5 Stars to The Breaking Season by KA Linde

I signed on the dotted line. A marriage contract to seal my union with the devil.

I thought I knew what I was doing. His money and name were mine for the taking. But Camden Percy always gets exactly what he wants. And what he wants is me—my body, my obedience, my surrender.

He wants to break me.

But I’m Katherine Van Pelt. I’ll never break. I’ll never beg. I’ll never give in.

Except I promised him one more thing—a baby. A Percy heir.

There’s no way out of this one. Either I comply or lose everything. Do I risk the husband I’m just learning to love or is this my breaking season?

Villain Katherine and her Dark Prince.

If you would have told me that I would want to read about Katherine Van Pelt after meeting her in ‘Cruel Money’, I would have said no way. And if you would have told me she would become my favorite heroine of Linde’s, I would have laughed in your face… but here we are. This. Book. Was. Epic. Linde’s best work yet and Katherine is by far my favorite heroine she’s ever written. Trust me, no one is more surprised about this than me!

Katherine and Camden are married, but it’s a contract. It’s not a real marriage… or is it? Things between these two are complicated and tumultuous at times, but you can tell they feel for each other, even if they won’t admit it. And when they let themselves be together, the chemistry is sizzling. But the question is, will these two have a contractual marriage only or will they try to make it work for real. Is that even possible?

Through the last few books, Linde has made us care a little more about Katherine and Camden as we were shown a different side of them though the eyes of their best friends. How she managed to make these seemingly unredeemable villains not only characters I cared about, but characters I loved above all the others is beyond me. That is talent right there.

I ended up loving Camden Percy so dang much. He had a much bigger heart than I thought possible and was a loyal friend and managed to make a good husband. But Katherine, Katherine shocked me like no other. She’s a tough nut to crack, but once you see her for who she really is, you can’t help but to love her. She seems cold and hateful on the outside, but that is just a protective layer she wears. It’s not who she really is. I’m not saying she’s perfect, but I loved her so much and after seeing all she’d been through in her life I have a respect for her I didn’t before.

This was one of my most anticipated books of 2020 and it totally lived up to the hype. The Breaking Season was addicting and had that obsessive quality to it, I honestly could not put it down. K.A. Linde’s writing is impeccable and I still can’t believe how much I loved this book and these characters. The perfect mix of steam, emotion, angst, and heart. Honestly, this book was perfection for me and will be a top 2020 read! I can’t recommend it enough!

We were the villains of everyone else’s story. We were the hardened, darkened core that did whatever we had to in order to survive. To come out on top. But here, together, we were something else. Something more. Together, we could move mountains.

New Release + Review: The Lying Season by KA Linde

A new second chance standalone office romance from USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde…

Walking away from Sam Rutherford was the hardest thing I’ve ever done.

It's been five years since that day, and I've given up on looking for love. My focus is on my career. And it's paid off--I'm successfully managing the reelection for the mayor of New York City.

Then Sam walks into my office as the new legal counsel. Which means I have to see him every single day from now until November. We vow to remain professional, but it's a small office. The sly glances and his blistering charm are unavoidable.

It all feels so familiar. Too comfortable. After what happened the first time... I should know better.

If I'm not careful, he'll break my heart all over again.

And I don't know if I can survive Sam a second time.

Secrets kept them apart before. Lying might force them together.

The Lying Season is another angsty second chance romance from the queen of angst, K.A. Linde.

Lark St. Vincent is a successful campaign manager from the upper east side. She’s working hard to re-elect the mayor, when she gets a blast from her past. In the form of Sam Rutherford, her ex-boyfriend who is now working with her. Years ago, Sam and Lark fell in love on a different campaign but things didn’t end well. Its obvious Lark still has feelings for Sam, and he may feel the same way, and that makes working together all the more difficult.

I loved Lark. She’s the glue that holds her friend group together, and she brought out a human side to Kathrine that I never saw in the other books. I actually kind of want her to get her own book now… You don’t need to read the Cruel Money series to read this, it can be a complete stand-alone, but if you’ve read those, you’ll see many familiar faces and even a few familiar scenes.

As much as I loved Lark, I also really liked Sam. They had a past, but they also had so much chemistry together. I couldn’t wait to see how their story would turn out. Though there were obstacles in their way, I really rooted for them to get it together.

I’m a fan of second chance romances and I love Linde’s angsty books, so this was a huge win for me. If you’re looking for a book with lots of heart, lots of heat, and one you won’t want to put down, pick up The Lying Season!

Review: Cruel Fortune by KA Linde

Lose yourself to the dark and glamorous underbelly of the Upper East Side in the second book in USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde's new billionaire romance Cruel Trilogy.

I finally have everything I ever wanted--fame and fortune and literary success.

Only one problem: I lost my muse.

He was tall, dark, and handsome. Broody, enigmatic, alluring, and right for me in every way.

Until he wasn't. Until I lost everything.

And I can't lose it all again. I'll do anything to keep it.

Even seeing him again...

Christy's Review:

KA Linde never fails to deliver books that keeps my attention from start to finish. This one pulled me in from the start and had me hooked entirely. The angst, drama, and the many OMG moments- I was addicted.

Natalie is now a best selling author. Her dreams are coming true. But she finds herself somewhere she never really wanted to be again… back in the city. New York. The Upper East side. As soon as her book release is over, she’ll be gone. That is, until she realizes that NYC is where she needs to be to write. It’s where her muse is.

I can’t even go into this plot because, well, spoilers… but I will say that this story-line could have went so many ways, and there were moments I questioned why it was going in a certain direction, but by the end… Gah! I couldn’t have been happier with the way things started to go. I have high hopes that the next book will give me all I want and need, but I’m sure it will be a bit stressful getting there.

A lot of these characters are manipulative, some are unlikable, but others are amazing. I love that there are so many different types of personalities in this book and you never know what you were getting. There is so much passion, intensity, and crazy sexy moments.

If you’re looking for a book that’s completely addictive and one that will keep you on the edge of your seat, pick up the Cruel series. I am loving these books and July can’t come soon enough. I’m dying to see how this ends!!

CHRISTY'S REVIEW:

“I have waited a lifetime for you.”

As soon as this book landed on my kindle, I dropped everything to read it! After that crazy cliff-hanger at the end of the second book, I was dying to see how this series would end! I’ve got to say, this book kept me on the edge of my seat just like the first two, and I couldn’t have loved the ending more!

Everything has fallen apart for Reyna Carpenter. She’s doing the best she can, but her life is in shambles. Even though things aren’t good for Reyna, she has so much strength. I loved how strong and independent she was, even when she was at her lowest point.

There is so much I want to say about this story, but gah! I just can’t. I feel like everything I would write about the plot would be a spoiler since things were left so up in the air the last book. All I really need to say is that you NEED to read these books! It’s one of the best PNR series I’ve read in the longest time. An epic hero, an amazingly strong heroine, and a unique story line- I loved all the books! Definitely must reads!

CHRISTY'S REVIEW

   photo IMG_1294_zpsuilfg0wx.png

After finishing The Wright Love, I couldn’t get my hands on The Wright One fast enough! Thankfully, the wait wasn’t long. Things with Sutton and David were going great, but at the end of the book, they exploded a bit. I couldn’t wait to see how it would get worked out.

“Would you believe me if I said that I never wanted this to happen?”
“Yes, but that doesn’t change anything.

The beginning of this book focused on explaining the bomb that was dropped at the end of the first book. The secrets were exposed and Sutton and David were left with the aftermath, wondering if their relationship could be salvaged.

David is a character that I loved learning more about. It was great to get his story in this book. Sutton aggravated me at times when she flipped and was so indecisive, but I tried to put myself in her shoes and it made her more tolerable. By the end of the book, I loved them both! These two belonged together and were both deserving of a love like this!

This story was frustrating, angsty, sexy, and showed the true power of love. Sometimes love comes where you least expect it. Even if you think you’ll never find it again, it can come. I thought this duet was very well written, had just enough twists and turns to keep me fully invested, and I loved the romance. I love these Wright books and hope we get more in the future!

BBU Reviews THE WRIGHT SECRET by KA Linde

A new brother’s-best-friend stand alone romance by USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde…

I was just his best friend’s little sister.

But he was always more than that to me.

After twelve years of pining over Patrick’s easy smile, baby blues, and captivating charm, I decide to take matters into my own hands—and completely blow my chance.

Who knew a self-proclaimed manwhore would decide to be a gentleman the first time I’m naked in his bed? Definitely, not me. But when I land there again, neither of us has any intention of stopping.

There’s only one problem: nobody can know. Especially not my three older brothers. If they found out, all hell would break loose.

So I’m willing to keep our secret...

Because I want him Wright here, right now.

Christy's Review:

“description”/

I was determined for him to see me. Not just his best friend’s little sister.

THIS is the Wright book I’ve been waiting for! Not only do I adore Morgan Wright, but come on… I’m such a sucker for brother’s best friend books!

Morgan Wright has it all. She’s on top of her career, she’s got an amazing family and a few close friends. The only thing she’s missing is love. She’s had it bad for her brother’s best friend, Patrick for over a decade, but it’s never been that way for him. At least until now.

Patrick is a bit blindsided when starts developing feelings for Morgan. This can’t be happening. He can’t fall for his best friends little sister. It’s against the code. Not only is Morgan’s brother, Austin his best friend, he’s close with all the Wright brothers. They’re like family to him. But once he and Morgan get closer, he can’t turn off what he’s feeling… it’s okay that they’re together if it’s a secret, right?

Patrick wanted me. My heart fluttered. My stomach catapulted. My mind buzzed. This was real. This moment was real.

Morgan Wright may very well be my favorite Wright sibling. I love that she is fierce, independent, and sassy. She’s hard working, devoted to her job and her family, but also kind and vulnerable. Patrick was pretty fantastic as well. I loved how he stood up for Morgan and once he knew she was the one, he was willing to fight for her.

The more of the ‘Wright’ books I read, the more I fall in love with this family. I’m ecstatic to get a Sutton/David book. I just know it’s going to be incredible and hit me right in the feels! The Wright Secret is a sexy, swoony, and captivating read. I recommend it to all lovers of romance, especially those who love a kick ass heroine and the brother’s best friend troupe!
