TWISTED by Emma Chase Blog Tour

TWISTED excerpt

“Would you fucking stop! Why are you being like this?”

I glare up at him. “Because you don’t even care! I’m really upset here - and you don’t give a shit!”

His eyes open wide, incredulous.

“Of course I give a shit - I’m the one getting Jimmy Choos thrown at my head like Chinese freaking stars!”

“If you care so much, why don’t you apologize?!”

“Because I didn’t fucking do anything! I have no problem crawling on my hands and knees when I screw up. But if you think I’m gonna beg because you’ve been possessed by the Hormone Demon - you’re out of your mind sweetheart.

About the Author

By day, Emma Chase is a devoted wife and mother of two who resides in a small, rural town in New Jersey. By night she is a keyboard crusader, toiling away the hours to bring her colorful characters and their endless antics to life. She has a long standing love/hate relationship with caffeine.

Emma is an avid reader. Before her children were born she was known to consume whole books in a single day. Writing has also always been a passion and with the 2013 release of her debut romantic comedy, Tangled, the ability to now call herself an author is nothing less than a dream come true.

Not all love stories end happily ever after.

After hearing there was going to be a sequel for Tangled, I was stoked. I couldn’t wait to be back in Drew Evan’s head. Wait... did someone say this WASN’T from Drew’s pov? I was a bit hesitant of how this would be, reading from Kate’s pov and not Drew’s. I have to say bravo to the author. Emma Chase nailed Kate’s pov. I was shocked that it was almost as good as Drew’s for me. Kate was funny and although I wanted to see what was going on in Drew’s head, I enjoyed getting Kate’s perspective.

But back to Drew... you know I love his sexy self.

Drew and Kate have been together two years. Living together, working together, being together- things are going well for them. That is until things get all messed up. To leave out any story line spoilers, just know you are getting on the ride known as the ‘Emotional Rollercoaster.’ The main issue and conflict of the book could have been easily avoided, but communication isn’t always this couples strong suit. If a couple can’t communicate, can they really make it work?

It was nice catching up with all of the side characters- I’m even more excited to read Matthew and DeeDee’s book now! And thank god for little Mckenzie and her comic relief!

“Everyone- can I have your attention please? My mom and dad has sex!”
“Congratulations, Steven. It’s like halley’s Comet, right? You only get to come every seventy-five years?”

As much as I love Drew Evans, there were times I wanted to knock him upside the head. But I couldn’t stay mad at him for that long. He’s just too damn lovable. Even though his actions were screwed up at times, he always loves Kate, and I feel like he proves it in a big way. Kate wasn’t perfect or blameless either, but being in her head gave us a certain insight to the way she was feeling so it was easy to sympathize with her.

Twisted was different than Tangled in many ways. It still had it’s laughs, but there was some serious stuff going on as well. It was full of angst, drama and stress inducing moments. Miscommunications, relationship issues, hard choices. They were all prominent factors in this story. At times, I felt the author was trying to torture me. My emotions were all over the place. I laughed, I cried, and I was a nervous wreck for over half of the book! But don’t fret. There are still some very funny and very sexy times!

My most favorite part of the story- the epilogue. Why? Because it was from my DREW'S POV :D . I absolutely love this authors writing style. I will read anything she writes! But word to the wise- if you start this expecting another Tangled, change your expectations. It’s a different kind of story. Even though it wasn’t perfect for me like the first book, it’s still one I enjoyed reading.

BELLA'S Review

4.5 Stars.

I love Emma Chase's writing style. It's first person but the main character talks to the reader. It's like the character is telling us the story directly. Love this.

Twisted is told from Kate's POV.

It's so incredibly hard to write a review without any spoilers. So I'm not going to write about the content of the book. You can read the blurb. Suffice it to say that there is a MAJOR misunderstanding between Drew and Kate and they are both assuming that they know the whole story, but they are waaaaayyy off base.

You ever want to reach into a story, grab the characters and bang their heads together? Shake them and say, "You FOOLS!! TALK to each other!!" Yea, that was me in this book.

This book hurts. It was not full of hilarious scenes. It hurt my heart and I cried. MAJOR angst alert. You may want to have vodka nearby.

There are some very steamy sex scenes - which I love.

It is very predictable - you can see the writing on the wall pretty early on in the book. But it's like a train wreck - I could not stop reading to see how all the pieces landed.

Even though it's predictable, this book made me FEEL . I felt everything Kate felt. I really connected with her.

GAh. I could cry again just thinking about everything she went through.

Highly recommend for anyone that loved Tangled. But be warned. Emma Chase is going to rip your heart out. Make you bleed. Then put it back together.

I will definitely read the next book in the series.

REANELL'S Review
5 Holy Hell Stars!

My most favorite gals on Goodreads posted in our group that Twisted was on Netgalley for request. So I jumped right on that chance to read it! And I think I screamed when the email came from Netgalley that I was approved!!

I had no idea what to expect at all. After reading reviews from people I trust, I was scared. And it was for good reason. Emma completely blew me away with this story. I can't go into story detail at all because it will ruin the story for whoever reads this and wants to read Twisted for themselves. So I will only tell you how this book made me feel.

Dick Lick 101 <-----Best quote ever! I think I snorted on that one.

Alphabetical naughty name-calling. PURE FUCKING GENIUS

Example E ear-fucker. No that's lame. Eater of ass <---again BRILLIANCE!

Emma's writing is brilliant. I seriously want to become her best friend. I want to pick her brain, and hear all her stories. I've never read anything like Emma's writing before, I can't get enough! The characters she created I fell in love with, I want them to be real so I can become their friends. Especially Drew ;)

So this is me, giving you, the heads up TO READ THIS BOOK!

one more Alphabetical name calling before I go

KARA'S REVIEW
Rating: 4
Twisted (Tangled, #2)Points for awesome writing! Ms Chase can create a great book just by the POV she uses in it. I LOVE IT.
Drew and Kate have a great love story... although true love never lasts - work is involved.
There were FUNNY ASS parts in this book and parts that brought tears to my eyes.

So...if you have read book 1 & 1.5 you'll like this too.
If you haven't started this series - what the heck are you waiting for?
