine. I adored her and her feisty and fun personality. Vaughn was also wonderful. He made me laugh more times than I could count.

Wardrobe Malfunction was truly a gem of a book. Between the sweet moments between Vaughn and Charly, the steamy scenes, the parts that made me crack up laughing, and even a few moments that made me feel- it was a fabulous read.
