Better When He's Bad by Jay Crownover blog tour

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jay Crownover returns with a heart-stopping new series… Welcome to the Point.
There’s a difference between a bad boy and a boy who’s bad . . . meet Shane Baxter.
Sexy, dark, and dangerous, Bax isn’t just from the wrong side of the tracks, he is the wrong side of the tracks. A criminal, a thug, and a brawler, he’s the master of bad choices, until one such choice landed him in prison for five years. Now Bax is out and looking for answers, and he doesn’t care what he has to do or who he has to hurt to get them. But there’s a new player in the game, and she’s much too innocent, much too soft…and standing directly in his way.
Dovie Pryce knows all about living a hard life and the tough choices that come with it. She’s always tried to be good, tried to help others, and tried not to let the darkness pull her down. But the streets are fighting back, things have gone from bad to worse, and the only person who can help her is the scariest, sexiest, most complicated ex-con The Point has ever produced.
Bax terrifies her, awakening feelings she never thought she’d have for a guy like him. But it doesn’t take Dovie long to realize . . . some boys are just better when they’re bad.

4.5 Bad Boy Bax Stars!

Welcome to The Point.

Wow. This book. What is it about "Bad Boys"? Especially bad boys with a heart? That is exactly what Shane 'Bax' Baxter is. Just released from prison after a 5 year sentence, he picks up his sweet as hell ride and heads straight for pussy. Not just any pussy, one he knows is guaranteed. Just after his post-coital bliss, he gets knocked around by Benny. Benny is Novak's, the bad, bad mans right hand man. They inform him that Race, his best friend is missing. They also inform him that Race has a sister and that they tried to get her to talk.

So next thing Bax does is go to interrogate this sister. This is where he meets Dovie, a plain Jane type of woman. But something about her drawls him to her. She brings out his protective side. This is where we get a glimpse into the man Shane, not Bax. And let me tell you, it is such a beautiful sight seeing the man behind the 'bad guy' label. He doesn't show that side to anyone but Dovie.

I really liked Dovie. She was EXACTLY what Bax needed in his life. She knew how to handle the bad guy while drawing out the good in him.

"You don't need anyone to show you how to be good, you're so much better when you're bad."

The story progresses with Bax and Dovie trying to get information on the where-abouts of Race. Bax needs to know what went down to put him in jail because things didn't add up to him. We meet several important side characters as well. Bax's half brother Titus is one of those characters. He is one you will love from the start, and love him even more throughout the book.

When confronted with all the bad that Bax has following him around Dovie had the best response.

" Some boys...they are just better when they're bad. Bax is one of them and I'm starting to think my brother might be one of them, too. I just have to be good enough for all of us to balance it out."

I obviously don't want to give away too much about the story so I'm telling you if you enjoy reading about men who are bad, with a touch of good, this is the book for you. If you like men who have a past and are trying to work through it the best they can, this is a story for you. If you love romance with a side of angst and drama, you will most definitely love this book.

I am a HUGE fan of Jay Crownover's work and will read anything that woman writes. I can't wait to see what she has in store for is with this series and with the Marked Men series. She can write the bad sexy men perfectly!

  1. I love to read about bad boys who are loyal, flawed, intelligent, and of course very sexy. :)
