LIVE and 5 STAR REVIEW! Down Too Deep by J. Daniels

Two single
parents and three adorable kids are about to have a summer they'll never forget
in this sexy, heartwarming new novel of the New York Times bestselling
series.

Following the sudden death of his wife, Nathan Bell spent
nearly two years burying himself in work and neglecting his biggest
responsibility: his daughter. Overcome with guilt, he wants to connect with
little Marley, but he doesn't know how to do it alone. And then Jenna Savage
throws him a lifeline.

A single mom of twins, Jenna is more than capable of taking
care of Nathan's adorable two-year-old and wants to help Nathan however she
can. As the days go by and her attraction to Nathan grows, she can't help
wondering what might happen if they became a family for real. And the closer
everyone becomes, the more right it feels.

Falling in love forces Nathan to face his biggest fear, and
when hearts -- both big and little -- are on the line, the only thing scarier
than needing Jenna and her kids so much is losing them all.

Down Too Deep hit me in the feels in the best way. Not only one, but both of the main characters are single parents- which I loved. Nate’s book has been my most anticipated book in this series since I first met him. After reading the third book in this series, Bad For You I was nervous to read this one. You see, I loved that book so much I didn’t think anything could come close to it. This book did. I can’t even choose which I loved more, they’re both equally amazing for me.

Nathan Bell is a single dad who’s lost himself. He’s a workaholic and basically letting his parents raise his daughter while he manages his restaurant 24/7. Now he’s in a place where he needs to get it together and be Marley’s dad and primary care giver and he’s at a loss at what to do. Thank goodness for Jenna Savage.

Jenna is Brian Savage (the hero from the first book in this series) sister and a mother of 8 year old twins. Jenna loves her kids and always has put them first. She’s been a single mom since day one and her life is her children. When she sees Nate drowning, she offers to help watch Marley until he can come up with a better work solution. Nate doesn’t know her well, but can tell she’s genuine and takes her up on her offer.

I didn’t know this woman at all, and she was offering me the lifeline I desperately needed.

Nate becomes a better father and a better man. He’s still dealing with his issues, but with Jenna and her kids, a huge void gets filled. Without realizing it, the five of them become a family unit. And Jenna and Nate start to develop strong feelings for one another. Gah! I loved these two so much. Both of them deserved a loving partner and they couldn’t have been more perfect for one another.

This book brought me to tears so many times. I was so emotional while reading this book. I don’t know what it is with these books, but my heart can’t take reading them. I mean, they’re incredible, but I find myself bawling with each one. It’s a good hurt, though. A lot of these tears were actually happy tears. My heart was so full of hope and love I couldn’t contain it. This was one of the most beautiful and heartfelt love stories I’ve read this year.

As much as I loved Nate, and I really really loved Nate, Jenna was everything. She was the most amazing mother, she was a good friend to Nate when he needed it, and more when that time came. She was never pushy with him, always patient, treated his daughter like her own and is the most incredible momma to her kids. She’s a rockstar of a heroine and I couldn't have loved her more. I adored her kids and the relationship they developed with Nate. Especially her daughter, it was the most precious thing. Nate had a lot of grief and guilt he had to work through, but once he did, he was there for Jenna and her kids. It was a process, but well worth the wait.

Down Too Deep was an incredible read. It blew past all my expectations. It has so much emotion and heart, and just enough steam and even a few laughs. This book was an epic 5 star read for me and I can’t recommend it enough!!!

Excerpt
Marley kept whining. She stomped her foot and shook her head at her father when he held out a stuffed giraffe. Nate swapped it out for a book, turning to a page and pointing at one of the pictures. She wasn’t interested. Marley fell back onto her butt as tears hit her cheeks. Her legs kicked against the floor with fury.
Nate pinched his eyes shut, ran a hand through his hair, and looked down at her. He appeared lost, and possibly on the brink of a melt-down himself.
He was overwhelmed, that was clear.
“Has she eaten dinner? Maybe she’s hungry,” I said, walking over to the play yard. On instinct, I bent over the gate and held out my arms. I wanted to soothe her somehow. I at least wanted to try. I hated seeing this sweet thing so upset.
Marley immediately stood up and came to me. When I got her on my hip, she settled down and played with the chain around my neck again.
“I don’t know what she is,” Nate replied. He held up his glasses and rubbed at his eyes. “I guess she could be hungry.”
“If you want, I can take her out there and she can eat with us. It’s just me and my kids.”
“Really?”
“Sure. What does she like off the menu?”
He looked at Marley, thinking hard on that question. “Normal two-year-old stuff?” Our gazes met. I saw the embarrassment in his eyes before he looked down and away. “Sorry. I really don’t know what she likes. I haven’t spent much time with her.” He gripped the back of his neck, mumbling, “I’m sure that’s obvious right now.”
His shame was palpable.
Something about the way Nate spoke, the humiliation in his voice, the rejection—he wanted to know his daughter. He wanted to have the answer to any question I could ask him about her, and he didn’t know how.

Everything inside me that made me who I was, wanted to help him.

Blog Tour: Bad for You by J. Daniels

He didn't want to be bad. He just didn't have a choice...

Shayla Perkins isn't the kind of girl who makes the same mistake twice, especially when it comes to Sean "Stitch" Molina. So when he gives her the world's biggest rejection, that's it--she's done. Until the sexy, silent, unavailable Sean makes Shay a very personal offer. Of course, it still doesn't mean he's interested in her. Or does it?

Sean has done things in life. Bad things. And he's paid the price. All he wants now is to make up for his past by doing good in the present. And no one deserves more good than Shay. Beautiful on the inside and out, Shay is the kind of woman who should be cared for and protected--especially from a man like Sean. He's tried to keep his feelings for her in check, but a single, reckless impulse pulls them closer than ever before.

Soon the two are sharing their biggest dreams and satisfying their deepest desires. But what will happen if the only way to truly give each other what they want most...is to let each other go?

"The perfect mix of funny, hot and heartwarming. I enjoyed it immensely!" --Mia Sheridan, New York Times bestselling author, on Four Letter Word

CHRISTY'S 5+ STAR REVIEW:

description

I enjoyed the first two books in J. Daniels Dirty Deeds series, but Bad for You is on an entirely different level in my opinion. This book blew me away. It’s been a while since I’ve read a book with such a tortured/damaged hero that touched me on this level. I’ve been craving a story that would make me ugly cry and truly make me feel and this is the first book in 2018 to hit the spot in that way.

Sean also known as ‘Stitch’ is the cook at Whitecaps. He’s broody and keeps to himself, but I’ve been intrigued by him since the moment I met him. Shayla is the opposite of Sean. She’s fun, outgoing, and personable. Shay is working as a waitress, but she’s also following her dreams and trying to open her own salon. When her family needs her help, Shay’s life is turned a bit upside down. She finds help in the most surprising place. Sean.

Sean and Shayla have a bit of a past. Shay has really opened up and talked to Sean and he sort of blew her off. What Shayla eventually realized was that Sean did this for a reason. Sean doesn’t feel worthy of love. He doesn’t feel worthy of anything, quite frankly. His life has not been good and he grew up in such a way that he’s never quite healed from his past.
He didn't feel worthy. And he was absolutely worthy. Not just of me, but of everything good this world had to offer him. Of love. Of Kindness. And I was going to make sure he knew that for good.

description

Hearing about Sean’s past obliterated my heart. Sean truly is an amazing person. Going through all he’s been through… I can’t even. I am tearing up just thinking about it. It was so ugly and he deserved so much better. The fact that he thought he deserved nothing broke my heart. Shay is the best heroine ever. Seriously- she is my hero. Not only is she an all around outgoing, lovable, caring, and sweet person, but she fought for Sean. She fought to heal him. She had a lot going on in her life, her own family issues, her own dreams, but HE was most important to her. Healing him was everything and she’d do anything she could to help him, even if it hurt her. The sacrifices she was willing to make, gah! I just loved her so much!

Sean and Shay’s romance wasn’t always at the forefront of this story, which was fine with me. There was so much time that the story focused on their friendship and Sean’s healing. It was very much a slow burn romance. Once these two decided to be together though… it was so epic. Their love story was beautiful.
This was madness. This was sex without thought, without pause, without question. Letting desire drive and leaving reason and all sense behind. Fuck stopping to think. Fuck wondering, Should we? Could we? What if we did? We were just feeling. Feeling and letting it all happen. It was the most beautiful, chaotic thing I’d ever experienced.

This book grabbed me and never let go. It ripped at my heart and tore me apart. I sobbed through so much of this story. My heart just completely shattered for Sean. But just as Shayla started to mend Sean’s heart, my heart was also mended and healed as I continued on with the story. This book is the best kind of emotional. It’s the kind that hurts so good. It’s a hard story to read at times, but as much as it’s heartbreaking, it’s also hopeful and full of heart.

Bad for You was a truly epic book for me. A wonderful damaged hero, an incredible heroine, a story full of emotion, heat, and healing- this book was EVERYTHING! Most definitely my favorite of 2018 so far! I highly recommend this book to all!

“Let yourself feel that love, Sean,” she whispered. “Take it in. Let it fill you.”

Christy's Review:
4.5 stars!

What I Need was one of my most anticipated reads this month. I’ve seriously been dying to get CJ Tully’s story. Reed has been my favorite guy of the series, but I had a feeling CJ would top him. And I’ll tell you a secret... I was right. CJ is my new favorite Bama boy. There was nothing about that man I didn’t love! I can’t imagine anyone reading this book and not loving the hero!

Officer CJ Tully and Riley Tennyson meet at Riley’s brother Reed’s wedding rehearsal. They are paired together at the wedding and Riley is going through a hard time… CJ is there to make her feel better. And boy does he. Their weekend together is explosive. And then it’s back home and back to real life. As much as there is a connection between CJ and Riley, it’s decided they’ll be just friends. Well, Riley decides that.

Do I want to be friends with Riley? Fuck no. Am I going to take what she gives me right now? Yeah. I’ll fucking take it.

Riley and CJ’s friendship/relationship was the best. I love the fun and serious secrets between them. Their high fives, funny pick up lines and the way they always have fun together. Riley has never truly been treated the way she should be by a man, and CJ is more than ready to show her the way a real man treats a woman.

CJ Tully. Sigh. I could go on and on about him. I thought he was so fantastic. I haven’t had a book boy leave this great of an impression on me in the longest time. Seriously this man is perfection. Read the book just to meet him. You won’t regret it! Riley was a heroine who I had mixed feelings about. There are moments I legit loved her. I love that she’s a nursing student. I love how playful and fun she is. Even though the things she did I understood, I still was irked at times. Honestly, that’s the only thing holding me back from giving this one a full 5 star rating. Just a little irking from the heroine. Overall, it was an incredible read for me!

From the moment I started What I need till the moment I finished, I had a huge grin on my face. This book was exactly what I needed. And OMG after meeting CJ’s brother and reading the sneak peak to his book…. I can’t even wait! For real another Tully boy. What could be better? It seems more on the emotional side too, which is right up my alley!

If you’re looking for a sexy, sweet, fun, and highly entertaining read with a perfect hero- look no further! Don’t miss out on this fabulous read!

We’re lovers who became friends who became . . . everything.
