I am obsessed with Beth and Carter! Dylan Allen has this way about writing characters that speak to you and I am so in love with this story.

I’m always here for a second chance romance and Beth and Carter’s was one of the best. Carter meets Beth one summer and they both fall hard for one another. That summer was everything for both of them. But things happen and miscommunication comes up, and they spend the next decade apart.


When Beth and Carter meet again, it’s not an easy path for them to be together. They go through so many obstacles, but their love is stronger. There was some drama and angst, but it only made the happily ever after between these two that much sweeter.

I don’t want to talk too much about the story, because you need to experience these gasp worthy moments for yourself, but I will speak about the characters. I adored Carter, but Beth… Beth is QUEEN. She is one of those heroines you can’t help but to completely fall for. So strong and relatable, and honestly she made this book for me. We all love a good hero, but when there is a heroine I have this much admiration for, it really makes the book for me.

I love romances that are full of passion, and no one writes passion quite like this author. If you want a romance that is passionate, epic, raw and gritty at times, heartbreaking but also healing, I can’t recommend this one enough. These characters and this book will stay with me.

Wild Wind is Jagger Black's story and oh my goodness- this one was amazing. Definitely the best book KA has put out in the last year or two IMO. I loved it so much. I've got a soft spot for Chaos. It's my favorite MC series and I couldn't wait to get more.

Jagger and his heroine, Archie have a unique meet cute. They meet at a cemetery. Archie is the girl across the way and Jagger is the boy who helps get her through one of the hardest days of her life.

After that meeting and connection, they run into each other several times throughout the years. It's like fate wants them to be together, but the timing never seems quite right. Until it is. Once Archie and Jagger decide to give it a go, things get serious quickly. Even though they're a new couple, it feels like they've known each other for forever, and in a big way, they have.

I loved Archie and Jagger's relationship, but just as equally I loved watching Jagger come to terms with his place in the world and learn more about the father he never knew.This one brought out so many feels for me. I had high hopes for this one and it lived up to all my expectations and then some.

Wild Wind can be read as a stand-alone, but for those who love Chaos, you're in for a real treat.

Because he was hers. And he had been since she was fourteen. And she was his. She knew this. Because she had been since eternity.

“You wanna know what I think?” Hound asked.
Jagger tipped his head back to look at his dad.
Then Hound told him what he thought.
“I think you’re in. And I think if you walk away from this girl, you’ll regret it for the rest of your life. And I think I’m here to tell you that because you need another voice sayin’ something you already know.”
“That’s what I think too,” Jagger admitted.
Hound nodded, and again he did it only once.
“Then I’ll look forward to havin’ her over to dinner and celebrating with your mom that she can finally stop worrying about you because she’s feelin’ you shoulda been done sowin’ those oats about five years ago.”
Jagger grinned at him.

Hound reached out and caught Jag by the neck, gave him a squeeze, a shove, then let him go.
And Jagger felt better.
“So, what’s her name?” Hound asked.
“Archie.”
Hound looked him right in the eye.
Then he burst out laughing.
He settled back into the bar, his fingers cradling his brew, and he was shaking his head.
“Archie and Georgie. Fuck,” Hound said.
Jag hadn’t thought of that, both him and Dutch finding girls with boys’ names.
He grinned, leaned back into the bar himself, and replied, “She doesn’t have red hair and freckles, and I seriously doubt her best friend’s name is Jughead, but I think she might have a bit of tomboy in her.”
“Well, son,” Hound picked up his beer and tipped it toward Jag, “you’re about to find out.”
Jag grabbed his beer and tapped necks with Hound.
And he was grinning again.
Because Hound was right.
He was.

CHRISTY'S 5 STAR REVIEW

The best thing about reading an Emma Scott book is I always know I'm going to love it, I just don't know what level of love it will be. Well, I'll be shouting about this one on the rooftops for a while, because not only is it the best book in her 'Lost Boys' series, it's easily the best book I've read so far in 2021. This book made me feel, made me cry so hard, but also had so many heartwarming moments. This series is the epitome of the found family troupe and I love this group of characters so much.

Ronan Wentz shows up in Santa Cruz as an eighteen year old senior in high school who's aged out of the foster care system after ten years in. He's staying with his uncle (sort of) by helping him manage an apartment building. Ronan hasn't had a family since he lost his mother as a child. But he meets two boys, just as lost as him in different ways who become brothers to him, Miller and Holden. Then, he meets her. Shiloh Berrera.

On the surface, Shiloh has it much more together than Ronan, and in some ways she does. In other ways, she's just as lost as him. One thing Shiloh does have is an incredible Bibi (her great grandmother) who's raised her since she was four. Words can't express how much I loved Bibi and how she was with not only Shiloh, but also Ronan. Shiloh and Ronan become friends when put together, and they're attracted to one another, but it seems impossible to be together. Still, they can't fight what they're feeling.

"So how about no labels? No rules. We'll just do our best and maybe land somewhere..."

All that Ronan wants is to keep Shiloh safe and to have her. He's not sure if he can have both. And keeping her safe is always his top priority. I admired him for that. He's the kind of guy who never puts himself first and would do anything for those he loves. He's got the biggest and softest heart even though he has a rough exterior, his heart always shines through.

Shiloh can be standoffish at times and she's very goal driven, but it's only because she wants to be her best and feels like she has something to prove. She's also just as loyal as Ronan and both of them haven't had easy lives. There were some big things I could relate to Shiloh about and because of that, her story really touched me. Ronan though, his past wrecked me. This one had me sobbing at one point. I just felt so much so hard, but it was all necessary.

None of the main characters in this book (or this series) has a traditional family, but they make their own family. They become each others family. And sometimes, the family you choose is so much greater than the family you're born into. This series sheds such a light on that and I love it so much.

The Last Piece of His Heart completely broke me, but it also put me back together. Emma's writing is phenomenal and this story was truly epic. This is an unforgettable story and one of Scott's very best. I can't recommend it enough!

That's what you did with good and precious things. You held them tight and took care of them. I could do that. I could keep her safe and have her too.
