Reed by Sawyer Bennett is LIVE!

Reed (Cold Fury, Book #10)

Sawyer Bennett
Release Date: February 6, 2018
Synopsis:
Hockey season may be over, but in New York Times bestselling author Sawyer Bennett’s new novel, a Carolina Cold Fury heartbreaker is heating things up off the ice and eager to score with the girl next door.

No one skates like Reed Olson. In the off-season, no one plays like him either. After back-to-back championships, Reed craves a different kind of action. Good thing there’s no shortage of women ready for a summer fling with a sports star. Reed has a specific type—blond, busty, not too bright—and a little black book full of options. But when his bed starts rocking, it’s his unexpectedly sexy neighbor who comes knocking. And the brainy beauty is impossible to ignore.

Josie Ives desperately needs something her celebrity neighbor obviously doesn’t: sleep. His headboard banging against the wall is keeping her up at night—not to mention inspiring some very naughty dreams. Reed is everything she imagined: a little too good-looking, with a body that puts Greek gods to shame. But he’s also funny and charming—a tempting combination. Josie’s the opposite of his type, yet the chemistry between them is undeniable. Their friendship certainly has its benefits, and it’s heating up to be so much more.

Sawyer Bennett’s New York Times bestselling Carolina Cold Fury series can be read together or separately.

Christy's Review:

“Friends with benefits to the end.”

descriptionReed is the 10th book in Sawyer Bennett’s Cold Fury series. Yes, you read that right. The 10th! I can’t get enough of these books. There is something about them that makes me want to drop whatever I’m doing and read one as soon as it comes out! This was one I was a bit hesitant to read (I wasn’t crazy about the blurb) but once I got into it, it was just as fantastic as the rest!

Reed Olsen is a hockey player for the Cold Fury. His neighbor is an ER doctor who works long shifts. One thing Josie Ives need is sleep. So when Reed starts keeping her up at all hours of the night being inconsiderate, she goes over and gives him a piece of her mind. I loved Josie from the start. I loved her puzzles, her take no crap attitude, and the way she and Reed became friends. They have this pull to one another and once I got into this book, I didn’t want to put it down!

After professing Van, book 9 in this series, as my favorite book in the Cold Fury series (it still is), Reed had a lot to live up to! And after the first few chapters, I gotta tell you, I was nervous. I don’t always love male characters like this. But Reed, he grew on me. I grew to love him! He and Josie were a fantastic match and I adored them together! Reed was deep down a good guy. He was kind, sweet, and a lot of fun. I thought Josie was great as well! I loved her personality and the fact that she was a hard worker and didn’t take any of his bs.

“I don’t know if I can be everything to you, Josie. But I want to be everything that I can possibly be. I want to be exactly what you need.”

This series is a fabulous sports romance series, and I get excited with each new book. After reading about the situation with our next hero, I’m equally excited and terrified to read his book! For those of you who love friends to lovers stories, this is one I highly recommend!

Van by Sawyer Bennett

Van (Cold Fury, Book #9)

Sawyer Bennett
Release Date: November 28, 2017
Synopsis:

Score one for the Carolina Cold Fury hockey team as a stone-cold badass melts for a woman who makes his blood run hot.

As one of the league’s toughest enforcers, Van Turner is ruthless on the ice. He plays hard because it’s the only way to channel the rage boiling inside, and a reputation as an A-hole is better than everyone knowing the truth. Van has spent his entire life running from a secret that’s kept him from getting involved in relationships—or accepting lucrative deals with East Coast teams. Then the Carolina Cold Fury makes him an offer he can’t refuse . . . and Van meets a woman he can’t resist.

Simone Fournier is the stubborn one in her family—and that’s saying something, considering her brothers are two of the Cold Fury’s biggest stars. Simone gets what she wants, and what she wants is Van. Still, there’s a part of him Simone can’t reach, no matter how hard she tries. In private, he’s all fire and passion. In public, he freezes her out. Van may want to push her away, but Simone won’t let him go that easily. Because this time, she’s playing for keeps.

Christy's Review:
“description"/

“I know you, Van Turner,” I whisper to him. “And I think you’re mighty fine.”

Van is the 9th book in Sawyer Bennett’s Cold Fury series and it’s by far my favorite so far! Honestly, I didn’t think I would love it as much as I did. It follows the same time-line as Lucas and I was worried it would be a little repetitive at times, but I was wrong. This story was fantastic and Van and Simone were epic characters!

Simone Fournier is the youngest of the Fournier clan. As her life has turned a little crazy, she's come to stay with her brothers. When she stays with Lucas, she also stays with Van, as he’s his roommate. Simone has it bad for Van. She is instantly attracted to him and relentless with her pursuit. I’m serious here- this girl had me laughing so loud with her attempts to get with Van… I couldn't stop cracking up!

Leaning into Van slightly, I whisper, “I’ll give you some space for now. But don’t be surprised if I crawl into your bed while you’re sleeping.” “I’ll make sure to lock the door,” he growls, and then turns and walks out of his room. I let my laugh follow him all the way out, snickering when the front door slams shut behind him. He and I both know there aren’t any locks on the bedroom doors.

Van has a past that he’s ashamed of, even though its no fault of his own. Due to that past, he doesn't let anyone get too close. Van’s a broken man and Simone is the only one who can seem to get in there and break down his barriers. I adored this couple so much! They were so great together!

Van is one of those books that has it all! It’s steamy, funny, and emotional. I couldn't get enough of Van Turner and Simone Fournier. ‘Shiny’ was the best thing ever! I loved this book so much and I can’t wait for more in this series!

“Van?” I whisper. “Am I still shiny?” He chuckles, pulls me in tighter, and squeezes the breath out of me. “Yes, Simone. So fucking shiny you make everything else in the world seem a little dull by comparison.”

HawkeTourBanner
Title: Hawke (Cold Fury, Book #5)
Author: Sawyer Bennett
Release Date: March 15, 2016
Synopsis:
The New York Times bestselling hockey series featuring the Carolina Cold Fury continues as the team’s most notorious party animal gets blindsided by the one that got away.

Off the ice, elite defenseman Hawke Therrien enjoys his fair share of booze and good times. And why shouldn’t he? He’s worked his way up from the minor leagues and made himself a star. The only thing Hawke misses from that life is the pierced, tattooed free spirit who broke his heart without so much as an explanation. She’s almost unrecognizable when she walks back into his life seven years later—except for the look in her eyes that feels like a punch to the gut.

Vale Campbell isn’t the same girl she was at twenty. As crazy as she was about Hawke, her reckless behavior and out-of-control drinking were starting to scare her. She had to clean up her act, and that would never happen with Hawke around. Cutting him loose was the hardest thing Vale ever had to do—until now. Because she’s still crazy about Hawke. And if he could ever learn to forgive her, they just might have a future together.

I love me some hockey books! For some reason, it is my favorite sport to read about. I have no interest in hockey in the real world, but fictional hockey is my jam ;) Hawke is book five in Sawyer Bennett’s Cold Fury series, but can be read as a standalone. I’ve enjoyed all the books in this series, and though this wasn’t my favorite, it was still a great read!

Unlike the rest of the series, this book is a second chance romance. Hawke and Vale dated through some of high school and college. Something big happened that caused Vale to break things off with Hawke. The big issue here- Hawke has no clue what it was. Either way, seven years have past and Hawke, a pro hockey player, gets transferred to Cold Fury. He is happy about that change. Then he finds out that Vale has just started with the coaching staff. Things get a little complicated from there…

Vale’s father is sick and she has to be with him. He is where he can get the best treatment. The Cold Fury is the best place for her right now. She had no idea Hawke would be there. Now that she’s seen him again, all those feelings come rushing back. It’s not just her, though, Hawke feels it too. As much as they both try to fight it there is something still there. Something between them.

As any second chance romance, there is usually a strong connection from the start, BUT things are always a little more complicated. Every couple breaks up for a reason. So finding out that reason, working through it, and gaining back trust are the real obstacles here.

I liked Hawke a lot. I loved his relationship with Vale’s dad. Some of my favorite parts were the two of them bonding together. Vale irked me at times, but I also admired her for all she was willing to do and sacrifice for her father. It took her a while to come around, but once she did the chemistry and steaminess between she and Hawke was spot on!

If you're in the mood for a second chance sports romance that is short, sexy and sweet- definitely pick this one up! I love Sawyer Bennett’s writing and I can’t wait for this series to continue with Max.

CHRISTY'S REVIEW:
Ryker (Cold Fury Hockey, #4)Ryker by Sawyer Bennett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 stars!

As far as sports romances go, hockey books are my favorite. I don’t know why, I just love reading about them! Ryker is the forth book in Sawyer Bennett’s Cold Fury series. Ever since the last book, I’ve been excited to read about Ryker and his two daughters and wondering who his love interest would be…

Gray is the newly appointed and first ever female manager to a NHL team. She is more than qualified, but that doesn’t mean people aren’t giving her a hard time. Not Ryker though. Ryker believes in her and treats her with respect from the start. They become quick friends and even though it’s forbidden for them to be together because of their careers, they can’t help but start to fall.

I. Cannot. Be. Involved. With. Him.
It’s that simple.
Except… I’m the type of person who’s known for bending the rules.
Hell, throwing the rules out the door.
I’m a pioneer. A risk taker. A box breaker.
I answer to no one but myself.

   photo 4cd25e4b-bc8e-4570-bd01-0a13ef32e257_zps4losnyvv.jpg

Ryker is a single dad of two daughters. I loved the relationship he had with his girls. It was always his first priority, even above playing hokey professionally. Gray is such a strong female lead. She was tough, a hard worker and put her career first. Then Ryker came along and made her question everything. What’s more important? Her job or love? Or is there any possible way she could have both?

These Cold Fury books are a great mix of sweet, steamy, emotional and fun. I’ve enjoyed every one. I love the team and how there are kids in the stories. I’m not sure if there are any more to come, but if Sawyer keeps writing them, I’ll keep reading them :)

For the first time in my life, I feel interest in something other than my career. I feel needed. I feel happy. I feel cherished. I. Feel. Everything. And I don’t want to let it go.

Zack (Cold Fury Hockey, #3)Zack by Sawyer Bennett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 stars!

photo 30c33445-164b-427b-8dad-e4a441b23d66_zpsm65224ij.jpgZack is the 3rd book in Sawyer Bennett’s Cold Fury Hockey series and one I’ve book looking forward to since book 2. Zack is another hockey player on the Cold Fury team. He’s a family man. He has his son, Ben- and he had Ben’s mom, Gina. After a terrible car accident, he doesn’t have Gina any longer and he finds himself a single dad full of pain and guilt. Zack didn’t take Gina’s death well. He was driving the car when she died, so he feels guilty about her death as well as other things in their relationship.

Zack’s career is on hold till he can finish healing, but he’s trying to prepare for going back to work. So he hires a nanny who can look after Ben when he’s at practice or traveling for games. Enter Kate. Quirky, funny and  completely goofy. She is the perfect person for Ben. So she’s hired. At first, Zack doesn’t know what to think of this crazy woman dressed in baggy clothes who wears glasses and constantly makes up wild nicknames for everyone.

photo 0c73f7e4-1dc9-456e-bf8d-dd669bd0ae63_zpsjlemkvmu.jpgAs time goes on, Zack finds himself slowly working through is guilt and his feelings. He finds himself feeling something for the first time in months. Something for Kate. But he won’t let himself go there with her, not completely. He can’t give her a relationship. He can’t go there again. Not yet. Maybe not ever. But it doesn’t change the fact that under her geeky facade there is a beautiful woman, inside and out. A woman he desperately wants.

photo 09d4bd57-e792-4a93-9e28-9ea917e3d68f_zps9p4o8u4k.jpgI’ve got to give it to Sawyer Bennett. In Kate, she wrote a heroine that completely stole the show. This woman was fantastic! Not only was she wonderful with Zack’s son and treated him as her own, she was great with Zack. Even when he didn’t deserve it. She was understanding, fun, charming and had this ability to make everyone around her smile. This couple had amazing chemistry and a connection from the start. Zack had his moments where he was a bit of a jerk. But I think it can be overlooked. People tend to lash out on those they care about most when they’re in pain and I get that. And of course Ben- I adored that little boy! Such a sweet kid.

Zack is a story about moving on from grief and guilt and not only finding love, but finding yourself- forgiving yourself and moving past it. This is a great addition to Sawyer’s Cold Fury sports romance series. After getting to meet Ryker in this book and seeing him with his daughters, I’m very excited for the next book in this series!
