But Steve is his friend's father and mentor's widower and therefore off-limits.
Despite some challenges, 39-year-old Steve Faus has had a good life. He's extremely successful at work, has a great relationship with his college-age son, and lives in a wonderful town. Eighteen months after losing his partner, the one thing Steve lacks is someone to share his life with. If Steve is honest with himself, that someone is the young man he has known and cared about for years. Short-tempered, arrogant heart surgeon Jason Garcia grew up wanting a close-knit family, but believes he ruined those dreams when he broke up his marriage. The benefit of divorce is having as much random sex as he wants, and it's a benefit Jason is exploiting when he meets a sweet, shy man at a bar and convinces him to go home for a no-strings-attached night of fun.
Eight years living in Las Vegas hasn't dimmed Abe Green's optimism, earnestness, or desire to find the one. When a sexy man with lonely eyes propositions him, Abe decides to give himself a birthday present - one night of spontaneous fun with no thoughts of the future. But one night turns into two and then three, and Abe realizes his heart is involved.
For the first time, Abe feels safe enough with someone he respects and adores to let go of his inhibitions in the bedroom. If Jason can get past his own inhibitions and open his heart and his life to Abe, he might finally find the family he craves.

Bella's Review: 4 Stars
Abe and Jason.

These two have amazing chemistry. But what starts as a one night stand turns into something more.

Abe is a relationship kind of guy. He doesn't really do one night stands. But on his birthday, he gives in to temptation and has sex with Jason.

Jason is a serial one night stand-er. He was married to a woman and has 2 teenagers. He is a surgeon and is so busy he has no time for a relationship. But when he bumps into Abe again, he can't help but want him again.

I love their explosive chemistry and how the physical aspect of their relationship slowly progresses into a great relationship.

Abe really stole the show for me. Jason was at times a bit of a douchebag. He was so clueless about a couple of things I wanted to reach into the book and bang a pan over his head to wake him up!!

But I did like how Abe became a part of Jason's family. I like how he dealt with this kids.

Definitely an easy, sexy low angst read.

Audiobook had great narration!!

Aggressive, physical, and brave, Jake Owens is a small town football hero turned big city cop who passes his time with meaningless encounters believing he can't have who he really wants: Nate Richardson, his best friend since before forever. Thoughtful, quiet, and kind, Nate is a brilliant doctor who has always known who he is and has never been able to shake his crush on loyal, courageous, straight Jake.
After a passionate night together, Nate realizes Jake isn't as straight as he assumed, but he worries that what they shared was a fluke, a result of too much closeness for too long. For Jake, the question isn't how they ended up in bed together because he has always known that Nate holds his heart; it's how he'll convince Nate that he wants and needs to stay there.

Bella's Review: 3.5 Stars

Nate and Jake - These guys are just incredible together. Their moms were best friends and they were raised together so this is definitely a friends to lovers story.

What I loved:
- Jake never once felt ashamed or doubted his love for Nate. He would do anything for him.
- These two have some smoking hot chemistry.
- Very sweet love story.
- Alternating POV - my favorite way to read a story.

What I didn't like:
- With the alternating POV, each scene was told, twice - once from Nate's POV, then from Jake's POV. This got so repetitive. Drove me CRAZY. The story could have been cut in half.
- There was so much sex. Don't get me wrong, I like a sexy story. But there was just so. much. sex.
So.
Much.
Sex.
Dare I say, too much. Even for erotica. After a while, I started to skim the sex, it was that much.
- Misunderstandings galore. Assumptions and misunderstandings were the cause of the angst - once the characters started openly communicating, they were both on the same page. With those misunderstandings I just want to reach into the story and slap them silly!

Bottom line, I loved reading about Jake and Nate. They were soul-mates and made SUCH a great couple.
