Bowtie...'till I DIE.
Samuel Clearwater, A.K.A Preppy, likes bowties, pancakes, suspenders, good friends, good times, good drugs, and a good f*ck.

He’s worked his way out from beneath a hellish childhood and is living the life he’s always imagined for himself. When he meets a girl, a junkie on the verge of ending it all, he’s torn between his feelings for her and the crippling fear that she could be the one to end the life he loves.

Andrea ‘Dre’ Capulet is strung out and tired.

Tired of living for her next fix. Tired of doing things that make her stomach turn. Tired of looking in the mirror at the reflection of the person she’s become. Just when she decides to end it all, she meets a man who will change the course of both their lives forever.

And their deaths.

For most people, death is the end of their story.
For Preppy and Dre, death was only the beginning.

Lawless is the third book in the King series. It’s Bear’s story and I’ve been looking forward to it ever since I met him in King. I loved King and Doe in the first book of this series, but I was honestly most intrigued by the side characters, Preppy and Bear. After reading the prologue of Bears book, I was hooked. I knew I was going to love this story.

Bear didn’t join an MC, he was born into one. His dad is the leader of the local MC and Bear was groomed from a young age. It’s all he knew, and besides King and Preppy, all he cared about. The MC was the most important thing to him…

   photo 0882B7AA-462C-4BE5-935D-BC981C66CDC0_zpsgkgk7lnh.jpg

Until it wasn’t. Things changed after he chose someone else over the MC.
The last thing Bear expected while all this is going down is for someone from his past to pop up needing his help. Thia is a girl Bear met years ago when she was just a kid. She helped him out in a big way, so he promised to one day return the favor. Now is that time. She’s desperate after losing everything and everyone that has ever meant anything to her. I love Thia and Bear’s backstory. I had a huge smile on my face while reading it. Their second meeting… it was much different than their first. Bear is not in a good place.

It takes a strong woman to handle someone like Bear. Frazier thrives at writing female leads with strength. Thia may be young at only 18, but the way she grew up, she is more mature than most woman older than her. She may seem fragile, but she’s tough enough to handle Bear. Bear is a character that has some much intensity to him. He’s loyal and he is also lawless. These two wouldn’t seem like a good match, but they compliment each other. Their connection is apparent and their chemistry is high.

I leaned down and pressed my lips to hers. I was already going to hell. Might as well enjoy the ride.

When you start Lawless be prepared to be sucked in. You won’t want to put it down. It’s real, raw, passionate and dangerous. These characters are beautifully flawed and broken, yet strong. It’s suspenseful, messed up, yet also romantic.

I read my first TM Frazier book over 2 years ago- from the moment I read it, I was hooked. I love her writing style, the gritty stories, the broken- yet strong characters, and the feels I always get when reading her books. If you haven’t read her yet, I can’t recommend these books enough. I would say start with The Dark Light of Day since it’s my favorite of hers and read them all! Lawless is a wonderful addition to this series, and I’m dying for the next one! I mean, that ending… (view spoiler)

It wasn’t romantic. It wasn’t flowery. But it also wasn’t lies. It was just us.

I. Remember. Everything.

Only now I wish I didn’t.

When the fog is sucked away from my mind like smoke through a vacuum, the truth that has been beyond my reach for months finally reveals itself.

But the relief I thought I would feel never comes, and I’m more afraid now than I was the morning I woke up handcuffed in King’s bed.

Because with the truth comes dark secrets I was never meant to know.
I will put the lives of those I love most at risk if I let on that my memory has returned, or if I seek help from the heavily tattooed felon who owns me body and soul.

I don’t know if I’m strong enough to resist the magnetic pull toward King that grows stronger every day.

He’s already saved me in more ways than one. Now it’s my turn to do whatever it takes to save him.

Even if that means marrying someone else…

Christy's Review:

5 Stars!

After reading King I was not so patiently waiting for the sequel. It ended in one heck of a cliffhanger and I was more than ready to find out what happens next… The first thing I thought after finishing this book was WOW. I was completely wow’d by this story. It takes a lot for me to be completely and utterly shocked and surprised in a book and I love that this book shocked me.

photo 361fef4d-14fb-43ba-ac31-84354dd8bb04_zpsdwzvhqdj.jpgThe first half of the book was great, but the second half is when the story really shined. I was blown away by what was going on and how these things came to light. Secrets came out, and when the big revelation was made, I got goosebumps. My heart stopped. I had to go back and re-read a few pages because that surely couldn’t be right… I’m so glad I had friends who had read this story because you will need someone to talk to once you hit that moment! I don’t want to divulge anything that could elude to the unforeseen moment, and I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn’t read King, so I won’t talk about the plot at all. You need to experience this epic story for yourself.

 photo b76ffd1e-7700-483a-9f97-224bd5a317fc_zpsdiuhcbg8.jpg

Doe was not a frightened heroine in this story. She wanted answers about her life and she was willing to do whatever she had to to find them. She’s trying to fit in the life that was once hers, while being her new self. It’s hard to balance the two, but ultimately she knows she can’t go back to who she was. She can only be herself and who she is now. And that person belongs to King. Whether he’s with her or not.

King has sacrificed everything and would continue to do so for the few people in his life that he loves. Doe is one of those people. King still isn’t your normal hero. He’s ruthless and he does what he has to do to not only survive, but protect those he loves. He’s not a good guy, but he’s also not a bad guy. He’s a complex character and no matter how much we learn about him, I always want to know more. I love his protective and possessive nature towards Doe.

photo 1bf32bd2-256a-4c21-9273-c1f2187b6f94_zps3zlmoe4l.jpgThere was a wild part of me that flourished when I was with King. I liked who I was with him. I knew who I was with him. That part, the part that couldn't be controlled, belonged to King, and no matter where I was or what either of us were doing, no one could ever take that from me.

T.M. Frazier is an exceptional author. When it comes to the dark, gritty and raw stories, she excels. With all that, she still manages to make me feel, and makes her characters relatable and real. And there is always romance involved as well. This series really does have it all. Even though King and Pup’s story concluded in Tyrant, I’m sure we’ll see more of them in Bear’s book! I can’t wait for that one!!!

Excerpt
King snarled. “You seem to have forgotten who the fuck I am, Pup. So I'm going to remind you.” He pressed his hips against mine. “I'm the man who took you against your will and handcuffed you to my fucking bed. I'm the man who wanted you, so I fucking kept you." He cocked an eyebrow. “Do you really think you have a choice when it comes to being mine?"
King lifted me onto the dresser and pushed himself between my legs, forcing my legs apart. He held my wrists behind my back forcing my shoulders backwards and pushing my chest into his. My dress rode up to the tops of my thighs. King pushed a strand of hair behind my ears and leaned in to me, his lips just a breath away from mine. The room was getting hot. I couldn't breathe. I needed...I don't know what I needed. "No more questions."
I opened my mouth to argue. "Stop fucking talking," he snapped.
King lifted me off the dresser and carried me and set me down in front of the full-length mirror that hung on the closet door. He stood behind me. A head taller than me and outweighing me by a hundred pounds, our differences had never been more obvious. His dark jeans and dark tank top were a stark contrast to my little white eyelet sundress. My pale skin next to his tanned. My white hair to his black. It was a sight that made my knees weak. Because although the reflection in the mirror made our differences obvious, it also made me see how well the two fit together.

KING by T.M. Frazier 5 star review and Giveaway!

KING. IS. HERE!

Christy's 5 star review!

   photo fb195d79-2345-426d-8ec8-ab4034b0be79_zpsfzicvt9z.jpg

“Love is what you would do for the other person, not what you do in general.”

When I read T.M. Frazier’s first book, The Dark Light of Day, in 2013 and I was hooked. I love this author’s writing style, the way she can write so much beauty among all the ugly content she writes and the feelings her books evoke. I feel like I have been waiting for the longest time for her second full length novel, King- but let me tell you guys something… KING was worth the wait!

photo 2afc7378-ce7c-49ec-b172-3b43ca99693e_zpsymlj529y.jpgOur story starts with a young Doe. A girl with no memories. She doesn’t have anywhere to go, doesn’t know who she is and is alone in the world.

I don’t know where I came from.
I don’t know how hold I am
I don’t know my real name.

Some way or another, she finds King.

Brantley King is a tattoo artist fresh out of prison. He is a criminal and has been for a long time. He and his partner, Preppy, have a business. They started from the very bottom when they were young but they were determined to make it. Now they’re on the top. They do what they want when they want to do it, no questions asked. When King first sees Doe, he doesn’t know what to think. He feels something for this girl. She makes him feel something different.

photo 47f68539-755b-4519-937c-59d81774c174_zpsf5g3jusi.jpg“Why did you come back for me?”

“Because you’re mine.”

This is so much I want to say about this story- SO MUCH! But at the risk of spoiling something (trust me, this is one you don’t want spoiled) I’ll just talk about the characters and all the things I loved.

photo f03148b6-666f-4e1c-8a8b-95587b05a58c_zpsdqfqemlg.jpgFirst there was Doe. This girl was lost. She was frightened. But she was so strong. She was willing to do what it took to survive at all costs. And I love that as scary as King could be, she stood up to him. She didn’t cower and take his crap. King is a tough nut to crack. There are so many sides to this man. You see him as a ‘bad guy’ at first, but he is definitely not all bad. Doe brings out an eternity different guy.  I love the connection they share and their chemistry is off the charts! Also, the more you hear about King’s past and what’s really going on in his life, the more you’ll feel for this powerful yet broken man.

As much as I loved the main characters, there are two secondary characters that were also fantastic. Preppy and Bear. Preppy is one of those guys that will make you laugh out loud in every part he’s in. He has the foulest mouth and you never know what he’s going to say. He’s a true friend to King and Doe in every sense of the word. Then there is Bear who is a biker and also a friend of King and Preppy’s. I think a Bear book would be pretty great. I’d love to know more about him.

photo 7ccc9960-7bb3-4a07-a3b7-409f38b11a3c_zpsqiaujp9x.jpgNow lets get to what you all really want to hear about… that ending! Wow. That last 15% not only gutted me, but shocked me. I love getting those twists thrown into books that I didn’t see coming. And I for real did not see that coming! That cliffhanger makes me desperate for the next book. August can’t come soon enough!

If you are a fan of dark romances, read this book. If you want to be captivated by fantastic writing, read this book. If you like the raw and gritty, read this book. If you love twists and turns in your stories, read this book. I guess when it comes down to it, I would tell all my fellow readers to read this book! I loved it from start to finish and it’s one I highly recommend.

Blurb
Homeless, hungry and desperate enough to steal, Doe has no memories of who she is or where she comes from.

A notorious career criminal just released from prison, King is someone you don’t want to cross unless you’re prepared to pay him back in blood, sweat, pu$$y or a combination of all three.

King’s future hangs in the balance. Doe’s is written in her past. When they come crashing together, they will have to learn that sometimes in order to hold on, you have to first let go.

Warning: This book contains graphic violence, consensual and nonconsensual sex, drug use, abuse, and other taboo subjects and adult subject matter. Although originally slated to be a standalone, KING is now a two part series.
