Jane

I’ve always been on my own. My life used to consist of nothing but work, keeping Allen out of trouble, and if I had time, sleep. Then I became their maid.

Max

Every day more than half a million people tune in to watch my show. They trust me. I know it’s because I’m the only son of the prominent Emerson family. However, I like to believe it because I’m honest no matter what story I report on. I’m honest about everything but the man I’ve been f**king for the last four years… and now her.

Wesley

I want three things: First, Maxwell Emerson and Jane Chapman both in my bed. Second, to be the best bloody chef in the country. Third, to figure out how to simultaneously get the first and second things I want without any of us getting hurt.

THREE PEOPLE.

ONE LOVE STORY….

Christy's 5 star review!

   photo 4EC61D2E-8BA2-4B36-A05C-855D357CC624_zps9h4lf3dk.jpg

I’m going to start this review off with a warning… Once you start The Anatomy of Jane, clear your schedule. Seriously. You won’t be able to put this one down! At the end of every chapter you’ll be wanting more! I love books with a taboo element, but this book was special in so many ways besides being just taboo. Was it steamy? Hell yes. Off the charts. But that’s not all it was. It had an interesting and captivating story, strong and fascinating characters and a lot of heart!

Jane Chapman hasn’t had the easiest life. She doesn’t have a family and she’s had to work hard for everything she has. Right now, she’s working as a maid. She happens to be cleaning for the elusive Maxwell Emerson. While cleaning one day, she learns a secret of Maxwell’s. He has a lover. Chef Wesley Uhler. Wes is, for lack of a better term, Max’s dirty little secret. Max comes from an affluent political family and being gay or bisexual would not be taken well. Jane is sworn to secrecy, but more that that, she’s intrigued by them. Seeing them together, well, it was the most erotic experience of her life.

It comes to light that the men are as equally intrigued by Jane. What starts as sexual attraction between the three turns into so much more.

The thing I loved best about this book is that it never felt like one of them was being left out or felt less than then the other. They were three equals. Three equals who were falling for each other. There is no love triangle. There is no cheating. There is just three people who unconventionally and unequivocally fall for one another.

“I’m in love with her and I’m in love with Maxwell. I don’t know if it’s equal. How do you measure if you love someone? If they were both hanging on a cliff, and I could only choose one, I‘d join them on the cliff and hope we go together. I can’t divide myself from them.”

If you love M/M or M/M/F books, I can’t urge you enough to give this one a try! And even if that’s not your thing, I would still recommend it. The story is just that good! The end does have a cliffhanger, but it’s not the kind of cliffy that made me rage, it’s the kind that makes me so freaking excited for the next book! I am dying for this sequel!

If you’re looking for a crazy hot, taboo, fun and feeling story with a feisty and strong heroine and two amazing heroes, this is a must read! 5 stars!

About Amelia LeFay

Amelia LeFay is a character of my own imagination. She’s a single woman in her mid twenties in love with sex. Dirty sex, rough sex, sex of any type. She’s not a whore or a slut. She believes a woman should be aloud to sexually express herself anyway she wishes.

She stands for Gay Rights, Women’s Rights, the rights of Minorities, and Environmental protection.

She can be a bitch but doesn’t think there is anything wrong with that.

She has uneven boobs, stretch marks on her ass, astigmatism, and thighs that rub together as she walks. (Which means no pair of jeans last as long as she wishes they would.)

But most importantly Amelia is a Dreamer…she has dreams so big it scares even her, because if she fails…if she can’t make it…she feels like nothing.

J.J. McAvoy did something in That Thing Between Eli & Gwen that I absolutely love. For me, there is nothing better than characters who start as frenemies and then fall for one another. I love the banter these two characters have. This Con-Artist and Dr. Asshole were good for a lot of laughs, steamy moments and in the end, a heartfelt romance. This book was a total win for me!

Gwen and Eli have something in common. Both of their fiancĂ©’s ran off with each other. On Eli’s wedding day. After this happens, both of them deal with the heartbreak a little differently. Eli throws himself into work, determined to get over Hannah and forget about love period. Gwen is less of a workaholic and more of a free spirit. She has her art and she knows eventually she will have someone again.

“People are sometimes unlucky in love, but I’d rather be unlucky a dozen more times than close myself off and never have the chance to have that with someone.”

You would think with the common ground Eli and Gwen have, the two of them getting along would be a sure thing. You would be wrong. They are opposite and at times, can’t stand each other. I loved their back and forth banter. I loved their quirky friendship. And even more, I loved watching that friendship develop into something more.

“I don’t know what it is. I don’t know how I got here. One moment you were just another woman who got hurt too, and them you were Guinevere. Funny, weird, talented, beautiful Guinevere… I don’t know how it happened, all I know is that I’m thinking about you, and not just like a friend.”

As characters go, Gwen is probably my favorite that JJ has written. I loved her attitude, how she embraced who she was and what she believed in. She changed for no one. Eli was great, too. He was a bit of a jerk at first, but he really grew on me as the story went on. He and Gwen together had an insane amount of chemistry. You could just feel it building and building throughout the story. Once he brought out his softer side, I fell for him, too.

“You are beautiful. You… Guinevere Aurora Poe, are the most beautiful woman in the world to me. Let me say it. You should hear it.”

This story was not only fun and fresh, it was also sweet and romantic. I love a story that can make me fall in love, laugh and feel. That Thing About Eli & Gwen is 100% a stand-alone, but I hope that JJ decides to write a book about Eli’s brother, Logan. I adored him! This story is well written, sexy, full of laughs and hit all the right enemies to friends to lovers buttons. Not to mention, the ending was wonderful and the epilogue was perfection! I give this one a full 5 stars!

photo 70438179-19c0-4448-928b-118b64266f26_zpsget2pvdp.jpgBlack Rainbow is my first book by J.J. McAvoy so I had no expectations going in. I picked this book up when a friend recommended it to me and was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Black Rainbow is a highly entertaining story. It’s a story of forbidden love and the sacrifices we make for those we love.

Levi Black is an extremely successful attorney and he’s also a law professor.

When Levi works, he gives it his all. Levi is on vacation for a week and meets a beautiful young woman named Thea. These two click from the beginning. Their chemistry is palpable. Thea starts school in one week. Her responsibilities feel endless. When she meets Levi, she’s instantly attracted to him. Both of them need this week. They decide for one week, they will be together as much as they can.

 photo 9591f514-89b9-4847-80c6-f8f8208b3609_zpsoqq2tcvu.jpg
During this week, they grow close in some ways, but they only know the basic information about one another. Imagine Mr. Black’s surprise when Thea shows up in his classroom… or Thea’s surprise when she realized Levi Black, the man who she just spent the best week of her life with is her law professor.

Things between these two are tense at first. Thea is determined to succeed  by her merit alone. She is intelligent, driven and has a reason to fight for a top spot in her class. Levi doesn’t know what to think about this situation. He can’t show Thea any special attention, but she blows him away with her intelligence and drive. Spending all this time together and fighting the way they feel towards each other isn’t an easy task.

photo c850c89c-eaa4-4679-82d8-79161543e2a6_zpsry5ihvam.jpgLevi and Thea are both likable characters. They both try to do the right thing. I loved the sacrifices Levi was willing to make for her. I also loved how strong Thea was. How she fought for her family. It made her much more endearing. Levi could be such a hardass in classes, but deep down, he’s a great person. I think the author was wise to write this story in dual pov. I felt that it was important to get both of these characters perspectives.

Black Rainbow is a love story, but its much more than that. It’s also got some mystery and suspense, it’s high on the steam factor, and it’s got that forbidden love aspect that I enjoy so much. It didn't quite give me the five star feels, but I still loved the story and the characters. This is one I would recommend.

Synopsis: A sweet and steamy New Adult Romance from Amazon bestselling author of the Ruthless People series, J.J. McAvoy…
After an erotic one-week fling with a musician she meets in a bar, Thea Cunning never expects to see Levi Black again. Then Monday morning comes around, and she discovers that her former lover is not only her professor, but he’s also one of the top criminal lawyers in the state of Massachusetts.

With everyone in class vying to be one of the twelve disciples—a group of twelve students that Professor Black takes under his wing—tensions run high. Thea considers dropping his class, given their passionate week together and their undeniable chemistry. After all, there are other (less infuriatingly sexy) law professors on campus.

But to accomplish her goal and get her father out of prison, Thea knows she needs to learn under the best of the best—and that’s Levi Black.

But can she learn under the best, without being under the best?
