Lovewrecked by Karina Halle is LIVE!

Lovewrecked - RB banner.jpg

From New York Times bestselling author Karina Halle comes a sexy new standalone romantic comedy about getting stuck on a deserted island with a man you hate to love and love to hate.

Lovewrecked is LIVE!

LOVEWRECKED-FOR-WEB.jpg

Daisy Lewis is experiencing a relentless string of bad luck.

Fortunately, Daisy has her sister’s destination wedding coming up. A week of sand, sea, and sun in the South Pacific as the maid-of-honor is exactly what Daisy needs to forget her upturned life and focus on the positive.

That is until Daisy meets the best man.

If you take tall, dark, and handsome, and add a dash of rugged, a pinch of brooding, and a whole lot of sexy, you’ve got Tai Wakefield. Unfortunately he’s also a major grump, total alpha, and seemingly out to antagonize Daisy at every turn.

As if being part of the wedding party with Tai wasn’t bad enough, Daisy’s bad luck soon resurfaces when she ends up on a cramped sailboat with Tai and the newlyweds.

Which then shipwrecks on a deserted island near Fiji.

Okay, so they aren’t completely alone. There’s an oddball research scientist who has been isolated for far too long, they have rundown bungalows as shelter, stores of water and canned food, plus a feral goat named Wilson. It’s Lost…without the smoke monster.

But with rescue weeks away, Tai and Daisy realize the only way they’re going to get through this mess is to stop fighting and start working together.

And with their guards down, they get closer.

A lot closer.

Soon, Daisy realizes that the only thing worse than being stuck on a deserted island, is being stuck on a deserted island with a man she hates to love and loves to hate.

A man that can break her heart.

Cover Reveal: The One That Got Away by Karina Halle

TOTGA - CR banner.jpg

The One That Got Away, a second chance standalone contemporary romance by New York Times bestselling author Karina Halle is coming April 2, 2020!

Copy of TheOneThatGotAway-PRINT-FOR-WEB.jpg

Ruby Turner was never meant to be mine.

When I first met her, she was a fresh, young, American sports journalist trying to find her footing in a new life abroad. She was the one interviewing me for an article, yet I wanted to know more about her. She captivated me.

But she went home with Marco that night.

My agent.

My brother.

And I did what I could to pretend I was fine with it.

After all, I’m Luciano Ribeiro. As the captain of Real Madrid, and Portugal’s National Team, it’s my job to be cool, calm, and collected, not easily rattled.

Only what I felt for Ruby over time, shook me to my very core.

It made me do things I never imagined I would do.

It started with a stolen kiss in the middle of the night.

It led to a passionate tryst.

It created a burden of guilt that I had to carry, as Ruby came in and out of my life until she left for good, leaving her mark on me.

Now, seven years later, she’s back.

She was the one that got away.

I don’t think I’ll let her go this time.

But I might not have a choice.

Because my heart still belongs to her.

And her heart might belong to my brother.

CHRISTY'S REVIEW

   photo IMG_5794 2_zps0kbrehzk.png

Karina Halle ended The Dumonts series with a bang. Disavow is one of those books I was looking forward to, but was also a little nervous to read it. Pascal Dumont has not been a likable character throughout this series, but I should have known Karina could pull it off. She gave us the most delectable antihero with Pascal, and a strong and brave heroine with Gabrielle.

Gabrielle's mother is the maid for the Dumont household. Gabrielle lived there when she was a teenager, but she's been gone for quite some time. Now she's back and back with a vengeance. She's there for only one thing, revenge. She ends up getting a job assisting Pascal Dumont while back in town. This helps her to get closer to her goal.

But things aren't going as planned. What she never expected, never dreamed would happen has. She and Pascal are starting to fall for one another. Pascal isn't a bad guy, but he's done a lot of bad things in his past. Gabrielle makes him want to be different, be better. I loved these two together. Both are damaged in their own way, but also courageous. I really loved them together. They had great chemistry and growth.
If she’s not my salvation, if she’s not my redemption, then she’s something better and greater than that. I think I might be finding a better version of myself in her. A better man.

If you're looking for a sexy series full of secrets, suspense, and romance, pick these up. I enjoyed all three of the books in this series and recommend them to all lovers of romantic suspense.

New Release + 5 Star Review: The Younger Man by Karina Halle

TYM - RB banner.jpg

A reckless, obsessive soccer star. A forbidden affair that could ruin her career. The locker room has never been this steamy.

The Younger Man, an epic standalone forbidden age-gap sports romance, by New York Times bestselling author Karina Halle, is LIVE!

cover.jpg

Starting over was her only option.

Forty-years old and still reeling from a public and painful divorce, Thalia Blackwood is looking for a fresh start, somewhere far away from her upside down life. When she’s offered a new job as the sports therapist for a football (soccer) team, she jumps at the chance. This is just what she needs to leave the heartbreak and shame of Manchester behind, trading it in for the warmth and hopeful vibrancy of Madrid.

He was her only desire.

Twenty-three year old Alejo Albarado is rising up the ranks in his career. As the charming forward for the Real Madrid team, Alejo’s life revolves around women, parties, and being a tabloid darling, that is until the new sports therapist joins the team.

Their passion could not be ignored.

What starts out as a strictly professional relationship between Thalia and the young Spanish player, slowly evolves into something more. Much more.

Their relationship was forbidden.

But their combustible chemistry and simmering sexual tension can only go so far—should Thalia give into Alejo’s advances, she’s at risk of not only losing her job, but succumbing to a much younger man will drag her through the spotlight again.

Alejo might be worth that risk.

Unless he breaks her heart in the process.

The Younger Man is a full-length standalone romance. Characters from Love, in English make a cameo in this book, however The Younger Man is intended to be read as a STANDALONE.

The bigger the love, the greater the risk.

Wow. This was so good. Emotional, sensual, forbidden, beautifully written, and one of the best age gap romances I've read in a long time. It gave me the same kind of feels of my all time favorite Karina Halle romances (The Play, Love in English, etc) and I loved it so much!

Thalia is a forty year old recent divorcee looking to get away from her current life drama, so she takes a job in another country. She is a physical therapist and changes teams, from Manchester to Madrid. Madrid is different than Manchester in many ways and she's changing and growing with this move. Everything is going good for her until the unexpected happens. Alejo Albarado.

Alejo is a popular player for Madrid and when he hurts his knee, he spends a lot of time with Thalia. Alejo and Thalia have this beautiful and real connection from the very start. Their chemistry is palpable and even though it could cost her her job, Thalia finds it hard to stay away. He's forbidden to her in every way (did I mention he's twenty three?) but Alejo is something special.

“What you feel from your heart, what you feel from your soul, it always comes first.”

My goodness, I loved these two characters together so much. I felt their bond, their connection, and I wanted them to defy the odds so badly. I knew things wouldn't be easy for either one of them, but they brought out the best in each other and were truly meant to be. Thalia was such a great character. She was strong, independent, and learning how to be on her own and come into her own. Alejo may have been young, but he was mature for his age and part of that was due to how he grew up. I completely adored him and his family.

For all the lovers of 'Love in English', you're in for a real treat. Alejo's coach is none other than Mateo. Mateo and Vera play a rather big part in this story and I couldn't have been happier! There were also some great side characters in this story aside from those two, and I hope Karina writes more from this world. I could use a Luciano book!

This book was amazing. It gave me all the feels, had the perfect amount of angst, heartbreak, and romance. It was steamy, gorgeous, and oh so passionate. I couldn't have loved it more. A must read for sure!
She’s like the sun. El sol de mi corazon. The sun of my heart, but a sun that’s always rising, always beautiful.

Disarm by Karina Halle is LIVE!

Disarm - RB banner.jpg

Karina Halle, the New York Times bestselling author of Discretion, lifts the veil off a privileged family dynasty to reveal a wealth of secrets and dangerous obsessions.

Disarm, book two in the Dumont series by Karina Halle, is Live!

Disarm Cover.jpg

Seraphine Dumont seems to have it all: she’s gorgeous, brilliant, and part of one of France’s most illustrious dynasties. But underneath the facade, Seraphine struggles to hold it all together. Besides grieving her adoptive father’s suspicious and sudden death, she also shares a tenuous role in the family business with Blaise, her in-name-only cousin. As tumultuous as their history is, he may be the only member of the deceptive Dumont family she can trust.

Seraphine is a temptation Blaise can’t resist. The torch he’s carried for years still burns. It’s his secret—a quiet obsession just out of reach. Until his brother demands that he spy on the increasingly cagey Seraphine, whom their father considers a dispensable Dumont outlier. But the more Blaise watches her and the closer he gets, the more he sees Seraphine may have every right to be suspicious. And she could be the next one in danger—from his own family.

As blood runs hot and hearts give in, Seraphine and Blaise have only each other. But can their love survive the secrets they’re about to uncover?

CHRISTY'S REVIEW:

   photo IMG_5071_zps8wiwys8y.png

She’s not telling me to stop. She has a war inside herself too.

Karina Halle’s The Dumonts series is action packed, full of secrets, scandals, betrayals, and suspense. While I enjoyed the first book of the series, this one was so much better for me. Mainly, because I loved the romance so much more!

The Dumont family is a complicated one… if you’ve read the first book in this series, you know that already. Seraphine was adopted into the family at the age of nine. Her life truly started then. She came from a loving family, but then her father died and everything fell apart. All she wants now is answers, and she’ll get them no matter how dangerous. The only person out there to protect her is someone she’s not sure she can trust. Blaise Dumont, her evil uncle’s son.

The best part about this book was Blaise… I loved Blaise so hard. What I loved about him most was how he loved Seraphine something fierce. He always put her first and never gave up on her. He was such an amazing and strong hero.

“You have me,” I say emphatically, holding her head in place, searching deep in her eyes, looking for a sign that she understands. “Even if you don’t want me, you have me.”

Seraphine is going through a lot and she’s determined. At times, she’s reckless and stubborn. Thank goodness she had Blaise by her side, and thankfully, eventually, she grew to trust him. I loved these two together. It was a very slow burn romance, but so worth the wait.

Some would consider this book a bit of a taboo/forbidden love story as the main characters are cousins (one is adopted so no true relation, and they didn’t grow up close by any means) but I found it to be a beautiful love story full of sacrifice and growth. I truly adored Blaise and Seraphine’s love story and can’t wait to see what direction Karina takes the next book in this series. I want answers about certain things and I’m dying to see how she turns Pascal around. All in all, this was a fabulous romantic suspense.

All we might have needed is each other.

Christy's Review

   photo 09BE2BE2-FA1A-4DA7-ABE3-AA04EAE1C0B0_zps1ynnljid.png

Discretion is the first book in Karina Halle’s new The Dumonts series and color me intrigued. This had all the elements of a great romantic suspense. It was scandalous, sexy, romantic, and had Karina’s insanely talented writing.

When Sadie finds herself alone backpacking through Europe, the last thing she expects is to be mugged. And even more surprising is the man that saves her. Oliver Dumont. Oliver and Sadie couldn’t be more different. Oliver is rich, french, and from an influential family. Sadie is a broke college student from Seattle who just went through a breakup. They shouldn’t work. But the heart wants what the heart wants.

What starts out as Oliver helping Sadie get back on her feet (quite literally) turns into Oliver and Sadie having loads of hot sex to Oliver and Sadie having true and real feelings for one another.
“Oh, mon lapin,” he whispers, kissing me softly, “you are the only thing that’s good and pure and real in my whole life.”

If only love could be so simple. But Oliver’s family isn’t simple. There are people in his family he loves and truly cares about, and there are others. Those that are deceitful, manipulative, and have something big they’re holding over his head. Something he wants no one to know about.

The only thing I didn’t necessarily love about this one was the original reason Oliver had been blackmailed… I felt it a little weak, like that’s something that wouldn’t have been taken quite so seriously with his family if he had just came clean all those years ago. But I also understood his pride and how he wanted his father to see him in a certain light so I got it to an extent I was just expecting something bigger.

This is one of those books that hooked me from the start. I loved the dynamic of Sadie and Oliver’s relationship and enjoyed this book a lot. If you’re looking for a romantic suspense that will keep you on the edge of your seat, pick this one up. I can’t wait to read more of these books. So many of the secondary characters piqued my interest and I can’t wait to read more about them and Sadie and Oliver as well!

Excerpt:
“Care to go for a swim?” Olivier asks, his tie now loose, his hands deftly unbuttoning his shirt.

    Oh God.

“Um,” I manage to say feebly, “I don’t have a bathing suit.”

    “Go in your underwear.”

“I’m not wearing a bra.” He smirks. “I’ve noticed.” Then he shrugs off his jacket and shirt until he’s topless.

Even in the dim light, he’s a sight to behold. Wide, firm chest, rigid abs, those lickable Vs on the side of his hips—all wrapped up in a smooth golden package.

Speaking of package, now his fingers are undoing his belt, and I’m not sure I’m ready for what’s next.

“I’m going in,” he tells me. “You’re free to join me. I highly advise a dip in the Mediterranean. The sea salt here is good for your soul.”

I’ll tell you what else is good for the soul: watching Olivier Dumont take off his clothes, that’s what. The sound as he undoes his zipper is so loud it seems to bounce off the waves.

I quickly avert my eyes, even though the temptation to stare is overwhelming, and then he moves into my vision: his perfect shoulders, back, and, yes, one hell of an ass, all lit by the soft moonlight.

He stops just at the stern of the ship, climbs over the railing, and with one quick smile back at me over his shoulder, swan-dives naked into the sea with barely a splash.

I get up and scramble over as quickly as I can with my ankle and peer over the side.

He’s swimming and grinning up at me, his wet hair pushed off his face. But that’s not the only thing that’s taking my breath away.

The water around him is lit up, like the moon’s glow has saturated it. The light continues out from around him along the dark waves, like cool white trails snaking through the sea.

“It’s called une mer de lait,” he says. “The sea of milk. It’s bioluminescence from a type of Mollusca.”

“It’s magical,” I say breathlessly, trying to soak it all in. “We have something like this in the Pacific Northwest, but it’s more blue and green. This is like . . . you’re swimming in the Milky Way.”

“Doesn’t it make you want to jump in?”

It does. And so does the fact that he’s so effortlessly bobbing in the waves.

    “Is it safe?”

    “Very much so.”

    “Warm?”

    “Bien sûr.”

I think about it for a minute. “What about my ankle?”

“You can use the steps and platform at the back, just there. Unwrap your ankle so the bandage doesn’t get wet, and we’ll put it back on you after.”

“And my lack of bathing suit?”

    “I just went in naked.”

“I didn’t see anything,” I tell him quickly.

“No? That’s a shame. It was the whole point.”

I smile, feeling extremely giddy all of a sudden, like everything inside me is fired up and ready to go. Fuck yes, I’m going in.

“Okay,” I tell him, walking around to the back, where there’s a step leading down to a wide wooden swimming platform. I sit down on the step and start unwrapping my ankle. “But you have to turn around when this dress comes off.”

“You do know by now that most women in France swim and sunbathe topless anyway?”

“And you know by now that I am not a Frenchwoman, nor am I most women,” I tell him, pulling the rest of the bandage off and setting it aside before easing up to my feet. “Okay, turn around now.”

He sighs but pivots in the water so he’s facing the shore. I quickly reach down and slip off my underwear, not wanting to get them wet, then unzip my dress and pull it over my head. I toss it back on the deck and look to see if he’s peeking.

To his credit, he’s not, but he is letting out a sly whistle of sorts as if he might have been earlier.

“You better not have seen anything,” I warn him as I hobble over to the edge.

“My imagination is pretty good at filling in the blanks,” he says, and I can hear the grin on his face. “Though I have no doubt it won’t do it justice for when I see the real thing.”

“When?” I repeat with a dry laugh, but inside a million fireworks are going off.

Time to take the literal plunge.

There’s nothing as nerve-racking as the moment before you’re about to jump, when something goes from a concept that you’ve talked about and considered to a real, actual thing. It’s scary. It doesn’t matter if it’s taking your first trip overseas or jumping into the Mediterranean Sea at night. The abstract becomes your reality, and it’s happening.

So I close my eyes, take a deep breath, and jump.
