Piece of My Heart by Nicole Jacquelyn is LIVE!

From the author of Unbreak My Heart comes a heart-wrenching story about a young married couple's struggle to find their way back to each other after an unbearable loss threatens to tear them apart. Nicole Jacquelyn delivers a novel that will break your heart...in all the best ways.

Alex Evans is cool. Collected. Charismatic as hell. But when he meets Sarai Levy, all that chill goes right out the door. An Israeli graduate student, Sarai's far too busy with school to date. But she gives Alex a chance anyway, and after a few whirlwind months, they're getting married. They've heard all the reasons why it's too soon, but Alex and Sarai are madly in love and determined to make it work . . . until a devastating tragedy strikes and their perfect world comes crashing down.

Sarai, who always has a plan, suddenly has no blueprint for handling a staggering loss. As she pulls away from Alex and withdraws from her life, he's struggling to be the man she needs. Their relationship is fraying at the seams, and if Alex and Sarai don't find a way to trust each other with their most painful truths, their heartache could shatter their fairytale romance.

Piece of My Heart is the forth book in Nicole Jacquelyn’s ‘Fostering Love’ series. To be honest, this was my most anticipated one of the series. Alex is one of those supporting characters that you fall in love with and I couldn’t wait for his book. I was so happy when this one landed on my kindle and Alex didn’t disappoint. I adored him just as much as I knew I would.

Alex Evan’s is in the Army. He’s an amazing brother, son, and friend, but the last thing he wants to do is to help an army buddy out by going on a blind date. But he goes. The girl he happens to be set up with is named Sarai and he falls head over heels for her. It’s love at first sight for him, but she needs a little more time. Sarai is a busy lady and she’s focused on work and school. She doesn’t have time for a relationship, but Alex wears her down. Once Sarai gives in, these two fall hard and they fall fast for one another.

Alex is the best of the best. Seriously, there could not be a more perfect hero. He’s genuine, a great brother and friend, a kind and sweet man, and a romantic boyfriend. I couldn’t have loved him more. It took me a bit longer to warm up to Sarai, but I really liked her too. These two were a great match and though their romance moved quickly, it was believable. I mean, who would let a guy like Alex go?

This book was a lot lighter on the angst compared to some of the others, but it was still uber emotional and heartbreaking. My heart shattered for this couple. There is a lot of struggle toward the end, and I wish that there would have been more of a focus on the healing. The last 10% of the book felt a bit rushed to me, but aside from that, I loved it.

Family is such a strong point when it comes to these books. The support this family gives is huge. The problems this couple faces seem insurmountable at times, but love can truly conquer all. This series has been so great for me, and this was a nice addition. If you’re looking for an emotional read that’s full of heart and has a flawless hero, pick this one up.

Change of Heart by Nicole Jacquelyn review!

They've spent their lives pushing each other away, but what will happen when they need each other most?

Anita Martin doesn't expect much from life. Growing up on the street, bouncing from one foster home to another, she learned to rely only on herself. Even after she finally found a loving family to take her in, she was still an outsider—something Abraham, one of the family's older sons, never let her forget.

Abraham Evans doesn't know how Ani always manages to get under his skin, only that's she's been doing it since they were teens. She is—and always has been—undeniably gorgeous. But he's never met anyone as pissed off at the world as Ani.

For fifteen years, Ani and Bram have agreed on exactly one thing: they can't stand each other—until one night when their anger gives way to passion. Yet even as Ani and Bram begin to secretly seek comfort in one another's arms, they remain emotionally worlds apart. When Ani's life takes a dramatic turn and she realizes she needs more than Bram can give, their fragile, no-strings relationship unravels. One way or another, Ani is determined to survive. But when Bram finally admits his true feelings, he may discover Ani has moved on without him.

After reading Unbreak My Heart earlier this year, I knew I needed Bram and Anita’s book asap! I love the emotional and angsty way this author writes this series. As much as I loved the first book, I think I loved this one even more. Anita and Bram’s story hit me like a ton of bricks. I really felt for them and this story made me feel so much!

Anita and Bram are two people who don’t get along. You know those people that always seem to pick on each other, both are outspoken and always have something to say? Yeah, that’s them. They seem like an unlikely pair because of that. Of course there would have to be some clashing with their personalities- they’ve known each other fifteen years and they never can seem to get along. Ani is constantly getting under Bram’s skin. Then one night seems to change everything between them….

“You’re such a fucking pain in the ass,” Bram gasped, pressing against me as he kissed me hard. “Maybe if I just kept your mouth occupied…”

After this night together, things seem to change between them. They develop a sort of no-strings-attached relationship. Even though they still bicker like crazy, it’s different. Then something huge happens in Ani’s life that rocks her to her core. And Bram doesn’t know if he can handle it. Or be there for her. He’s not sure he can be the man she needs.

What can I say about Nicole Jacquelyn? She sure knows how to write a guy that’s a total jerk. And she certainly finds ways to redeem them. Bram wasn’t quite as bad as Shane IMO, but he had many moments. Ani was such a strong heroine and someone I could relate to in many ways. I adored her. Then there are all the other side characters- I’m still waiting on an Alex book! Here is to hoping that’s next!

This story has some angst, but it’s super heavy on the emotion, loss, love and sacrifice. I love the family dynamic in these books. These characters are truly a family that would do anything for one another. I give this one 4.5 stars.

Change of Heart by Nicole Jacquelyn – Top 5 List
Top 5 Movies
Juno
The one-liners in that movie are fantastic, the storyline is absolute gold, and I think it’s one of the realist depictions of a love story that I’ve ever seen on film. I also have a deep and abiding love for Ellen Page.
Almost Famous
Who doesn’t love the story of a dorky teenager who gets to go on the road with a rock band in the seventies? I mean, really.
Dirty Dancing
Patrick Swayze anyone? Plus, the music and the dancing and the chemistry were fantastic. It’s the clichéd story of the bad boy and the good girl, and I can’t get enough of it.
Pretty in Pink
I really love anything that John Hughes made, but Pretty in Pink is probably my favorite. I love so many things about it, but to narrow it down I’ll just say, Jon Cryer as Duckie, James Spader as the asshole rich kid, the record store,  and the homemade prom dress.
Labyrinth

David Bowie wears spandex and dances around with a bunch of puppets. Enough said.
