“The most important things in life, are worth fighting for. No matter what fear says.”

It's no secret that I love every book Brittainy Cherry writes. They're all special to me, but The Wreckage of Us is one of my favorites by her. It was incredibly emotional, had the perfect amount of angst, and so much heart. Honestly, this book was perfect for me and I don't think I could have loved it more.

When Hazel comes to the ranch in her small town for a job, she's not sure if she'll be hired. She's had a hard life and is determined to work hard and get out of the situation she's in. Ian Parker helps his grandpa run the ranch. He's not sure why his grandpa hired this girl that looks like Wednesday Adams to do this hard labor, but he's going to make her work just as hard, if not harder than his other guys. Hazel more than proves herself.

Ian and Hazel don't get along at first, but with time, they become friends. It's very opposites attract and all kinds of sweet. Ian is a musician and when Hazel needs a place to stay and takes his spare room, she starts to help him with his music. She becomes his muse and he sees her in an entirely different light.
   

She inspired me in ways I’d never been inspired. She pushed me to create songs in a way I never considered. She challenged me, she coached me. She was my muse. She was the music.

I loved both of these characters so much. Ian was a bit of a grouch at first, but those kinds of characters are my favorite. Hazel's story broke my heart but she's so strong and a fantastic heroine. I loved their friendship, their romance, and everything about them both. I also truly adored Ian's grandparents. Big Paw and Holly were one of a kind.

This story definitely had some hard to read moments. There were parts of it that hurt, but by the end you'll feel healed. Brittainy always manages to fully heal anything she breaks along the way and that's one of the many reasons I love her books so much. This book was so well written and it captured my heart.

The Wreckage of Us is one of the best books I've read in 2020 and I can't recommend it enough. If you're looking for a read that will give you all the feels, that's passionate, emotional, and a truly exceptional read, pick this up! You won't be disappointed.

Sometimes in life we need to be pushed to be reminded that we can still move.

Brittainy C. Cherry give us another stunning and emotional second chance romance with her newest release, Southern Storms.

After dealing with loss, Kennedy lives her home in the city to move to the country near her sister. She needs the quiet and solitude to heal. What she never expects is for the town jerk to live right by her. And for it to be someone she once knew... Kennedy knew Jax when they were young and went to summer camp together. It's been a lot of years since they've seen each other, and they're both completely different people now.

Usually when we get a grumpy hero (I love the grumpy ones) we have a light and bubbly heroine to balance them out. That wasn't the case here, at least not completely. Kennedy used to be light, but when she went through such a traumatic loss, she lost some of that light. My favorite thing about this story was seeing both of these characters broken from their past come together and start to heal. It was such a beautiful moment.

This book alternates from chapters that take place in the past and those in the present. I loved seeing Jax and Kennedy as kids. Jax has the most beautiful and sensitive soul. I hate that his father tried to squash it, but loved that Kennedy was able to bring that side out of him. He was also able to bring out a new side to her. Kennedy had been in the darkness so long after her loss, but he got her back into the light.
   

"Tell me your truths, and I'll stay," he swore. "Whatever they are, Kennedy, I'm not afraid. I'm here."

I loved Jax and Kennedy so much, but there were also some amazing side characters that stole the show at times. Connor was my absolute favorite. This story was really heavy at times, but he had a way of bringing heart and humor to every scene he was in and had me laughing and smiling so big. I also loved Joy and Kennedy's sister.

Southern Storms is not a light and fluffy romance. It's emotional, deals with loss, grief, and healing, and will make your heart happy and full when you finish it. It's a gorgeous childhood friends to lovers story that I highly recommend!

She was the sun. She was my sun. I fell in love with the sun, and she kept my cold heart warm.

If you’re ever given the chance to choose between being afraid or being brave, be brave.

After reading Landon and Shay’s journey in book one, I was more than ready to see where their story would go in the conclusion. Friends, this one hurt so good, but it was just as fantastic as the first for me!

Shay and Landon are in two different places doing two different things, but they make each other a priority. Landon is in California living the dream, getting into modeling and acting while Shay is still back home going to college. Things seem to be okay for the most part, until something rocks Landon and he slowly starts to withdraw more, starts to change…

This book seriously had me so up in my feels. It made me cry more than once. My heart hurt for both of these characters, and I wanted nothing more than for them to find their happy together. It wasn’t an easy path to get there.
 

“You are my poison,” I whispered, pain in my breaths as my body pressed against his. His lips rolled against my collar bone as he unbuckled my jeans. “You’re my remedy,” he swore, as his mouth pressed against mine.

Landon and Shay’s love story is beautiful, but it’s also complex, broken, and completely messy at times. Landon, bless his broken self, was a mess at times. I loved that Shay didn’t constantly let him walk all over her, though. It was so important to me that she stood up for herself, and I truly believe that was the trigger that got Landon to get the help he needed for real.

I love these two together. They didn’t have the most traditional love story, but gosh. I loved it so much. Books like this speak to my heart. Love, forgiveness, angst, and alllll the feels. It was so so good. Also, this story ties in with ‘Eleanor & Grey’ much more than the first, and I loved that. I especially loved that Karla was in it so much. Her relationship with both Landon and Shay was so special. I also loved that we got more of Shay’s grandma because she’s amazing!

This is an epic duet. What starts as an enemies to lovers story turns into so much more. This is a story of healing and a book that depicts mental illness in such a real way. It’s not your typical romance, but it’s still so beautifully romantic. Landon & Shay’s duet is one I’ll never forget. It was magnificent.
