Mia Sheridan has written another exquisitely beautiful, emotional, and stunning romance. This one grabbed me from the start and not only did the present romance captivate me, but I was also pulled in by the past. Each story was interesting and made me fall in love. This story had so many feels and felt like a lot of Mia's older books that I love so much.

Clara Campbell is a ballerina who is new to NOLA. She is slowly making friends with her neighbors, but spends most of her time dancing. When she hears the legend of a tragic love story that took place in the 1800's, she goes to that plantation to investigate. There is something about that story that fills her with the need to find out more. When she ends up at the Windisle Plantation, she doesn't expect anyone to be there. It's supposedly been abandoned for quite some time. But there, she meets Jonah.

Jonah's life used to be exciting. He was a young and handsome attorney on the rise to the top of his law firm. He took one case... one case he never should have taken, and everything changed. Now, he's a hermit. He lives at his family's plantation and doesn't want to see anyone. Or more importantly, doesn't want anyone to see him. Then he meets Clara. And everything changes. Everything.

Clara and Jonah develop a friendship. Both are lonely and in need of companionship, and even though Jonah doesn't want to be seen, he lets Clara in where it really counts. His heart.    

He was beauty and pain, glory and suffering, vengeance and grace, and all things made stronger and more meaningful because they have an opposite. 

These two together... sigh. I loved them both so much. Jonah was very much the damaged and tortured hero I love to read about. Clara was a strong heroine who helped him come out of his shell. But she only helped so much, Jonah was strong enough to pull himself out of it, too. Clara was just that final push he needed.

The Wish Collector takes place in New Orleans. The majority of the story takes place in current times, but there are quite a few chapters that take place in the mid-late 1800's. Those chapters sort of felt like a mystery at first. Each chapter from the past gave us a new discovery and was connected in a way to the present. I loved both of the romances, but Jonah and Clara's was so beautiful. It was such a slow burn, friends to lovers tale and I couldn't get enough.

If you're looking for a gorgeous romance that's character driven, magical, equal parts heartbreaking and heartwarming, and will enchant you, pick up The Wish Collector. The cover is so beautiful and the story is a unique one of love, tragedy, redemption, forgiveness, and growth. Mia did an amazing job with this story and I highly recommend it.

Most of All You is another awe-inspiring story by Mia Sheridan. Mia is a true story-teller and always writes meaningful books that leave my heart happy. This book had the emotion, romance, and unique plot that always comes with a Mia book.

I don’t want to talk at all about Gabriel or Crystal’s story. Their pasts play a huge role in their present and I loved how that was incorporated in the story. Gabriel was such a fantastic hero. I felt for him, adored him, and fell for him. Crystal on the other hand… well, Crystal has led a life many don’t understand. She’s made choices that a lot of us would never make. What I loved about this story is that it really made me think about ‘choices’. Something being a choice is kind of subjective. Depending on your past and situation, sometimes ‘choices’ are anything but. 


 

Choice is such a loaded word, isn’t it? Choices, though our own, were so weighted down with all the things that had come before, so stained with the messes of our past.

This one took me a while to get into, which isn’t normal for a Mia book. That’s the only reason it’s not a five star read for me. The beginning felt a bit on the slow side and it struggled with keeping my interest. Once the story picked up (maybe around 30-40% for me) I was completely captivated. There wasn't a thing about the last half I would change.

And, maybe, I thought, that was what love was supposed to do—peel your layers back and uncover all your tender spots so they, too, could be healed.

My favorite part of this story was the healing and growth. Nothing makes me happier in a story than to see characters grow and change on their own, and the same characters helping heal each other. Broken souls coming together and healing… there is nothing better. Most of All You is one of those books that will stay with you. These two characters have a beautiful journey that isn’t always easy, but most definitely worth it. An enjoyable, heart-warming read!

Preston’s Honor is inspired by the Gemini sign in Mia Sheridan’s signs of love series. This book is 100% a stand alone, but I love that all Mia’s stories are connected in this way. And I’m still waiting for my sign to be featured… ;) Anyway- the Gemini tale of Zeus and Leda’s twin sons influenced this book. We start with two identical twin brothers. Preston and Cole….

Preston and Cole may be identical in looks, but their personalities couldn’t be more different. Cole is fun loving, has a big presence, and is the guy everyone is friends with. Preston is a little more on the quiet side, protective of those he cares for, and full of honor. Annalia has lived near them and has been friends with them since she was a child. Lia comes from a whole different world then they do. The boys live on a big farm, where as Lia is the daughter of a single illegal Mexican woman. Their lives are totally different. Both of the boys have cared for Lia since she was a child. As they grow older, their feelings change.

Cole and Preston both care for Lia, but Preston’s feelings run much deeper than Coles. When it comes time to decide who will pursue Lia, Preston makes a mistake he will end up regretting for a long time to come…

What happened when your words agreed to something but your heart couldn’t be swayed?

The brothers in this story were both lovable in different ways. I really loved Cole and his free spirit attitude, but I felt from the start Preston was the one who deserved Lia. I love the little moments that were special between the two of them. Preston was one of those characters that you couldn’t not love. He’s a special guy.

 

I did end up loving Annalia, but there were moments in the story I had mixed feelings about her and her choices. I guess when it comes down to it, I can understand why she did the things she did… but being in her shoes, I don’t think it’s something I could ever do. Still- I can sympathize with her situation. I don't want to give away a big part of the plot, but once you’ve read the book I think you’ll understand what I’m trying to say. What I did love about Lia was her growth and how she came into her own. Also, I loved the fact that she was strong and self sufficient. She was kind and helpful to those that didn’t deserve it. At heart, I think she is an incredible human being.

Lia and Preston’s story is complicated. It’s not easy, it’s not painless, and it’s got moments of tragedy woven in with the moments of love. Preston’s Honor is full of emotion, angst, and heartache. It’s also a stunningly beautiful, poignant and equal parts heart-wrenching and heart-warming read. I loved the romance aspect, but I equally loved the character growth and development and the bigger picture. Mia’s writing is always flawless. This is a must read story and one I feel will stay with me!

  Midnight Lily

. I’m not sure what to say about this book. It may be the hardest book I’ve ever had to review. I feel like anything I say will be spoiler-ish so it will be short and sweet.

Is this like any other book Mia Sheridan has written? No. It’s completely different. Don’t go in expecting this to be anything like her other books. Her writing is amazing as always, but the story is different than anything I’ve ever read.

Both of these characters touched me. Both were imperfect in a lot of ways, but their love story was hauntingly beautiful and completely all-consuming. The beginning did have a bit of a slow start, but once it gripped me I couldn't put it down.

 


I’m not sure if I have ever been as shocked in a book as I was while reading this. Midnight Lily truly surprised me. I found myself re-reading several things after finishing the book. My mind was blown and I didn’t know how to think or feel. I was overwhelmed. I’m still overwhelmed and it’s been days.

If you’re looking for an unconventional, evocative, beautiful and emotional read- I would recommend this one. Go in blind and enjoy the twists, turns, surprises and the feels. It’s a story that I can say I’ll never forget and gets 5 stars from me!

5 'Little Witch' stars!

 

Mia Sheridan is one of those authors who never disappoints. When I’m reading a book of hers, I know it will hit me in the feels. I know it will have superb writing and an original concept. I know even if her characters are broken, they will be strong and preserver. I love this about her. This is why she’s an auto-buy author for me. When I saw she had a new book releasing, I knew my schedule was packed and I didn’t have time to read it, but I made time- and I’m so happy I did! I loved this book!

Kira Dallaire has all kinds of wild or ‘big ideas’. She is not in the best place right now and has to come up with something. When she meets Grayson Hawthorn she devises a plan… no one is going to save Kira. She’ll just save her self.

 

Kira and Grayson couldn’t be more different if they tried. But they have one thing in common. They need each other. They are both desperate in one way or another and the other person is their only hope. As much as Grayson does not want to take this woman up on her usual business arrangement, he wants to save his family’s vineyard more than anything so he does.

With Grayson’s scaly and abrupt personality and Kira’s fiery and feisty one, they take to the nicknames “Dragon and Little Witch”. I found this adorable.

 

Grayson and Kira’s personalities do not mesh. They are both headstrong and stubborn. Kira is one of the most kind and selfless heroines, but she also stands her ground. I think she is my favorite heroine out of all of Mia’s books. Her personality was so fun and she was a generous and loving soul. Grayson was broken, damaged from a childhood and a past that haunted him. He does not trust easily. He does not love easily. And he doesn’t let people in. He doesn’t need anyone to help him or heal him. But spending so much time with Kira makes him question all that.

Grayson found himself wanting Kira more and more. As he continued to see the ‘real her’ and not who he thought she was, his desire for her only grew.

My desire for her burned, scalding my heart. Beautiful, willful, tender, stubborn, compassionate, infuriating little witch.

 

As you can tell, I loved and adored Kira, Grayson was wonderful too, but there were other characters that really stuck out to me as well. Charlotte and Walter were fantastic as was Shane. Even though Grayson felt he never really had anyone in his corner, that wasn’t true. Those people were there for him all along whether he saw it or not. Even though Kira’s Gram wasn’t in the book, I loved her presence- especially in the beginning. I was very close to my Gran and she was the wisest person I knew so these quotes really stood out to me and moved me.
 

Today may be a very bad day, but tomorrow may be the best day of your life. You just have to hang on until you get there.

Watch what people do when they think no one’s watching, love. That’s how you know who they really are.

In this story, Mia shows us that love is not perfect. Sometimes life is painful and hard. Sometimes love isn’t easy- but it’s worth it.

 

   

“There is always pain in this life. Not just for me, not just for you- for everyone. You can’t avoid it. And sometimes the pain is so great, it feels as if it carves out the very essence of who you are. But it doesn’t, not if you don’t allow it to. It carves out a place in you, yes, but love is meant to fill that space. If you let it, pain makes more space for love within you. And the love we carry inside makes us strong when nothing else can.”

Grayson’s Vow is a gorgeous and emotional story about love, strength and perseverance. It was also a lot of fun to read. It made me cry, it made me smile and it made me feel. I’m not sure if there is a better combination out there. I love books that make me feel, but also make me laugh and smile. It was the perfect mix.  A sure sign I loved a book is when I stayed up all night and read it cover to cover and thats exactly what I did with this one! Grayson’s Vow is one I highly recommend!
