Review: Sweet Spot by Rebecca Jenshak

🔥🔥 REVIEW BLITZ 🔥🔥

Sweet Spot by Rebecca Jenshak is LIVE and FREE in KU!

A hot-headed college golfer falls for her swing coach in this fun and sexy sports romance.

Lincoln Reeves may be a pro golfer and revered swing coach, but when I meet him, he is just one more person telling me I’m not good enough.
So, I do what any girl in my position would do. I tell him to get lost and take his arrogant, annoying smirk with him. I never expect to see him again. I certainly don’t expect to run into him that same night after one too many tequila shots.
Turns out that he’s kind of a big deal. Okay, fine, a really big deal. In fact, he might be the one person who can take my game to the next level.
Convincing him to help will be difficult.
Not throwing my club at his handsome face when he makes me work harder than I thought humanly possible will be excruciating.
But not falling for him will be the hardest thing of all.

SweetSpotRebeccaJenshak

I
’m not a huge golf fan, but I’ve read Rebecca Jenshak’s other NA sports romance series, and had high hopes this would be another win for me. I’m happy to say I enjoyed it a lot.

Keira is a Valley U golfer and one of the best on her team. Due to her coach being a jerk, she doesn’t get the playing time she should. When she meets Lincoln, a professional swing coach, she isn’t sure she needs his help, but she’ll do anything to make it to the top so she enlists him.

Lincoln played professional golf for a while, but now focuses on his business. It’s his first priority, and he has a failed marriage to show for that. He’s a little older than Keira, a little more jaded when it comes to love, but these two have some major chemistry going on from day one. And it’s impossible to ignore.

I loved watching Keira tear down all Lincoln’s walls. She was such a strong and resilient heroine. Lincoln was great too. I loved watching their relationship develop and grow with time.

"You don’t need me… you never did, but I’m glad as hell you found me.”

Sweet Spot was an easy to read, fast paced, sweet, steamy, and fun sports romance. I always love a bit of an age gap and I enjoyed this cast of characters. I hope we get more in this Valley U world, and I would definitely love a book for Lincoln’s brother, Kenton.

Review: Something to Talk About by Meryl Wilsner

A showrunner and her assistant give the world something to talk about when they accidentally fuel a ridiculous rumor in this debut romance.

Hollywood powerhouse Jo is photographed making her assistant Emma laugh on the red carpet, and just like that, the tabloids declare them a couple. The so-called scandal couldn't come at a worse time--threatening Emma's promotion and Jo's new movie.

As the gossip spreads, it starts to affect all areas of their lives. Paparazzi are following them outside the office, coworkers are treating them differently, and a "source" is feeding information to the media. But their only comment is "no comment".

With the launch of Jo's film project fast approaching, the two women begin to spend even more time together, getting along famously. Emma seems to have a sixth sense for knowing what Jo needs. And Jo, known for being aloof and outwardly cold, opens up to Emma in a way neither of them expects. They begin to realize the rumor might not be so off base after all...but is acting on the spark between them worth fanning the gossip flames?

Something to Talk About is Meryl Wilsner’s debut novel, and I really enjoyed it. But reader beware, this one starts out slow. So slow, in fact, that I almost gave up on it. I’m so happy I didn’t. I ended up loving so much about this story and I love a good slow burn romance!

Emma is the assistant to Jo Jones. Yes, that Jo. Jo has been in Hollywood for decades. Starting off as a child actor, then moving on to other behind the scenes things such as writing. Jo takes Emma to an awards show to run interference on some questions she doesn’t want answered and the two get caught on camera smiling and laughing. The picture is innocent, but it starts a huge rumor about Jo dating her much younger assistant.

Now, there is this tension vibrating between them. They slowly start to both realize they have feelings for each other, but neither one of them know what to do with them. It’s a tricky situation, as any boss/employee relationship would be.

Jo wasn't lying when she said Emma got her through most days. She did it because of things like this, because of the way she had Jo's back, the way she took care of her.

I adored watching Jo and Emma start to fall for one another. Their flirty and cute moments were so sweet. I also loved that both characters were so different. Jo is more standoffish and a bit tougher of a nut to crack, but she’s really soft underneath it all. And I just loved Emma. I also really liked the relationship they both had with Emma’s sister.

There honestly wasn’t much I didn’t love about this book, aside from it being almost painfully slow. I do love me a good slow-burn, but this was slower than I’m used to. Still, in my opinion, the payoff was worth the wait. I'm so glad I read it!

Review: Dream Maker by Kristen Ashley

Evie is a bonafide nerd and a hyper-intelligent chick who has worked her whole life to get what she wants. Growing up, she had no support from her family and has only ever been able to rely on herself. So when Evie decides she wants to earn her engineering degree, she realizes she needs to take an alternative path to get there. She takes a job dancing at Smithie's club thinking this would be a quick side gig, where she can make the money she needs. But with her lack of dancing skills and an alpha bad boy who becomes overly protective, Evie realizes this might not be as easy as she thought.

Daniel "Mag" Magnusson knows a thing or two about pain, but the mask he wears is excellent. No one can tell that this good-looking, quick-witted, and roguish guy has deep-seated issues. Mag puts on a funny-guy routine so he can hide his broken heart and PTSD. But when Evie dances her way into Mag's life, he realizes that he needs to come face-to-face with the demons of his past if he wants a future with her.

I love Kristen Ashley's writing, but some of her newer books have been hit or miss for me. This was definitely a hit! If you are a fan of the Rock Chick books or the Dream Man series, you'll see some familiar faces... reunited and it feels so good!

Evie's friend and coworker Lottie has been trying to play matchmaker to all of her girls, and Evie is first on the list. She's setting her up with Lottie's man's (Mo) friend and fellow commando, Mag, aka Danny. While all this is going on, Evie is going through a huge family mess. Her family is a complete and utter trainwreck, and somehow, she always seems to get stuck in the middle of it all.

Danny can tell Evie is in danger with a situation her brother put her into and he's there to help. This book is not just a romance, it's a bit of an adventure. Watching Evie and Danny fall in love amidst all the drama they're going through was just the icing on the cake.

“Babe,” he leaned into a hand on the counter toward me, “it’s you.” “What’s me?” I whispered. “For me.”

Evie the type of heroine I love. Nerdy and quirky, has a big heart, and funny. Danny is a hero who's never let anyone truly in since he got back from overseas, but Evie changes his mind and his heart just by being her. I loved this couple together!

This book reminded me of all the things I love about KA's writing. The sisterhood, the alpha males, the endearing heroines. It was a great start to this new series and I can't wait to read more about this world and Danny & Evie's friends!!

Dig a little and you'll find photos of me in the bathtub with Ezra Stern.
Get your mind out of the gutter. We were six months old.
Pry and one of us might confess we saved our first kiss for each other.
The most clumsy, wet, sloppy . . . spectacular thirty seconds of my adolescence.
Get into our business and you'll see two families, closer than blood, torn apart in an instant.
Twenty years later, my "awkward duckling" best friend from childhood,
the boy no one noticed, is a man no one can ignore.

𝙁𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙧. 𝙁𝙞𝙚𝙧𝙘𝙚𝙧. 𝙎𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙚𝙧.

Tell me it's wrong.
Tell me the boy who always felt like mine is now the man I can’t have.
When we find each other again, everything stands in our way--secrets, lies, promises.
But we didn't come this far to give up now.
And I know just the move to make if I want to make him mine.

You don’t blame magnets for being drawn to each other. But if they’re far enough apart, they can’t stick. For the last two decades, Ezra and I were far enough apart not to stick, but now…

Kennedy Ryan blows me away with her writing every time. Every. Single. Time. With every book she writes, she solidifies just how talented she is. You can feel the heart and the passion in every single book, every chapter, every word. Queen Move was one of the best friends to lovers romances I’ve ever read.

Kimba is a secondary character from ‘The Kingmaker’ and when I met her in that book, I knew I wanted her story. She is unapologetically herself and a strong and independent woman. I wasn’t sure what man would be able to take her on, but Ezra Stern has what it takes.

Ezra and Kimba were best friends from the time they were infants until their teenage years when Ezra’s family moved out of the country. Ezra and Kimba always had a special bond, and unbreakable friendship. They’ve been out of each others lives for so many years and things are complicated, but it’s obvious even after all this time, these two belong together.

There are parts towards the end of this story that are angsty and a bit…messy. This could have been handled in a bad way, but Kennedy handled it perfectly. I was worried this twist of the story would make me love the book a little less, but it only made me love these characters and their story even more. They were resilient and strong and proved that their love was for real, even during hard times.

“I think I fell in love with her every day for the first thirteen years of my life, and as soon as I saw her again, my heart just remembered.”

This book was special. This story was important. These characters moved me. I can’t get enough of Kennedy Ryan’s works and I hope she never ever stops writing. If you’re looking for an epic book that has steam, an incredible prose, and will give you all the feels, pick up Queen Move!

Cover Reveal: Thoroughly Whipped by Tillie Cole!

I, Faith Parisi, love my life. I have the best job—resident sex-advice diva for Visage magazine—I have the best friends, and I live in the best city in the world. Things are pretty damn fabulous. That is, until Henry “Harry” Sinclair III comes crashing back into my world like a bad case of herpes.

I hate the way Harry’s lip curls in contempt whenever he sees me. I hate his bright blue eyes and those inexplicably offensive dimples. I hate his stuffy English accent and the stick that’s permanently jammed up his aristocratic ass. More than anything, I hate that he’s now my boss.

But my professional prospects start to look up when a chance at writing Visage’s big summer feature falls into my lap. Success won’t be easy. I’ll need to let go of all my inhibitions—not that I have that many of those—and jump, stiletto heels first, into a hedonistic new world. An exclusive, secretive world, filled with leather, latex, and Manhattan’s elite.

Pulling this off will take every ounce of daring I have, and every ounce of focus. I can’t afford to get distracted by anything, least of all my new boss, his arrogant mouth, or the way the ice between us seems to be slowly melting away…

Blog Tour: Dirty Charmer by Emma Chase

“If I try to kiss you at midnight, when I’m off shift and you’re officially not a client anymore . . . would you let me?”

Dirty Charmer by New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Emma Chase, is LIVE!

Abigail Haddock is stunning, sensible, and some would say . . . stuffy. But it’s not really her fault. She was raised in one of Wessco’s oldest, most affluent, aristocratic families—“stuffy” is their middle name. So is successful. Abby’s working overtime to distinguish herself as a top-notch physician, just as her family legacy demands.

She doesn’t have time for nonsense.

Tommy Sullivan’s all about nonsense.

Sure, he’s an elite bodyguard with lethal skills and co-owner of the renowned, S&S Securities Firm—protector of the wealthy and titled. But he’s also rowdy, fun and thoroughly irresistible.

Tommy knows how to have a good time, and he’s never seen someone more in need of a good time than Abby. The lass needs long, wet, filthy kisses—STAT—and he’s just the man for the job.

It doesn’t take long for a wildly sexy, sinfully satisfying, no-strings attached arrangement to turn into something more. Something sweet and addictive and real. But Tommy and Abby are too royally stubborn to admit it.

Opposites attract, everyone knows that. But can they last—can they love…for forever?

Perhaps I wasn't precisely happy, but I was satisfied. Then Tommy Sullivan came along and he changed all my plans.

I love Emma Chase's Royally books, and I was so excited to see we were getting another in this series. I couldn't have been happier to find out it was Tommy Sullivan's story. I loved him in Logan and Ellie's book and I was so excited to watch this bodygaurd find his match. And he did just that when he met Abigail Haddock.

Abigail is a doctor and meets Tommy for the first time when he's in the ER. I loved their first meeting. Tommy and Abby couldn't be more different if they tried. Tommy is a bit wild and reckless, but in a good way, whereas Abby is more straitlaced and organized. I would have never seen these two as a couple, but Tommy is enamored with Abby and pursues her relentlessly.

This couple did not have an easy go of it. There were family issues, misunderstandings, and life got in the way, but with time, they were determined to figure it out. I loved how Tommy never gave up on Abby and respected her work, life, and loved her for her. They really were a fantastic couple.

Dirty Charmer showcases just how much opposites really do attract. I love that Tommy and Abby are so different, yet they're perfect for one another. Emma Chase has blown me away with this series. I've loved every book and this is no exception. If you're looking for a book that's fun, steamy, sweet, and will keep a smile on your face, pick this one up!

Excerpt:

Abby

Me: Are you texting while you’re driving??

Apparently, Tommy and his bodyguard brethren are trained to text without actually having to look at their phones, so they can communicate covertly with the device in their pocket.

But I’ve explained to him—at length—that that doesn’t matter worth a damn.

I’ve informed him of the overwhelming statistics on the dangers of texting while operating a vehicle and I’ve disclosed my firsthand experiences of seeing the deadly carnage of such behavior during my emergency room rotations.

And still, after a weighted pause, he replies:

Godly Orgasm Giver : Maybe.

Me: Well, STOP IT!!

For a moment, the screen remains quiet . . . and then those sneaky little dots appear again.

Godly Orgasm Giver: I like it when you get all shouty caps at me—have I ever told you that?

I’m going to revisit the idea of Tommy teaching me how to throw a punch. It would come in handy at moments just like this.

“Is everything all right, Abby?” my mother asks. “You’re all flushed.”

She examines me above her glasses like I’m a bug under a microscope.

“I . . .”

Grogg, the butler, bends down and dips his large, square head towards my grandmother.

“A gentleman is out front, Lady Agatha . . .”

Oh no.

“On a motorbike.”

OH NOOOO.

“Well, send him away.” The Dowager Countess shoos her hand in the air, as countesses do. “We don’t accept solicitations.”

I scramble to my feet. “Actually, he’s here for me.”

I throw my tablet and phone and books into my satchel, to hasten my not-so-great escape.

“Pardon?” my father inquires.

“He?” my grandmother prods.

I swallow hard, rushing out the words. “Yes. He’s a friend. I messaged him for a lift.”

My brother Sterling’s eggs-Benedict-laden fork pauses midair on its way to his mouth.

“I didn’t know you had the sort of friends who road motorbikes.”

“I didn’t know you had friends,” my sister Athena comments, not in a cruel way, but with sincere surprise.

I shrug, looping the strap of my satchel over my shoulder.

“Yes, well . . . you know . . .”

With that brilliant retort, I turn and walk out of the room.

I head towards the foyer, the heels of my knee-high boots clicking rapidly on the marble floor like a ticking time bomb. I yank open the giant front door and . . . come to an immediate stop on the veranda outside of it.

Because Tommy’s there, down the long gray steps on the front drive, sitting easily astride a shiny contraption of chrome and steel, wearing work boots, snug blue jeans and a black leather jacket—looking so sinfully good it might actually be illegal.

I have to remind myself that I’m angry with him, and when I do, I march straight down the steps. His eyes alight on my boots, skirt and light gray sweater—the ensemble gives off an unintended “naughty schoolteacher” feel—and the corner of Tommy’s wicked mouth hooks up accordingly.

“Hello, sweetheart.”

“Are you mad?!”

He takes a moment to think it over.

“Not the last time I checked.”

“What are you doing here?” I hold out my hands. “And what is this?”

“It’s a motorbike.”

“It’s death on wheels.”

He chuckles. “James loaned it to me for the day. The hills are beautiful this time of year—I thought we’d take a ride together. You wanted stress relief, didn’t you?” Tommy taps the shiny handlebar. “A ride on this is as stress-relieving as it gets—better than normal-bloke sex.”

I peer at him. Do I want to know?

Apparently I do, because I hear myself asking, “Normal-bloke sex?”

“Yeah.” He winks. “I mean it’s not better than how I do it—obviously. But the way an average bloke has sex—this is definitely better.”

I shake my head, folding my arms. “Do you have any idea how dangerous these things are? The statistics on motorbike fatalities are—”

Tommy covers my mouth with his hand.

His palm is warm, and so is his voice—a thick, sweet, honeyed tone.

“Do you trust me, Abby?”

After a moment, he takes his hand away and I gaze into those deep, dark eyes . . . falling into them so easily it should be frightening.

My answer is simple. True ones always are.

“I do.”

Tommy smiles fully, and my stomach flutters with that lovely swirling sensation.

“Then climb on.”

He places a helmet on my head, buckling the strap under my chin.

“And you might want to do it fast—your granny’s coming.”

I glance over my shoulder to see the whole family gathered outside the front of the door, a spectrum of curious and gob-smacked expressions plastered on their typically reserved faces. And my grandmother is indeed headed this way, her jeweled necklace jingling as she quickly descends the long slope of stone steps.

“Abigail!”

Her voice is high-pitched and harried—a tone I’ve never heard her use before, and one I’m not keen on exploring now.

“Have to be going!” I lift my hand and give them a thumbs-up. “Talk soon!”

Like a teenager running off with the town bad boy, I hike up my skirt and climb onto the motorbike behind Tommy. He clasps my hands together securely over his stomach.

“Hold on tight, lass.”

I do just that—squeezing my arms around his solid frame and resting my cheek against the warm leather on his back as he revs the engine to life and we pull away with a roar that vibrates in my bones.

And as strange as it is—or maybe it’s not strange at all—I’ve never felt safer.
