Power Play by Toni Aleo is LIVE!

Power Play by Toni Aleo is AVAILABLE NOW!

Posey Adler is coming home. After a devastating journey for what she mistakenly thought was true love, she is saying to hell with men and love forever. As the Nashville Assassins’s new assistant coach for special teams, Posey is ready to focus on her job and have the attention on her for a change. She’s been haunted by her place in her sister’s shadow, but this is her chance to shine and force her family to take notice. But in order to make a name for herself, she’s going to have to go toe-to-toe with her team’s leading power play scorer.

Boon Hoenes lives for special teams. The power play is his favorite thing about the game. He loves having that advantage over his opponent. And most of the time, it’s his quick thinking that sends the puck to the back of the goal when he’s on the ice. Off the ice, however, no amount of quick thinking prepared his heart for being dumped by his college sweetheart. Boon has sworn off women, but when Posey Adler comes onto his ice—and kicks him off his beloved power play—he decides she’s one woman he doesn’t want to swear off.

They’ve both been hurt, but instead of going in for the penalty kill, Boon is ready to convince Posey their hearts are the secret to how they’ll win.

How they’ll score the ultimate goal.

A forever kind of love.

CHRISTY'S REVIEW:

Power Play is the second book in Toni Aleo's 'Nashville Assassins: Next Generation' series. Her Assassins series is my favorite hockey series so any time we get a new book from that group of characters, I'm thrilled. This was Posey Adler (Shea and Ellie Adler) and Boon Hoenes story.

Boon is a new-ish character to this series and an Assassins player. Posey Adler knows hockey better than most and has just taken a job as a coach with the Assassins. She's talented at making plays and is mainly there to help the team with their power play, which Boon is a part of. These two have a rocky start. It's apparent there is an attraction between them, but neither of them are willing to act on it so there is all this sexual tension between them.

It’s obvious she doesn’t want a damn thing to do with me, but I want her. Oh fuck, I want her. Bad.

These two can only stay away from each other for so long, though. They start a secret relationship (they aren't ready to go public due to their careers) and I loved them together. Honestly, I wasn't Posey's biggest fan in the first book in this series, but I adored her in this book. And Boon... he was a bit surely at first, but he is now one of my favorite heroes of Toni's. He totally won me over and was pretty close to perfect.

Things aren't always easy for Posey and Boon, and there is some miscommunication between them and a bit of angst and heartbreak in their story-line, but overall, this is a really sweet and fun romance. As always, I loved the family dynamic aspect of this book. Though the Assassins group have a lot of family members, the team is a family in itself. One of Boon's teammates, Wes was amazing and I really hope he gets his own book!

Power Play is a fantastic sports romance that was fun, steamy, and entertaining. If you're a fan of sports romance I can't recommend this series (as well as the original Assassins series) enough!

“I’ve got you forever, Adler.”
“Right back atcha, Hoenes.”

About the Author:

My name is Toni Aleo and I’m a total dork.
I am a wife, mother of two and a bulldog, and also a hopeless romantic.
I am the biggest Shea Weber fan ever, and can be found during hockey season with my nose pressed against the Bridgestone Arena’s glass, watching my Nashville Predators play!
When my nose isn’t pressed against the glass, I enjoy going to my husband and son’s hockey games, my daughter’s dance competition, hanging with my best friends, taking pictures, scrapbooking, and reading the latest romance novel.
I have a slight Disney and Harry Potter obsession, I love things that sparkle, I love the color pink, I might have been a Disney Princess in a past life… probably Belle.
… and did I mention I love hockey?
