BLURB

Fans call me the king of the water. I'm focused, driven, and most importantly, I win.

Life as a professional swimmer comes with sacrifices, but they’ve never worried me. I’m used to life with little room for anything but training, eating, and sleeping.

Nothing more, nothing less.

When a son I knew nothing about lands on my doorstep—and a crazy but very beautiful nanny shortly after—my life is turned upside down. Allowing any change into my life could put my goals and dreams in jeopardy, and I’ve worked too hard and too long for them.

When I’m tempted to look beyond lap times and medals to bedtime stories and the possibility of love, I face one of the hardest questions of my life: is it worth the risk?

CHRISTY'S REVIEW

When I'm looking for a sweet, sexy, and fun story, Jasmin Miller is a go to author. Her books always hit the spot and I especially enjoyed this one.

Jace is a professional swimmer and at twenty eight, he's lived his life as a bachelor thus far. Until one day, he gets the surprise of a lifetime. He has a son. This isn't the secret baby type troupe I hate, so putting that out there right now. But regardless, Jace is now a new father to a toddler and has no idea what to do. His mom helps some, but he decides to hire a nanny. That's where Emilia, or Millie comes in.

Millie has worked on a popular telivision program and is great with kids. She's perfect for Tanner. Even though Jace thinks she's a bit odd at first, she really grows on him as well. The relationship between Millie and Jace is slow burn in the best way. I loved watching them fall for one another.

I love single parent romances and I'm especially a sucker for the single dad falling for the nanny troupe. This did it perfectly. It had everything I love about kids in books, and nothing I hate. Watching Jace and Tanner together and seeing Jace come into his own as a father was one of my favorite things about this story.

It’s incomparable to anything else I’ve ever experienced. It’s almost like there was a place in my heart that was untouched until he entered my life, a spot that was reserved for him alone.

Jace was a great dad and a fabulous hero, but Millie really stole the show for me. She was the best and I loved how she was with Tanner and how she was unapoligetically herself. She has big dreams and wasn't afraid to go after them. And even though there was a bit of angst thrown in, Jace truly loved her and supported her dreams.

If you're a fan of single parent romances, sport romances, or are just looking for your next sweet and steamy romance, pick up Fresh Meet. I enjoyed it lots and I'm hoping we get more from these characters, because I can't wait to read about some of Jace's friends!

A sweet, flirty, and heartfelt romance with two roommates that spend one enthralling summer together.

Famous author, Gabe Mitchell, doesn’t fare much better. On top of watching his roommate letting her life pass by, he also suffers from a major bout of writer’s block.
Hoping a change of scenery will get them both out of their rut, Gabe takes matters into his own hands and whisks Monica away to his own personal haven.
What neither one of them expects is the attraction to each other to bloom even though Monica will leave Brooksville in a matter of weeks.
Their time together is filled with skimpy bathing suits, sexy fantasy book inspirations, hot tub make-out sessions, and new job prospects.
It’s plenty to reignite their creative flames, but will it be enough to turn their one short summer into something more?

CHRISTY'S REVIEW:

   photo IMG_4269_zpsurpcuol0.png

Immediately after finishing Baking with a Rockstar, I knew I wanted Monica and Gabe's story. I love a good friends to lovers romance and these two aren't just friends, they're roommates. This was the sweetest and swooniest story and I adored it!

Monica has been staying with Gabe for a while now. After an injury left her unable to continue her career in dance, she's missing that direction for her life. Dance has always been that one thing she wanted to do and not knowing if she'll be able to do it in the future terrifies her. Gabe is trying to help her move on. He knows she has it in her to dance again and they go on a bit of a get away to motivate her.

“Monica, you will dance again. You know that, right?” His voice is strong and steady, so full of confidence that my heart skips a beat. I shrug my shoulders but don’t respond. I want to believe it. I want to believe him. But I’m afraid it’s too late.

Gabe is an author and he has it bad for Monica. This retreat they go on makes him realize it even more. The more time these two spend together isolated, the more Monica's feelings for Gabe start to develop. I loved watching these two fall for one another. Watching them fall in love was the best. Just as this is all happening, Monica finds it in herself starting to dance again. And as thrilling as it is for her, if she goes back to her dance company, it takes her away from Gabe which is a scary thought... what's a girl to do?

Gabe was seriously the best hero. He was kind, generous, and all around a great guy. I loved Monica as well. It was great to watch her find herself again after the rut she was in. I also loved getting to see some of the characters from the first book in this series. Even though this book can be read as a complete stand-alone, I would recommend checking out the first book. It will give you a bit of Monica and Gabe's back story, plus it's a great read!

If you're looking for something sexy, sweet, fun, and flirty pick this up! You'll be left with a big smile on your face. This is the perfect summer read!!

EXCERPT:
Pulling out the barstool beside her, I sit down, wanting to be on her eye level. It takes me bumping my knees into hers for her to look at me, but at least she finally does. “Hey! Remember it’s me you’re talking to. We’ve been sharing a house for most of the last year. That’s pretty much as close as anyone has ever been to me, not that I would do this for just anyone. You’re a very sweet, kind, caring, and talented person. You need to get it in your pretty head that you don’t owe me a thing. I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat.”
My words don’t exactly trigger the response I intended as I watch the pink tinge travel up Monica’s neck and cheeks before she covers her face with her hands. “Oh gosh. Stop it already. I can't remember the last time I blushed. How embarrassing.”
Flabbergasted.
I’m absolutely stunned she’s reacting this way.
It’s also interesting she can still surprise me after we’ve known each other all this time.

Review: The Best Kind of Mistake by Jasmin Miller

Title: The Best Kind Of Mistake
Series: The Best Kind Novella #1
Author: Jasmin Miller
Genre: New Adult Romance
Release Date: May 2nd, 2019

BLURB

Life regret number one: Moving into an apartment where all I hear are the moans coming from my downstairs neighbor's apartment. It's pretty obvious what's happening behind those doors, which is even more frustrating when you aren't getting any action yourself.

To make matters worse, I got fired from my job, and my savings account is pathetic. That means I can't eat my body weight in donuts, even if I wanted to...and I really want to. Thanks to my sister, though, I have a new work opportunity lined up, and I promised myself I wouldn't do anything to lose this one. Until I realize my new boss, Logan, is none other than my sex god of a neighbor.

Keeping my ever-growing attraction to him in check proves to be a lot harder than I thought, especially with my knowledge of his extracurricular activities. When my new job as his photography assistant keeps throwing us together--sometimes completely eliminating our personal space--I find it more and more difficult to remember why I'm supposed to stay away from him.

Hi, I'm Ember Keaton, and I suck at adulting.

The Best Kind of Mistake is an adorably sweet, sexy, and fun novella.

Ember’s life is kind of a mess right now. She's jobless and not doing the best job at adulating. Thankfully, her sister helps her out with a connection and gets her a job assisting a photographer. That photographer is Logan, someone she knows from her building but has never met. Logan and Ember have a lot of chemistry and an instant connection. I loved watching them fall for one another.

When Ember meets Logan, things aren’t exactly as they seem. And I loved that aspect of the book! I really enjoyed both of the characters and I love Jasmin’s writing. This was a quick story- it only took me about an hour to read, and it was a lot of fun. I only wish we got more of Ember and Logan!!

EXCERPT 1 (Embers POV)

Tall, muscular, and handsome as hell.

Check, check, and check.

Dang it.

Why does the very person I hate the most right now have to be this hot? Good thing his behavior is the best anti-attraction method there is. I mean, who likes a person that keeps you awake at night because he’s having super loud sex marathons in the apartment right below you? Maybe some people do, but I’m not one of them. I have dignity and class, and… Okay, maybe I’m just grumpy and sleep-deprived.

“Ember, are you even listening? You have that glassy look on your face.” My sister doesn’t hide the annoyance in her voice, but it’s still not enough to pull my gaze away from the troublemaker, a.k.a. my neighbor across the street. He’s just come out of our apartment building with a hot blonde on his arm, slapping her butt as they part ways.

What a pig.

They walk out of sight for a moment, and I reluctantly turn around to face my sister, Evelyn, who is now clicking her fingernails on the metal table in the café we’re sitting in.

I have to admit there are definitely advantages to living across the street from a café. I can meet up with family members or friends here instead of them coming to my place, where they’d inspect every last corner. Plus, the coffee and pastries are delicious. And, as it turns out, it’s also a prime spot for stalking my neighbor.

Evelyn holds up a manicured finger. “Wait a second. Is that the guy you told me about?” She cranes her neck so far, I’m worried she might get seriously hurt. “Oh my goodness. I think I have to come here more often.” She fans her face with the menu while we both stare after him and his fantastic butt, as he strolls down the street to slip into a shiny, black sports car.

CHRISTY'S REVIEW:

   photo IMG_3211_zpsxceltvl6.png

Baking with a Rockstar has got to be the sweetest rockstar romance I’ve ever read. Usually when I hear a book is a rockstar romance I think, sex drugs and rock and roll. This book was not like that at all. This rockstar was swoony, sweet, and had a heart of gold.

Charlie is a single mother who is venturing out to open her own bakery. She’s getting a little help and staying with her grandma’s best friend. All is going well, till she meets the man who owns the house she’s living in. Her friend’s grandson and famous rockstar, Hudson Mitchell.

Hudson is taking a much needed break from the road and recording and getting some r&r in his small town. He doesn’t expect to find Charlie and her daughter living at his place, albeit temporarily. Hudson is enamored with Charlie and baby Mira and ends up helping her with her bakery.

Hudson was seriously the sweetest. This book was low on the steam, but heavy on the swoon-worthy romance. I loved that it wasn’t completely predictable, there was actually a twist about Charlie that surprised me. I really enjoyed the writing and the story and I’m hoping we get a book about Hudson’s brother Gabe and Charlie’s bestie Monica! I would love to read that!

If you’re in the a fan of single parent books or are in the mood for a sweet romance that will lift your spirits and put a smile on your face, pick up Baking with a Rockstar!!

“Love is a gift we should enjoy as much as we possibly can when we’re given it. Take it as it is—one of the best and most beautiful things that can ever happen to you if you find the right person.”

EXCERPT

“Charlie, where do you want me next?” Hudson’s voice sounds from behind me, making me jump.
The hairs on the back of my neck rise at the sound of his rich voice—the deep timbre almost echoing across the room—as I spin around to face him. “Gosh, Hudson, can you please stop sneaking up on me like that?”
I slap his shoulder lightly, leaving a nice flour mark on his black T-shirt.
Good. Serves him right.
Today is our second day together at “work,” and I still have to get used to him being around. Thankfully, I barely saw him yesterday, since he was helping one of the contractors fix a few things outside the building while I hid in my office, hunched over a pile of papers to make sure everything’s going according to plan. I wonder if Hudson stayed away from me on purpose, giving me some time to get used to him. I’m almost certain he knows how easily some people get overwhelmed by his presence.
He grimaces, but the mischief is clearly displayed in the way his eyes sparkle. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to, but you were so absorbed in your work. There could be a meteor coming your way, and you wouldn’t know it until it hit you.”
Well, he’s got me there. When I focus on something, it’s easy for me to zone out. “Very funny.”
I glare at him playfully and study him for a moment, taking him in, from his black T-shirt all the way to his dark gray jeans that are paired with black boots. His whole outfit is covered in dust, dirt, and a few specks of paint. He looks every bit the busy worker bee he’s been, and since I’m not blind—and my hormones practically demand it—I have to admit, he couldn’t look sexier.

Excerpt 2:

The smart and rational side of my brain seems to be on a break because all I’m capable of doing is raking my eyes over Mr. Basketball Shorts. He’s tall with broad shoulders and the most pronounced abs I’ve ever seen up close. The baseball cap on his head is turned backward, and he’s currently wiping his face off with what I assume to be his shirt. That is the only reason he hasn’t seen me yet, and why I haven’t seen his face yet either. But I’m going out on a limb here and say it’s probably as gorgeous as the rest of him.

My eyes drift back to his drool-worthy chest, following the beads of sweat that are slowly running down his torso to the V-shaped lower abs until they disappear into the pair of shorts that sits low on his hips.

Sudden heat shoots through my body, making my cheeks tingle from the force of it. My brain uses that moment of distraction to finally kick back in again, reminding me of the situation at hand.

A total stranger is standing in my kitchen.

Half-naked.

And we’re all alone in this house.
