The Saint BLOG TOUR

The Saint (The Original Sinners: White Years, #1)The Saint by Tiffany Reisz
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

   photo f4f6a7fd-96be-449b-adf4-72f478e97334_zpse7077e1f.jpg

Just when I find myself thinking Tiffany’s books can’t get any better I am proven wrong. If only we would have had this book first, I think everyone would have had such a different opinion of Søren. I loved the way this story was told. In mostly flashbacks from Nora. I hope all the installments of the White Years are told exactly this way. As a bedtime story so to speak.

Anyone who’s read The Original Sinners series knows that Eleanor was a troubled youth. Things with both parents weren’t great and she found herself in a little bit of trouble more than once. She never thought she would find someone to save her. Someone who cared for her so much that they would do anything to protect her, to keep her safe. She really didn’t think she would find this man at church.

This man, this most beautiful man she’d ever seen in her life, this man who was the incarnation of her every hunger, every desire and every secret midnight dream... This man was her new priest?

                                photo bb543cc5-46bc-4dc5-87f1-75897f7baa75_zpsd5dca9b5.jpg

From Nora’s teenage years all the way until she is twenty we get to see her relationship with Søren. We see how much he really did help her and mold her into the woman she is now. Nora is and has always been fabulous, but the path she was headed towards wasn’t the best. Søren was there as an ear to listen, a person to talk to, and he made her aspire to do better. To be a better person.

“Whatever this game is we’re playing, I’m going to win it.”

“If you trust me and obey me, we might both win.”

Nora quickly realizes that Søren isn’t playing games with her. She falls deeper and deeper in love with him as time passes.

                               photo b6a64c24-1ab7-4a85-aa1c-9755ee4803f5_zpsf1cc11a2.jpg

I may not have been the biggest Søren fan from the beginning. When I first read The Siren, I had mixed feelings about him. As the series went on, I grew to love him. In this book, I had nothing but love for Søren. I think even those who don’t care for him will fall hard for him here. There love really is inspiring.

I will still gladly proclaim Nora as my favorite heroine ever. She is so spunky and fun. I will never grow tired of reading of her.

                             photo b684b31e-5b19-4090-a72a-37c93e507bdd_zps1d344968.jpg

There is also an element of mystery to The Saint. Though the story focus’s on the past, primarily Nora and Søren’s relationship, I found myself wondering why Nora was where she was and why she was with the person she was with. There are a few things left open, but no cliffhanger.

I don’t care what crazy things happen or what gets thrown in their way, I still firmly believe that Nora and Søren are a couple that is truly meant to be. They’ve been through their fair share of obstacles. Their relationship is far from perfect and their love story is far from conventional, but it is still so beautiful.

This series is original, addictive and brilliant. The writing is stunning. Tiffany Reisz is an autobuy author for me. If she writes it, I will read it. And the fact that the next book is about one of my favorite characters, Kingsley Edge, makes me even more excited to continue on this journey. I loved all the Kingsly we got in this story and I can’t wait for more!

“You mind-fucked me.”

“Does your brain hurt? I tired to be gentle since it was your first time.”

This is a book and series you won’t want to miss out on! If you haven’t read them yet, I can’t recommend them enough. And if you’ve already read The Original Sinners series, you won’t be disappointed with this!

“Every choice has a price. Sometimes we don’t know what it is until after we’ve paid it.”

Excerpt
Panic set in as I listened to the ring.

I'm about to talk to Matt.

I'm about to hear his voice.

I don't even know this guy.

What the hell am I doing?

He could be a psycho stalker.

We shouldn't cross this line.

I can hang up.

I can hang up now.

Yeah, I'm going to h—

            "Hannah?"
I swallowed and slid down the bathroom wall.
            "Hannah, is that you?"
Matt's cool, clear voice swirled in my ear. It was distantly accented—New Jersey, maybe New York—and a little husky. He sounded sleepy.

            He sounded sexy as hell.

I had the overwhelming urge to ask him to keep saying my name. Hannah, Hannah, Hannah. Help me come. Warmth bloomed between my legs.

"Okay then." He laughed softly. I felt my reason melting at the sound. "We'll play the one-sided conversation game. I'm Matt, it's nice to—" Again, he broke into quiet laughter. His voice was rich with amusement, but not warm. He sounded contemptuous. He sounded ready to laugh at anything, simply for the pleasure of laughing with his silky voice.

I couldn't help but picture the devilish eyes that must have accompanied that voice.

Green eyes, I decided. Dark green, secretive and deep like a forest.

"I was going to say it's nice to meet you," he went on, "but I guess we've technically met online. Now we're meeting on the phone. Maybe..." He trailed off. I heard some shuffling. "God, if this is you trolling me Nate, I swear I'm going to break your fucking—"

"Hey! Sorry, I—" I scooted over to the bathroom door, opened and closed it, then sat back against the wall. Brilliant. Sorry, I was soaking my underwear while I listened creepily to your voice. "—sorry, yeah. I had to go in the bathroom. My sister is asleep."

Matt was silent for a moment.

"Is that why you're whispering?" he said.

"Yeah. She's really tired. We're at a motel, we just stopped. Pretty sure the wall between this bathroom and her bed is a piece of plywood, so."

"Well... damn. I wanted to hear your voice. I mean, your regular volume voice."

He chuckled. "Do you think you could risk a few words? I'll deal with your sister if she wakes up."

I smirked, imagining a conversation between my hotheaded sis and this glib personality.

"I think that would be a bad idea. But, um. Sure. What  should I say?"

"With your normal voice? How about, the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog."

"Okay." I cleared my throat. I was suddenly painfully self-conscious about my voice. "Um. Okay. The... the quick brown fox—"

Laughter exploded on the line. It was loud and sharp, nearly cruel.

"Oh... my god Hannah." I heard a clatter, then some scuffling. "Oh fuck. You were really saying it. The quick... brown fox... oh god." Matt dissolved into laughter again.

            I glared at my knees.

"What's so fucking funny?" I whispered.

            "Hannah. Hannah, I'm sorry."

I heard him take a few calming breaths.

"Okay," he said. "I'm sorry. Ignore me, seriously. I have a weird sense of humor. That... that struck me funny. You have a lovely voice. Go figure."

Go figure? What did he mean by that?

"Look, is there a reason you wanted me to call, or were you just looking for some late night entertainment?"

"Pretty sure this classifies as early morning entertainment, Hannah."

"Okay. Well whatever. Look, I'm not sure why I—"

"I can't stop thinking about you."

            His words stopped me cold.

His words, and something in his voice. Honesty.

"What we did," he continued. "Or what you did to me..."

My throat went dry. What I did to him. It should have grossed me out, the thought of a stranger beating off to a few details about my body, but it didn't. It intrigued me. The heat between my legs pulsed.

"You know what I'm talking about," he insisted. An edge came into his voice at the slightest provocation.

            "Y-yeah," I managed. "Yeah."

            "You enjoyed it."

            "Yeah."

"You said you wished I were pounding into you."

            "Yeah..."

I couldn't believe this smooth-talking stranger was dictating to me how I felt.

            I couldn't believe I was blindly agreeing.

And I couldn't believe my considerable vocabulary had suddenly been reduced to "yeah."

"Hannah, you made me come so hard. And I did it again, thinking about you. Let me return the favor."

His words hung in the silence between us.

Return the favor. Help me come.

            "Yes," I whispered.

Bella: 5 STARS!!!!!!!

THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was in the middle of another book when I was STRONGLY encouraged to drop everything and read this book.

It completely sucked me in!!!!! I could not stop turning the pages. The writing is amazing. Love this author!!!

Matt is our gorgeous, tortured hero. He is a writer and meets Hannah online to become anonymous writing partners.

Hannah is not in a good place in life. She is with a crap boyfriend and has a crap job. So she decides to pack it up and move back home so she can focus on her writing career.

This connection online becomes soooooo much more. I don't want to spoil anything for you so you can experience the whirlwind that is the story of Matt and Hannah.

We get alternating POV - my favorite!!!

What I loved best about this book is how unpredictable it is. My eyes were GLUED to the screen, I couldn't devour it fast enough. This is one of those books where you forget you're reading. It feels like you're living in the character's world for a little while and then when the book is over you think - WTF just happened? My mind. was. blown. I felt the loss of the characters and I miss them so much I just might do a re-read.

Hot, steamy sex - check (perhaps a bit...taboo...you may need an underwear change after you read this one!)

Hot, steamy hero - check (Sex God)

Tortured, broken, bad boy - check

Awesome heroine - check (loved Hannah!!)

Plot - check (it's not just erotica, people, there was a very good plot)

Cliff-hanger - say it ain't so!!!!! YES, there is a CH. But you have GOT TO READ THIS BOOK!!!!!!! I usually hate CH endings and will wait for the sequel. But I'm so glad I read this now. Don't wait, you'll be glad you read it.

M. Pierce - when are you writing more books???? Where have you been all my life??? I love your work and look forward to reading more of your words.

There is no such thing as loneliness. There is only the idea of loneliness.

This book sort of popped up out of nowhere for me. There is nothing better than picking up a book you really hadn’t heard of, giving it a chance and absolutely LOVING it! Night Owl was that book for me!

Matt and Hannah. Night Owl and Little Bird. It all started with an online writing partnership. Matt had rules, and he had them for a reason. No real names. No photos. Nothing personal. Then lines started to get crossed. One personal email, one photograph, changed everything between the two of them.

Matt is a writer. He is a best seller. Matt writes under a pen name, so no one knows who he is. Hannah is a college graduate who never really found her niche in life. After leaving her dead beat boyfriend, she moves back home to Colorado. Hannah and Matt end up in the same state. In the same city. Matt should stay away from Hannah. He knows he should. But after seeing her picture, he just can't.

  Night Owl photo 46959111-a9f5-42d6-85cb-d2023a60ed40_zps7d9b4047.jpg

Matt and Hannah begin a relationship. It’s complicated in many different ways... then again, Matt is a pretty complicated guy...

Matt. My Matt. From the moment I met this guy, I loved him. He can be an asshole. He can be controlling. He is damaged. He’s bossy and dominate. And to top it off, he is a dirty talker. Yep... he’s pretty much PERFECT! Matt is a little standoffish, an unconventional hero, but is very lovable. He is hilarious in a snarky way, and seriously hot as all get out! Loved that this was written in dual pov and we got to read from both Matt and Hannah’s perspective. Hannah was a pretty kick ass heroine. She is real, fun, sweet, likable and she doesn’t put up with Matt’s shit. The banter between the two of them was great.

  Night Owl photo 200ac78b-7023-4b0f-8073-dcdbc26db36f_zps8b2d4ab4.jpg

When Matt and Hannah first meet up, you may think things go quickly for them, but it didn’t seem that way to me. Maybe it was the fact that they already had an established writing relationship and had chatted so much online and on the phone, I just felt their connection early on. The first half of the book. Hot damn. Matt and Hannah together- I thought my iPad was going to spontaneously combust those too were so freakin hot together!  I loved the dirty talk, the steamy sex, omg I couldn’t put it down once I started!

  Night Owl photo 6d671735-21fd-4d8d-8edb-36be4933983b_zps763709de.jpg
Things get a little more intricate as the story goes on. Secrets are uncovered, things transpire and it gets intense for a while... but you will enjoy every minute of the ride!

  Some of my favorite quotes:

"I'm trying to teach you this mysterious skill, one that you seem to lack. It's called how to say goodbye."
I smiled and rubbed the back of my neck.
"What are you grinning at?" she said.
"I never want to," I said.
"What? Never want to what?"
"I never want to learn how to say goodbye."

God, I felt amazing. I felt tattered in the best possible way, like our violent passion had blasted me clean. When I eased off Matt's arm and climbed out of his bed, I knew that I was leaving something behind. It was my old skin. He'd taken me for all I was worth.

"I was going to him because I loved him, and because love is unstoppable."

"I couldn't bear to think he housed such strange sorrow. Sad things seem truest to me."

  Night Owl photo b39f5fd6-811a-420e-9ba0-bfa39134ae36_zps48911f50.jpg

The writing- amazing. The characters- lovable and interesting. The story- sexy, funny and unique. Now the ending... if only I hadn’t read that damn epilogue, every thing would have been perfect. I am impatiently waiting until January to find out whats going on. Even with the crazy epilogue, I don’t think there was anything I didn’t love about this book. It was the perfect blend of humor, romance, passion and angst. I would highly recommend this book for anyone looking for a story to melt your heart and your panties! It gets a solid 5 stars from me!!!

Night Owl (The Night Owl Trilogy, #1)Night Owl by M. Pierce
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Matt dirty talking stars!

I'd like to give a shout out to Bella for gifting me this book. When she found out I hadn't read it, she flipped. LOL

So I started reading today, and I couldn't stop reading. Seriously, I was devouring the words. I don't know what it is about dirty talkers but I do love them! And Matt can do the dirty talk well!

The story was well written, with characters that were easy to connect with. And the birthday present scene. Holy smokes that shit was hot!

Now, I have a question for M. Pierce. What the fuck was that epilogue?! Seriously, I can't function with those words being the last part of the book. I wanna stalk you and MAKE you give me book 2 NOW! Haha! I'm totally not kidding...

If you haven't read this one yet..go grab your copy! Thanks Bella for gifting me Night Owl!
