This book was something special. Quite frankly, it’s the first book in a while that blew me away. The storytelling is magical and it’s such a heart-wrenching, yet beautiful tale. I am such a fan of time traveling in books, especially when it’s done well, and this was done so well. It’s a historical romance and I can tell Amy did her research. This book was well thought out, smart, enthralling, and fascinating. I loved it so much!

This story starts with Anne Gallagher at her dying grandfather’s side. Her heart is broken. Eoin isn’t just Anne’s grandfather. He’s her confidant, her best friend, and he raised her. After Eoin passes, he wishes for Anne to take him back to the one place they’ve never traveled. Back to his hometown in Ireland. Anne is grieving, but also excited to be here. She feels closer to Eoin than ever. As she goes to spread his ashes as she promised, something strange happens…

  Anne finds herself not in the current twenty-first century, but in the 1920’s. She finds herself back at the same place Eoin grew up, only Thomas Smith, the doctor that helped raise Eoin is there, and Anne is mistaken from her great grandmother, who she is a dead-ringer for. Anne can’t explain herself, her great-grandmother had been ‘missing’ for some time and it’s a very complicated situation.

As more time passes, Anne becomes used to living in this other time period. The more time she spends with Thomas, the more she never wants to leave. Sigh. Thomas. This man was gentle, kind, generous, and the best kind of hero. I didn’t know how a happy ending between these two could come to fruition but I hoped with all my heart they got the happiness they both deserved.

“Thomas?” I moaned into his mouth. “Yes?” he murmured, his body thrumming beneath my hands. “I want to stay,” I panted. “Anne,” he demanded, swallowing my sighs and caressing my cares away. “Yes?” “Please don’t go.”

I don’t want to talk much more about the past, present, or logistics. It’s better to read that for yourself and see. I will say that the way the author wrote it made sense in the best way it could. Everything is connected, everything that happened happened for a reason and at the right time. It may not seem that way, but it did. It was completely seamless.

This book was a stunning romance, but it was also historical in a way that kept my interest and I honestly felt like I really learned a lot about this time in Irish history from this book. I loved that. I actually looked up some of the characters that were based on real people and read up on them, I was that interested. I am not the biggest history buff, but the way Amy wrote this book had me so curious.

What the Wind Knows is truly a gem of a book. I have no doubts at all that it will be on my top favorite list of 2019. It shows that love is timeless. It will give you all the feels and truly make your heart want to explode with happiness. This story is beautiful, magical and it’s not just something you read, it’s something you experience. A definite must read!

Amy Harmon has done it again. She’s woven together a complex, heartbreaking, and uplifting story that I couldn’t put down. The Smallest Part was on the angsty side for Harmon, it was also a bit steamier than what she usually writes, and I couldn’t get enough. This book captivated me from the first page and never let go. It’s a story of friendship, of family, of heartache, loss, and of love.

This is the tale of the girl who didn’t get the guy.

Mercedes and Noah have been friends since they were 8 years old. Their relationship has always been more than just friendship, though. They have an unbreakable bond. When they get a little older, they meet Cora and their duo becomes a trio. Cora’s home life has been one that’s been difficult, but the difference between her and the other two, is Cora doesn’t know how to cope with it. Eventually, Cora and Noah become a thing. When Cora lets Mercedes know about her feelings, Mer lies about her own. What is she to do? Mer is that kind of friend, the one who would sacrifice her own happiness for another. So from there on out, it’s Noah and Cora.

There is so much that happens in the present of this book. The lives of Mercedes and Noah have forever changed. The one consistent thing, the thing that has always been true, is that through all the sorrow, the two of them have each other.

Mercedes is one of the most loyal, fierce, and stand-up heroines I’ve read about. She’s tough, fiery, and everything she does, all the sacrifices she makes, she does for the ones she loves. She was the character that stole the show for me in this one. Dr. Noah Andelin is a character I remember reading from one of Harmon’s other reads (and what an incredible cameo in this book!) and he has the greatest heart. It’s so big, so full, and even with all the loss he’s experienced, he still manages to be this light for others.   

There is no better pairing than the one of Noah and Mercedes. No couple more deserving of each other. I loved their friendship and the chemistry between them. The title of this book couldn’t be more fitting. Some of the smallest parts of this book had the most life. The characters of this book were so complex, and so many different things were woven together to make for an incredible read. So many parts had me in tears, but I also couldn’t wipe the smile off my face through a lot of the story.

The Smallest Part is an unforgettable read. I struggle to say this is Harmon’s best book, because, to be honest, most of her books are on this level of greatness. I can imagine it is more difficult to write many brilliant and unforgettable reads, than to just write one and never do it again. Amy thrives on writing these books. She’s consistent with her amazing story telling, and this book was no exception. This story has so much heart, it was bursting at the seams. I love how friendship is such a focus in this story. How all the small things add up and come together. I honestly loved everything about it. This will be going on my favorites shelf and I highly recommend picking it up.

Every once in a while you read a book that just resonates with you. While reading you just KNOW that it will change your life after reading it. This happened while reading The Law of Moses, Making Faces and now with The Smallest Part. To say I was excited is an understatement when I found out Amy Harmon had a new release. But to find out that it was involved in the same world as The Law of Moses? I was beyond ecstatic! If you’ve never read TLoM...you should fix that right away, but it doesn’t have to be read to understand TSP.

Mercedes, Noah and Cora. The three amigos. I didn’t know what to expect when I read the blurb. I knew to expect heartache. But I wasn’t prepared for what I got. How do I even begin to describe how much this book touched me? How do I tell everyone how amazing this story is? Dr. Noah Andelin is a character that will reside me with me for a long time. Amy Harmon weaved together “all the small parts” to bring us a book that will stay in our hearts for a long time!

I always find a quote in Amy’s writing that just speaks to me. With The Smallest Part it’s this one.

“In the end, only three things matter. Who He is. Who you are, and who your friends are.”

That right there is 100% truth. I updated my status on GR so many times while reading, I had to get my feelings out. I don’t want to spoil any part of this book because you need to FEEL the story as you read. But as the story was progressing I KNEW something big was coming. And boy was I RIGHT!

I know I’m babbling here, but I don’t know how to get my feelings across that this book needs to be read and felt! Other than to scream at everyone to BUY THIS BOOK!

Amy Harmon’s unique stories and beautiful writing always blows me away. There is something so special and different about her The Bird and the Sword Chronicles. I’ll be the first to admit, I’m not much of a fantasy reader. I’ll dabble in it occasionally, but it’s not my genre of choice. Amy is one of those authors- I’ll read anything she writes. I’m glad I took a chance on something different once again. The Queen and the Cure is an exceptional book.

When I read the first book in this series last year, I was intrigued by Kjell of Jeru. He is a brave man. A warrior and a healer, which is quite the contradiction. Kjell is coming to terms with being one of the ‘Gifted’. It’s not something he’s sure he’ll ever get used to. Kjell is out with his men fighting the good fight to get rid of the Volgar, when he stumbles upon a scarlet haired woman who is in need of help. She is in need of the kind of help only a healer can give. After Kjell helps her, he comes to find she is one of the Gifted as well. She can see things in the future, things that have yet to be.

Kjell finds himself on a journey with this woman who can see bits of the future, but remembers none of her past. Sasha moves along with Kjell back to Jeru, and as their journey goes on, feelings start to develop between the two. This book gave me so many feels. There was angst, heartbreak, and so much beauty and emotion. I want to say so much, but I loved the surprises thrown in.

The Queen and the Cure is a book I’d recommend to everyone. I don’t care if you love fantasy, or you’re like me and just love a good story period, read this book. It was a stunning tale that was brilliantly written and I can’t wait to read more from this world!
